Corrections: - Lightweight light attacks do the same damage as adaptive light attacks, my own data shows this but I thought otherwise for some reason - Apparently some archetypes of Ergo Sum are buffed differently by Transcendence, I will test soon and leave results here - More options like Telesto aggressive and Polaris vortex will be added soon as well
Someone mentioned some archetypes/frames gain 21%, some 51. Aggressive Vortex and …possibly caster being the higher ones. Maybe not aggressive. Vortex being relatively strong even with ammo consumption considered. Some such.
Hey question! What’s up with the aerial goldtusk combo in the spreadsheet? Is it that its dps is high- yet unreliable(depending on boss)? I remember it being mentioned as no longer good long ago and was just wanting to confirm
Also one other thing- I watched this one sword dps testing video by a content creator named CptZepos and he uses DDT for his testing and comes to conclusion for all legendary swords, the best dps and total dmg involves combos that Involve light and heavy attacks across all frames, but in certain cases and listings it is said “light spam only”, what is best? Light heavy combos (respective to the swords frame) or light only , specifically on legendary swords.
@@north9372 I always thought it was one of those things where when executed could technically produce high results but input and application can be awkward, some bosses don’t cooperate as nice, and the lasagna code can sometimes just not count stuff that should’ve hit even though you did everything right. I’ve often seen it chalked as “complicated” as a choice because chances are you’re better off just going with a “normal sword” attack cadence because there’s just not really a ton of situations physically in the game where you really need to overthink a sword, let alone something that shines from a particular attack input.
I know that this was hell for you to grind, but if there was ANYTHING in TFS that we needed rigorous testing on, it was Ergo Sum. There's just too many combinations to get straight answers on "what is best" for players that only have access to like a handful of rolls each. So your sacrifice is much much appreciated here
I personally like the Colony + Aggressive or Riskrunner + Lightweight combo, but I've been using it in light content like Overthrow, Standard Breach Executable, Advanced Nightfall, Strikes, Gambit, etc rather than actual boss damage.
It's not, add the 5% dmg boost from trancendance to the others swords and they'll beat Ergo... barely. With really hard to activate perks for dps (surrounded) it's mostly semantics, but Ergo is not the highest dps sword
@@dratoriasgaming9935 He mentioned in the vid that he isn't adding the transcendent dmg on the non-Ergo Sum swords. His reasoning for using it with Ergo Sum and not other swords was that "You're supposed to use Ergo Sum with transcendent"
@@gamingoverlord8854 I'll point out that surrounded is a super inconsistent damage perk, as you need to be able to keep enemies around you without killing them too quickly. Whirlwind blade is the easiest to keep up
all of yall are incorrect, wave frame ergo is highest dps sword. it just doesnt have the sustainable total damage bc of ammo eco. one wave frame swipe hits for 70k+
The Riskrunner Ergo Sum makes add clear / breathing room in the Verity encounter absolutely fucking deliciously divine. Even before the catty you never run out of ammo, you get to go comfort picks for smacking the shit outta the unstops, no one else is worrying about being overrun because everything is dead.
@@aquativity2907did a normal se run the other day and a chick killed herself if she was teleported inside because she could not stay alive in solo rooms. She was a conq x6.
Something I found during my own testing is that Song of Flame allows a Perfect Fifth ignition on every heavy due to the innate scorch stacks on Solar hits. This lets you effectively have Ember of Ashes while Transcendant. Might be something worth testing in terms of overall DPS with it.
Has Perfect Fifth been tested on Solar Song of Flame with Ember of Ashes? Curious if you could increase the number of Ignitions over the course of the reserves or if you could possibly trigger multiple Ignitions per Heavy Attack.
Thanks for the useful video dude! I normally don’t comment on videos, but you put so much effort into this for the community, I wanted to show what appreciation I can through liking and commenting. Your sacrifice is appreciated.
I'm subscribing not just because the analysis was good, but also because you used :3 and haiii in the in-game chat. I know a kindred spirit when I see one.
@@r3mxd I know it’s not the first time. But I don’t think there’s been an exclusive meta where you are just using special weapons to kill if I remember correctly. Double slug meta was always with anarchy tractor.
There was a very specific use case with Calus and Coldheart in the first Leviathan raid, but that is all I can think of. When Merciless and the Ikelos shotgun were best in slot for damage, they were still heavy weapons.
Awesome testing, thanks a ton. I knew my caster polaris felt strong, its great to see the numbers. I will vouch for traveler's chosen though! With volatile rounds on grenade kill & lucent blade stacking, it's super easy to hit 10 stacks, swap to refill your grenade, and repeat. Very powerful ad clear choice that rivals pre-nerf chain reaction forbearance. Obviously, ad clear is a dime a dozen, but if you wanted to use this thing specifically *for* ad clear, its a great choice!
I like how the video starts with you peacefully running along, then a hive knight hits you and you spin around like: "Really? In the middle of MY Pale Heart exploration?"
Your obsession earned my sub, sometimes what if consumes you... And this I have found somebody who's answering the questions I want answered but I don't have the time to pursue myself. Welcome to my feed
My only hope is the slight rollback of the particular relative damage changes are the last thing they change with these. I don't envy your efforts to re-test everything, with both the activity changes AND the entire sandbox (except rockets) getting combatant modifier changes at the same time.
I will note, if you want good dps with wolfpack rounds, avoid wave frame as you end up in the air and you'll lose dps if you get knocked back. Lightweight is definitely the best option for wolfpack. The more grounded you are, the easier it is to keep that dps up
There is a special place of Ergo Sum in PvP with Wave Frame and Arc Conductor because it allows the follow up strike in PvP to one shot thanks to Arc Conductor's activation on Ergo Sum
Im just glad i kept the six egos sums i had, i knew not to delete them till someone made a video on the god roll. I checked my vault during this video and i was happy to see i had the god roll
This video would benefit enormously from showing the damage test on Riven. Also does the caster frame perfect fifth require Wolfpack round buffing + transcendence to reach that damage level? What is it like without it?
I know you're trying a million things, but I really recommend trying Sacred Flame / Ticuu's Divination perk with the wave frame. I have a godroll one, Jagged Edge and Swordmaster Guard, and it is a MONSTER, even against packs of orange bars in underlevel content.
@Aegis Okay. I love everything but…. The risk runner one blew my expectations away. In 4th encounter salvations edge (or really everywhere but final boss) with a wave frame roll went unbelievably hard because of how many red bars got one shot by the lightning after the wave(because it’s activated on heavy attack NOT taking arc damage). I would wave swing then light attack lunge(which is a free attack with this archetype) on the bigger guys meanwhile everything was dying to the arcing because it didn’t have a limit on how many it could hit at once
Can confirm I used the same roll in the day one raid, it went hard. Also the ammo economy is insane with the artifact this season. Getting three kills means each heavy only costs one ammo. And if you get lucky and get kills with the arc conduction after the initial swing it can generate more than that on a single swing
Note for travelers chosen. I have a arc one and ive been using it with arc hunter. Ascension kills give the gathering light stacks, not sure if other abilities do too.
More info on Colony perk on Ergo Sum. It doesn't share your weapon's affinity, it does kinetic damage. Even if your Ergo Sum is Void you cannot proc something like Nezerec's Sin with the insectoid. Making it even less desirable.
Arc conductor is actually juicy. I saw someone use a waveframe arc conductor in salvations edge on master for the first challenge. Dude popped it once and shit was melting around him as he was running to plates
Not me casually checking my ergo sum rolls stashed in my vault waiting for video like this and having a jagged edge, swordmaster guard, caster, perfect fifth just sitting there. Now if Bungie can patch it so we get full transcendence from rally flags that would be awesome. .
Has nothing to do with the damage testing but Ergo Sum is the perfect example of Bungie doing things that make no sense. This thing has so many unique combinations that depending on what you like and what you want to do you could keep 10-20 of these things alone on top of EVERYTHING else that is new like exotic weapons, exotic armor that includes class items that have the same situation as this sword, weapons including many craftables, unique armor that has perks that lend to they want you to keep them and use them… all only here at launch BTW… and you get 100 new vault space for the whole year. That’s absolutely mind boggling.
It's so shame not to be able to attune the Ergo sum roll you want! I'm struggling almost every day to get the damn wave frame arc Ergo... But I'm only getting irrelevant rolls..
I've been saving rolls the last couple weeks and I had 12 saved up so I finally looked up a video on what the good rolls are.... I have one perfect one and one decent one and 10 garbage ones, fuck me. Great video though edit: also where do you test dps at? I'd like to test a few things in my own builds but idk what the current best spot to test is
so is perfect fifth so strong that you should five-stack it (assuming #6 is bringing wolfpack), even though the scorches overlap? and if not, what's the next-best option -- a different ergo sum, or a heavy sword?
Now that whirlwind blade got that indirect buff, do you think the charge rate buff on Nasreddin's field tested can significantly impact its total damage?
@@TheAegisRelic Well in the sense of field tested giving charge rate, eliminating the need for lucent blade and you can have reserve mods in its place. Considering they are also removing reserve swapping, I think it's at least worth trying... Although I also think it's unlikely to have a big effect, seeing how much you need to do to have a full 5 stack of field tested
i was doing a run of crotas with my friends a bit back when the sword came out, i had a caster cloudstrike roll, and i ended up doing over 7mil dmg w just that sword, its literally insane
The currently available version of the Destiny 2: Boss Damage spreadsheet is pretty different from the one in the video. I wanted to look up the numbers in the spreadsheet but there is no entry right now for Ergo Sum caster frame with Perfect Fifth....
@@TheAegisRelic I can't find even the old numbers for ergo sum caster perfect fifth anywhere in the current sheet, am I just not looking in the right place? I've looked through all the tabs... I understand it may all just be in process and I'll check back later
Do you actually need swordmaster? Last I heard all it does is make your ability charge faster after the two second delay, but your heavy does the same damage as long as you have 1% charge
Lol, I've been using a perfect fifth and caster frame with swordmaster and jagged edge roll for the past couple of weeks and come to find out it's the best sword in the game.
for the caster frame argo sum, is the heavy attack the charged heavy attack? or a heavy non charged attack. so would it be 1 heavy attack and then 2 lights, and then wait for the recharge?
I think song of flame adds scorch to solar weapons so that might be a good alternative to the scorch fragment since you lose that by running prismatic instead of solar
ok completely unrelated question i have an enhanced eager edge slammer as well, and i gotta ask… how tf are you moving so fast 😭 i do the same thing as u and i’m 10x slower can we get an aegis movement guide lmao?
There are plenty of skating guides online but the basis of sword movement in Destiny is swapping off your sword after swinging or using some sort of animation to cancel the swing end so that you don't cut your speed
so @theageisrelic i watch 2 time this vid. and i dont know do i delete my perfect fifth sword if i dont have caster frame, i have lightweight and aggressive with that perk and now i dont know what to do with them, i must test myself and im lazy, lol, but caster wont drop to me and i f... reset vendor ghost 4 time
Main thing with the caster/perfect fifth roll is that the perfect fifth explosion occurs after 5 hits. Caster frames do 10 hits per heavy attack meaning you get 2 explosions per heavy attack. Additionally, these explosions deal scorch (I think 40+20 scorch similar to polaris, but not certain) so you get an ignition either every heavy attack (if you have ember of ashes) or every other heavy attack which do a good bit of damage. Lightweights attack pretty quickly, so the lightweight roll might not be the worst for perfect fifth procs.
How much does having caster frame matter for The Perfect fifth compared to a wave frame? Did you not get a wave frame to test with or does caster frame perform better specifically with perfect fifth. Thank you for the great breakdown of this sword. Part of me hopes they fix whatever weird stuff is going on with wolfpack + perfect fifth to make it literally better than heavy ammo swords
I went through like 50-100 overthrows too because I don't want to be farming dual Destiny with ransoms and my 1st synthoceps cloak was my 24th drop. I was not doing them optimally initially too (Didn't run around the map after every wave or didn't do it after the last wave). I wonder if there's a way to check how many runs I did. What's painful is that I didn't even check what exotic perk ergo sum has so I was deleting them based on guard and blade. I have everything I need but I could've had god rolls for different elements
From what I've seen ergo sum is best for damage with wolfpack rounds and another sword (my personal favorite is brave arsenal fg) I pulled around 5 million damage on crota with this combo and whenever wolf pack rounds runs out you just swap back to ergo sum and do a quick heavy attack before going back to your heavy sword
Are we sure the exotic perks damage is consistent across frames? I've been told that telesto explosions deal massively increased damage on aggressive frames
