The scene begins on the trunk of a tree, knurled and aged, with the branches too high to see. Someone, dressed in nylon shorts and a tank top, approaches the tree from stage left with a biblical stone tablet on their back, a set of gloves at their waist, and an "Up in Smoke" style 1/4 pounder joint in hand. They light up, and climb out of frame. The sound of a bell can be heard, and leaves begin to fall into frame while flesh on rubber and shoes on matting starts tentatively, then escalates in intensity. At about 35 seconds, what sounds like melon against concrete is heard, and the person, with joint still in teeth, many leaves, and half of the tablet tumble into frame. The contender lands joint first. A plume of smoke and embers consuming their crumbling form. A bell is heard. Scene.

Id like to think that he's taking a break from DMing for CR since there was a mini series taking place with another DM, Matt is just chilling with the grumps for a few days as part of a well earned vacation Edit: my god Brennan, in 4 long sessions, made my heart go places and gave me more rush of emotions than the entirety of campaign 3 so far. Matt pick me up I'm scared

FWIW, Arin was himself referencing a very old Louis CK bit. Like '90s old - he did the bit on Dr Katz in 1995. I don't know for sure when it was in his usual stand-up comedy routine though. Edit - my bad, wrong episode. It was in a 1998 episode.

@@Lou-Mae Yup, instantly recognized the Louis CK bit. I don't remember where I heard it from, though; I was definitely too young in '98 to have caught that one.

I think Dan also referenced that in a 10MPH episode with Jack where they did the thumbs game.

Used coffin isn't necessarily that hard to get. Just dig it up, toss out the body, maybe clean out any gross decomposition fluids, and you have a used coffin you can sell

I know that Matt is a phenomenal voice actor and is kind of well-known for really good voice matching, I think it be fucking hilarious to have him on an episode of game grumps but they pretend that it’s Arin the whole time and he’s doing his closest Arin impression and see if anyone can notice
