Dambusters - RAF Scampton - Guy Gibson's Office & Red Arrows 

This is just up the road from me. Sad to see the Red Arrows are being moved from here, and that Guy's dog has had it's grave removed, and nobody is allowed to say it's name.

I went there a few years ago and we we're taken 'round by the deputy curator. We saw the officer's mess, sampled some of the apples from the trees that in the film are just saplings, went into Gibson's office and then saw the grave of a dog...it was November, it was covered in poppies. Then our guide asked if we'd like to go inside the Red's hanger. I was delighted to see all these airframes stripped down in medium level servicing. Also hanging around were some young chaps in red uniforms. What I couldn't understand was my partner. All those fascinating engines, ejection seats and things but she seemed more interested in the pilots.

Why oh why did the unrelated acoustic guitar track (which at times obliterates the dialogue) get on this video - if it was thought it was for atmospheric effect - WRONG.

I think Mr Gibson was never going to be far away.

Shame that the idiot music drowned out what was being said.

Wish I could have heard what the Guide was saying, the music drowned it out.

Advice to those people that think its cool to have music during videos. " Dont " Especially if it drowns out speech.

His mosquito suffered a fuel delivery fault over Holland.He was on a pathfinder mission (flying low dropping flares ,noting landmarks etc out in front before main formation arrived).
