God!! Could Stefan/Damon/Caroline think about killing peoples before they turned!? No nah! So why if Elena does it, it become a huge problem? Damon didn’t fall out love with Katherine after becoming a vampire or he didn’t fall out of love with Elena after becoming human! Stefan didn’t fall out of love with Caroline after becoming human!! This is stupid Elena loved Damon when she was human they even said so thats how the whole sired thing worked. So if Elena took the cure and Damon didn't they would've still worked. Writers just trying to confuse us. And make Delena more complicated.

the Elena of always knows all of that, but it's because she doesn't remember all that she was afraid of becoming human, Kai said he completely changed as a vampire and she got scared, she took the cure and everything still the same because as you said she loved him whether she is human or vampire. like they said being supernatural doesn't change who you are.
I don't get why Bonnie brought it back. They should have just left things as they were. ALL of them had done terrible things at some point during the show, and honestly Damon and Elena remaining vampires forever should have been their payment for it. Adding a prison world cure into the story just ruined everything. No character on this show should have been given a completely happy ending.
I like Enzo for spilling the truth. Damon could not completely internalize himself into a different person for Elena. He could hardly even change in the long-term without her being by his side. That’s mostly because Elena’s “magical influence” was seriously reduced by her becoming a vampire and yet becoming a vampire is what made her fall in love with Damon so I suppose his only option was turning back into a human all along.
Stoyan Petkov Elena was in love with Damon as an 18 yr old human before she turned this is canon.....And Damon proved Enzo wrong he gave up vampirisim (something he loved) to spend a human life with Elena just as Elena once gave up the cure to spend an eternity with Damon through vampirism.....And seeing as they are happily married for 70+ yrs (in love for 16 + years according to the Originals timeline) and had 2 children think it's safe to say that Delena beat out all odds and statistics. Their love was/is eternal even in the after life.
