This performance says hello ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-k96T_l9cTDY.html Seriously, Damon sounds otherworldy in that one...I know I'm two years late, but I beg you to check it out!
@@noursarhan8695 I agree, Damon can't really sing Blur songs in their original keys anymore, this version is a few tones lower, and his lung capacity has shrunk so bad it's really affecting his vocal performance. Smoking and singing only last so long, but he's still an incredible producer. He was an awesome pop singer and the stripped down version you're giving us is my favourite too.
@@pignonMZ6 he still has a beautiful voice which suits a different type of songs like those of his recent solo efforts. It's deeper and richer in tone. But imo it's less versatile than it used to be. If he weren't such a heavy smoker and drinker I think it would've been a bit different
@@noursarhan8695 Damon always had a very deep voice, just listen to early interviews in the 90s and it's clear he had an insane range back then. Today he just sings closer to his speaking voice, but it was always rich, now it's just just limited. That doesn't mean he is bad singer now, his voice still sounds great and he's just as talented if not more. It only means that he cannot access older songs from Blur without changing the key to a place he is comfortable with.
@@pignonMZ6 it's always been deep for sure. It's definitely huskier and thicker now though. It feels more "narrative", more "fatherly" (well of course lol) in a way. It's like listening to a wiseman telling some important truths about life after having seen it all. The richness I'm talking about comes from all that experience, substance use being a part of it. But yeah his vocal range and versatility was undoubtedly way more remarkable before. I'm still more partial to his younger voice
Has he moved the key dowm? Hes only really struggling where he was struggling in the first iteration. If hes kept his voice that good then what a legend
funny they wrote britpop in the end when Damon himself said for Blur the britpop was over in their music after the great escape came out but... The song is from MLIR when they still played britpop wait... what?
