How much pain has this man suffered to sing like this? I mean, he uses his pain and his voice to paint a picture of sadness and sorrow and i can see it with my eyes and feel it in my skin. Just brilliant.
if it wasnt for artists like damien rice or antony and the jonhsons i would probably be a happier person.. but man, i might not be the happiest.. but i am definately a much better human being just by knowing their work

Damien Rice is by far the most underrated singer on earth. Amazing vocals, lyrics, he has it all. As much as I can blast through all kinds of music, this is always my favorite. Absolutely breathtaking.
This is my favourite song ever. I actually cannot believe how amazing it is; how much emotion he portrays through his voice alone. What I love about this is that it's so raw and this song is all about his voice.... that's what a true musician is. Someone who can be amazing without any editing or too many instruments drowning out their voice. This is just as amazing live as the recorded version is, but actually seeing him when he sings it is just phenomenal.
Damien Rice has the guts to strip his pain in this song. What a sincere and melancholic performance! I can feel a knot in my throat and goosebumps during the whole song. I wonder what originated such a song like this. This sing hurts but it's simply beautiful, just like art should be at times. I would faint if I had to sing this.
So that's the point...that's why Damien can get deep inside our heart...because he's our representation of pain...and we keep on singing his songs, and we feel like the world is crushing down...but still, we feel good, 'cause we're all in one...not just an elephant
Let me tell you a story, who are miserable right now. I wrote a comment to this song one year ago, because i was listening all day long him. Every word was true, because my life was sucks. I fall in love with a girl, who has someone else. I drunk every day, and i was miserable, really miserable. I still listening, and this song can't let to forget where i was one year ago. Because, as i'm writing this comment, my wife, my love of my life is sleeps downstairs with our daughter. My wife is the same lovely person, who made me to listen to this song. I wish you, to never give up, what you really belive in. Never. (sorry for mistakes)
If possible what did you do to change everything. In particular reverse the mistakes. No idea if you are still active but I remember reading this comment when I first found this song several months ago. I need that hope a bit to see if i can reverse a huge mistake I made with a girl. A girl who really means a lot to me and did not deserve to be wronged the way I wronged her. I don't want to lose her.

Michael Ethan super late, but it was amazing. I cried almost the whole set, because you just can't really believe how powerful this man really is until he's pouring his emotions right in front of you, you know? It's just him and the guitar and his feeling can feel up the whole room and when you see it, you have tears running down your face. Damien is just amazing in the most painful way, and at the same time, funny between songs, always ready to tell a joke. This man... is pure bliss
This has to be my favourite song by Damien Rice, and my favourite song ever. This song is absolutely beautiful in every way; it's smooth to listen to, his voice is amazing, and the emotion he puts into his songs is just.... brilliant. Damien Rice is pretty much all I listen to for music, and everything else doesn't mean anything to me after listening to him.
When a singer has a melody and the lyrics, nothing else is needed when you have the voice and a simple guitar. Damien Rice has it all. Just....Brilliant.
Just listening to his songs move me, but when you actually watch him perform, he's like something I've never seen before, and as beautiful as it is, I can't imagine the thoughts he carries around with him, I hope that some day he finds peace.

absolutley astounding vocals and i dont care what any one says, the way his music makes me feel is spectacular. i often accodsiate him with ray lamontagne as you can listen to there music and just know theyve not had life too easy. damien rice is a genius.

This is so emotional performance! My favourite Damien's song. I believe this song is about his and Lisa's relationship. I think at that time both of them were with other people but as they were in the same band, it was too hard for them to act like friends. They were always on and off and soon after he fired Lisa. I think that song is about his true feelings for Lisa at that time. He was with another girl but he couldn't stop compering her with Lisa. I love the moment when he finishes the song and he turns to Lisa and looks at her. Anyhow...if it's only my interpretation.. I still believe that song is about those situations in life when you are with somebody but you still think or love another person but you know that you must go on.

damien is the number one his voice is not a normal voice i like play an instrument, something like a guitar and a piano.... and in this version of elephant he did something amazing. i lived this situation in my life, and when he sing is like back to past and live it another time.
