Oh my gosh! That teared me up! So cool!!!!! Great photography and capturing of them from a bunch of different angles. I missed yous so did a quick thumbnail scan and found this beauty. Hope all's well, you two!
Thank you Suz! Sorry that we have been gone for a while. We had the death of a parent, which was a long time coming, and not unexpected, but took our attention away. We should get back into the swing of things again, now. Really appreciate your friendship and support.
Those are such neat animals!! Love your video of them, we got to see those when we visited as well, we did a land and cruise trip and when we were on the cruise part a whole bunch swam by our cruise ship :-) Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Melissa! Yes, it is so rare and wonderful when wild animals actually want to interact, and their speed and underwater acrobatics are amazing. Always love it when they do that. Always really appreciate your comments!
This is one of my favorite parts about traveling in the passage way. When we have the Dall Porpoise to take a ride along with us. Fingers crossed we see some next week. Where are you guys now? I will be traveling between Wrangell to Juneau. Won't that be something if we passed along the way
Oh, Kathy, so great. We live in Fairbanks, and our boat is in Valdez, so we pretty much stay in the Prince William Sound. How will you be going from Wrangell to Juneau? Kayak, sailboat, powerboat, ferry? Our kids, and their partners, arrive in 10 days, and then we will be out on the boat again, and hope to include them in some of our adventures!
@@AlaskanAmblers How fun to have your kids all with you. I look forward to seeing them. I travel on a 120 ft yacht. I am a photo leader and we take groups of 8 at a time from Wrangell to Juneau, and than I get another group and we do the trip backwards. I have been doing it for about 10 years now. We take the group to Anna creek and Pack Creek to view the bears. We watch the whales for hours and go into some of the glaciers to see the ice. It is my favorite place in the world. Before each time I come to Alaska, I usually add a week or 2 and do some exploring in different areas.
@@KathysOutdoorAdventures That sounds really awesome. I worked for the Forest Service in Wrangell in the 80's, then Alaska Department of Fish and Game, and now Marine Mammal Lab of the Alaska Fisheries Science Center. I've been to all of those places, and they are spectacular. Hope that you have an incredible trip, and looking forward to a photo collage or some videos soon!
Nice encounter, awesome footage, a great boat and I can imagine fantastic halibut fishing along with tasty prawns that get caught in those traps that you have onboard. Or are they crab traps?
Glad you enjoyed it! The traps for prawns are a little different than the ones for crabs, but are based on the same principle. In the Prince William Sound, crab fishing is not legal, so we go for prawns. Thanks for the comments and questions!
