Damien Rice - Never (studio version juniper)

Original Juniper studio recording of " NEVER ' from 1996 2FM SESSION... song later becomes "EVE, THE APPLE OF MY EYE" from Bell X1. (Bell X1 is juniper minus damien rice). After Damien Rice left the Band Juniper in 1998, the remaining members changed their name to Bell X1 and changed some lyrics of the song along with the name of the song. The song is now called "eve, the apple of my eye" and would be released on their 2002 album "Music in Mouth". The song would become the bands biggest hit to date and be featured on popular American TV shows such as The O.C..
check out Bell X1 version of same song which just recently showed up in june 2012, it appears Paul Noonan of Bell X1 actually wrote this song afterall

The BellX1 Version is good but Damien Rice gives this song it's full depth and feeling which makes it a GREAT song when Rice does it.

This is so much better than Bell X1 version. Damien Rice voice and expressiveness give it incomparable emotion, intensity and beauty, like no other singer can do. Absolutely love it.

He may not be credited on the BellX1 version, but this song has Damien's songwriting stamp ALL OVER IT. From the brutal honesty and vulnerability of the lyrics (has any other male artist - other than Leonard Cohen - expressed explicitly in song the male anxiety and confusion about female orgasm?) to the broad intervals in the melody that evoke the ache of longing (think Blower's Daughter and Elephant)...I mean, is there really any doubt???

I first heard Damien because of the TV show "Lost", I think you will find your obsession will turn into a lifelong love of his music, it certainly has for me. :)

Damien rice had to write this song...chords are identical to eskimo, lonely soldier..and same timing and chords as cold water...but suppose he doesent deserve credit for Bell x1 Eve apple of me eye as they changed it enough
