Steve Cole's in-network urologist sent him to an out-of-network hospital for emergency treatment of kidney stones. He ended up with a massive bill that his insurer declined to pay.

Absolutely pathetic, with the amount we pay in taxes this crap is unexceptable.. with stuff like this it proves the states are not the best country in the world. This kind of treatment is probably the worst in the world.. they save your life and now you live on the street because you’re broke.. This kind of treatment should be banned . In my country this is all free..

Tragic you have to find in network when in pain then fight with the for profit insurance company who cares more about shareholders than patients to get the claim paid. I wish I had enough money to get Canadian citizenship.

To be clear. The hospital billed for $128k. Isn't that part of the problem too,?
