Most American cities are like this because most American cities are essentially giant sprawling never ending suburbias. cities like NYC, DC, New Orleans, Chicago and a hand full of other are outliers.

It's a GHOST TOWN. No density. You don't get the same effect of the skyscrapers when you're in the downtown as you do from outside the city looking towards it.
