Nice piece of wood! I love hazel - usually for sticks though You made it look like it’s got good layers of character in it, well patinated and painted! That would sell for a fortune in London!

If YOU like it, it is YOUR art! Intriguing piece. The shape certainly lent itself to this kind of piece rather than a regular, symmetrical shape, and I think it turned out well.
Thank you Susan, im not sure if i like it or not some times an ugly piece of wood can turn out better than a nice piece, i have had a few ideas on how to change this and if it works out OK you will see this in the new year
Hi Jojo thanks, im not sure if i really like this at all I sort of like it for its uniqueness, but then i think would i buy it, and the answer to that is a resounding NO
My first thought on seeing that piece of wood was to run and hide in a dark place. The finished result looks like a beautiful vase that an archeologist has dug up and cleaned after two thousand years in the desert sand. Everything deserves a chance before being consigned to the firewood bin.
Thanks Albert glad you liked it. It was fun to turn but im not to sure about the finished article. It is fun to pick out really odd and quirky pieces of wood and see what you can do with them and unfortunately not all of them turn out to be a silk purse, but as i say really good fun to turn
