Apparently Damon and Bonnie was meant to be together like in the books but the lady in charge is racist and wanted him to be with Elena. Which is weird because why would you date someone your brother was with. Then again Damon is a trash person.
Damon in the series had a great redemption arc. He improved so much as a character. Yeah he definitely would have killed Bonnie himself to get Elena back if it was earlier, but this scene proves how much he improved. He didn't let Bonnie die and saved her himself. I feel like not all people understand how hard that is, when Bonnie is the one whose dying would give Elena back.
Bonnie was literally the best friend any of them could have It still being a fact that her entire family including her either died or was murdered unjustly because of her friends but she'd still help in the blink of an eye, That's true love and loyalty
Her dad wasn’t murdered because of her friends, and her grandmother died because she tried to screw Damon over. Her death was 100% preventable by her own accord. The fact her family made it so far and that she was even born, was due to Damon though.
(⚠️ spoiler ⚠️) he hesitated because Kai cast a spell, as long as Bonnie is not dead Elena is in a coma. Damon being his soul mate, he has to wait about 60 years to see Elena again. During these 3 seconds he imagined himself with Elena (he says it 2 minutes after this scene) so I can understand that he thought of his happiness with the love of his life.
At the first minute I imagined having Elena back. By second number two I kissed her. And then I thought that you were my best friend and if anything ever happened to you I would lose my mind. So yes Bonnie I do know how long three seconds are.
“BON BON”- DAMON SALVATORE Bonnie and Damon literally ruled the last seasons with their chemistry alone. Damon and Bonnie had a really special connection in the series. I loved seeing Damon tell her how much he admired her, believed in her, and loved her because he thought she was an incredible woman "literally soulmates". We all KNOW why Bonnie and Damon didn't get together. The superiors (Julie Plec and Caroline Dries) were behind and making excuses 😒👎
Damon and Elena are soulmates not Bonnie and Damon. And Delena has the most powerful chemistry on the show. This isn’t any chemistry between Bonnie and Damon, they are just friends. Elena was the love of life of Damon, his life, his sense of life, his everything
Kat said before in an interview of Ian, they were not very close cause she was young back then and Ian is really older than her, until Ian making her laugh everytime behind the scenes of TVD and then after they end more close on and off screen.

I kissed elena and 3.I remembered your my best friend bonnie and if anything ever happened to you I would loose my mind so yes bonnie I do know how long 3 seconds are. They did so dirty to Bonnie in every aspect. She deserved a happy ending. PS the friendship arc between Bon Bon and Damon was something else it could have been more than that and ppl would love it because of their chemistry.
I mean I would tbh if I was him bc she's connected to elaina and they are constantly getting into trouble so I wouldn't know when I'd die even tho I'm immortal
I would have lowkey liked to have seen something happen with these two. I was a believer that Stefan and Elena should have ended the show together and Damon could have ended up with Bonnie they grew chemistry throughout❤
Then she later on chose Enzo over Damon when sybill gave her a choice. Context: she did that because she was still hurt when Damon left to desicate himself knowing she’ll never see him again.context: Bonny had a Caroline personality where Caroline had feelings for Stefan whilst knowing he’s with and still in love with elana, Bonnie had love feelings for Damon over the bond they shared and Damon being the only one who protected her and put her needs first above all but she was waiting for Damon to make the first move on her because obviously she knows he’s in love with Elena but jsit the thought of her having Damon was in her head, so therefore when he left her that hurt her more than Jeremy dying and leaving and even her dying that hurt her the most in the world although Damon left her to protect because if y’all noticed in season 7 Bonnie became Damon but threatening people and killing for him which is the same exact case with Elena and Damon as to why Damon broke up with Elena because he realize he was changing her and Elena said the same thing that it’s not that there bad for each other but is that they do bad things for each other , which is the same thing Bonnie was doing whilst with Damon. Bonnie never was willing kill for Elena nor Caroline but she never once hesitated when it comes to saving Damon even at the expense of her own life. Bonnie and Damon were in love in the books. If Nina dobrev didn’t left after SZ6 Elena and stefan would have been back together as stated by creator Julie plec. Which means Bonnie and Damon would of been a thing Bonnie and Damon love for each other was stronger than Elena and Damon and it wasn’t close.
