The Damnation Audio MBD-2 pedal is an AWESOME bass preamp, boost, overdrive, distortion, and fuzz for bass guitar. It takes the same great sound as the MBD-1 and expands on it.
Controls are Volume, Clean Blend, Tone, Depth, a 20db boost to the distortion circuit, and shift toggle switch for the tone at 300hz and 600hz. Amazing pedal for heavy music.

The Basses:
- MTD 435 Michael Tobias Design American maple burl top on poplar body, wenge neck and fretboard. Active Bartolini pickups and preamp.
- USA Fender Jazz bass. 1962 Reissue with Bartolini CBJD-1 hum cancelling pickups.
- Elrick Hybrid 4 with Bartolini pickups and preamp. Passive mode.
The Amp:
Mesa Boogie Carbine M9 into a RoadReady 6x10 cab.
Speaker was mic'd with an AKG D112. There is no DI signal on this one.
NO eq, audio controls, or compression were added.

The MBD is by far the best bass OD I’ve ever played. I friggen love it. Ever since I got it I’ve had no OD GAS whatsoever. That 20bd boost makes me really want the 2. I’m still very happy with my 1. But that boost really opens up the gain possibilities. Nailed it, as usual, bro!

With bass, I seem to only enjoy clean or fuzz with dry blended in; distortion, even blended w/ dry signal, has a thin, watered down fizziness to my ear. Still hoping to find that middle ground.

I currently use a B7K as a "tone shaper" for doing TOOL bass covers using a 2018 Stingray Special. Would you recommend sticking with the B7K or using the MBD-2? Thanks!
