Hey Damien, I noted you had some extra bass buttons on your box (more visible in another video). What notes/chords have you got on those? I was just curious.
Great playing Damien, as the slow/fast debate, let him do as can do it, especially if the delivery remains controlled and interesting, as here. Do you have a name on that first tune? I know its a Finbarr Dwyer piece and I've been trying to get a setting of it together for fiddle. Your version provides some missing links though I had remembered it slightly differently in the 2nd and 3rd parts. Did you take your version directly from Finbar's playing? What a player he was eh? I'm sure he inspired you.
Solid playing! Who's the guitar player very nice on beat steady accompaniment like a metronome it provides a nice background to Damien already solid playing on his own, my guess that guitar player started as a drum set player?
Guitar courtesy of Eugene Quinn, one of the fighting Quinns of Templeogue - he's a damn handy banjo player and vocalist as well. His new solo album (with Damien and Colm Keane the fiddle player twiddling knobs above, amongst many others) can be previewed here ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9b0gvQI46Uk.html ). And I don't think Eugene started on traps, that would have been his schoolmate Paddy Lawless... he's just a consummate musician.
Getting old Damien, my God u must be the best around, u put the hair standing on my neck when I listen too u play. Keep u the good work, regards to our family
Nothing spectacular about this. Just lot of fast note playing. Can't hear the guitar or bass. Playing fast but saying NOTHING is what a lot of youngsters pass off as music today.
Hey Damien, your playing rocks! I have just a small, humble request: please issue downloadable versions of your album(s) (on iTunes or another platform), if you can. I'm trying to reduce the number of discs I have, and if I can get your stuff in this format I'll grab anything you put out. Thanks!
As you very well know this ia a matter of taste, so the answer to that question will be:Me. I was not aware of your existence until recently when I stumbled over this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zpSJmq_1wLI.html were you play "King of Pipers". It stunned me as well as it must have stunned the judges at the competition you won. If you take your time to listen to that performance of your own again I think you will understand why Im critical towards this one. This is written in respect for your work and not in arogance. @@troelsbrgger3179 I would encourage you to put up a video of your own playing. You must be really good considering you felt the need to criticise my playing. I look forward to experiencing your brilliance and expertise. 👍🏽
No. Im not good, just worked with music for the most of my life, which by the way is quite sometime since im 64 years old. That has the sideeffect that one gets the ability to listen. Why even take notice ? Things seem to be going very well for you and noone can please everyone.
