Anything from the first three silent hill games is good, even though the first one hasn't aged well visually. Also, Condemned: Criminal Origins and Alien Isolation for first person stuff; Nightmare House and Gray if you want a shorter mod; anything by Frictional Games (Penumbra series, Amnesia, SOMA); Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi if you're interested in more 80's campy horror feel and older games. If you want to try more of a top-down gameboy feel horror game, Ib and Corpse Party are excellent. Those are my recommendations.
