Can't believe I forgot to mention that the Lu in Bailu's name means dew which is associated with Abundance. In Fables About the Stars, Black Swan describes Yaoshi as: "The tender sprouts will grow to the sky, and the dew that falls from their branches will rid you of sickness and poison." This is consistent with dew as a fruit of immortality as described in the Borisin Folk Song Collection's 'Duran's Pilgrimage to the Master of Immortality.' More hints from Hoyo that Bailu is the Bloomborn Scion and a product of Abundance's power. There's also the abundance mechanic of the Dewdrop in Simulated Universe. And I also forgot to mention she has an Eidolon called Ambrosial Aqua lmao.

I'm still partial to Bailu's looks just because I think we don't have enough info yet to rule out possibilities. They could still pull something down the line that explains a connection. I don't believe Baiheng=Bailu but Bailu having Baiheng's dna mixed in the process of making her unintentionally is an angle I could see them going for. Despite the little amount that was left of Baiheng just to make the big reveal of her creation more messed up with the way they are side pushing Bailu into the HCQ story. Even with all I just said have to agree you have a point with the look alikes. Nothing to do with each other but looking alike helping further the misdirection and masking what actually happened. Either way they are playing the audience. I also want to thank you for adding the CN context that gets lost in translation. It really changes some povs. We end up missing these little details with no way for EN to be able to fully explain without footnotes. Looking forward to your next video would love to hear about the simulated universe more!

Honestly I think this theory could be true. In Lalody's last video on this, they talk abt how the Sanctus Medicus and Dan Shu's predecessor experimented on combining different long life species together. So maybe they used parts of Baiheng to create Bailu?
@redjellyfishs
@redjellyfishs 3 месяца назад
@@Lilackity It's fishy. I think it would of been logical if they used parts of her if she had anything left of her besides a single hair and blood. It's very important detail imo how they tell the story of her dying with nothing left. Which does make me doubt but idk how deep they will go with a fantasy side of things magic and all to explain it vs a more logical side. My one theory is her blood drops got absorbed into the branch they used to make Bailu and that's why she has such DNA without her being Baiheng. My only other thoughts is they actually did use the strain of hair/blood in making the dragon. Then Sanctus Medicus and Dan Shu's teacher used the dragon later to combined into their experiments but I don't believe she is anything related to the making of the dragon in the first place so. We'll get answers eventually...

Interesting video! I'm mostly interested in Jingliu tho. How could she torture her former comrade without any actual evidence of his crime? She never saw him bringing Shuhu's flesh anywhere, but spoke about it with such a certainty. No one had a trial over Yingxing. From where did she get the idea of resurrecting Baiheng? She should have known Yingxing and Dan Feng well. How could she allow herself to be deceived so easily knowing about Shuhu's powers? And why did she apologise to the abomination?
@LalodysLore
@LalodysLore 7 месяцев назад
She certainly believed Yingxing was responsible for the presence of Shuhu at the sedition, which is a reasonable assumption to make when he was previously an old man that has now gained immortality. The preceptors would have gone to a lot of effort to set them up to appear guilty. Jingliu believed them enough to assault them at the Scalegorge based off their word, already, so it's not a jump to say what she saw there solidified it for her - this is the basis of a setup to frame someone. Resurrecting Baiheng would be the assumption she made because she was the one who was impacted by Baiheng's death the most. She had described Baiheng as her reason to live, previously, so the loss would have hit her really hard. She was already 1000 years old and nearly marastruck so was not of a sound mind at this time. The combination of the lies, Yingxing's immortality, and the Baiheng-related hallucinations would have formed a "clear picture" of what was going on inside her mind. Make no mistake, the HCQ weren't real friends. Jingliu even refers to Yingxing as an acquaintance at some point during Clouds Leave No Trace. Jing Yuan likes to paint a picture of a happy group of friends but they were realistically Jingliu's hyper-competent elite hunting squad. Blade tells us they drank together to drown their sorrows. They were definitely friendly enough while Baiheng was still alive but don't make the mistake in believing they were all genuinely close BFFs with each other.

@@LalodysLore "She certainly believed Yingxing was responsible for the presence of Shuhu at the sedition, which is a reasonable assumption to make when he was previously an old man that has now gained immortality." It's still just an assumption. Maybe he was a victim himself. I'm impressed by how she never even doubted Yingxing's guilt after centuries (or did she? We don't know everything what she's thinking about after all). I understand her actions don't really have to make sense, but damn... She really has fallen. "The combination of the lies, Yingxing's immortality, and the Baiheng-related hallucinations would have formed a "clear picture" of what was going on inside her mind". I agree. Several factors definitely played the role: Baiheng's death itself; the idea of Dan Feng and Yingxing betraying her, Baiheng and the Alliance (they were still comrades-in-arms even if I have overestimated their closeness with each other previously); Shuhu's manipulation; her age and weakening mind in general (I guess it could have diminished her ability to analyse things as well).

This video explained so much about the Xianzhou Luofu storyline. But I'm still a little confused on what Dan Feng and Yingxing were actually doing at the arbor when they were framed. If they weren't trying to resurrect Baiheng or create a new Vidyathara High Elder, why were they using the flesh of Shushu? Is it possible that Dan Feng was trying to ascend to the power of Long? My current theory is that Dan Feng wanted to destroy the roots of the Ambrosial Arbor once and for all to stop deaths caused by wars of abundance, such as Baiheng's. Maybe he believed that this could only be done using the flesh of an emanator of abundance, and had Yingxing help him with Shushu's flesh. I'm not completely sure about that, but this video sold me on the idea that Dan Heng was framed. Also, love the theory that Ruan Mei played a role in creating Bailu. It makes a lot of sense considering her desire to create emanators and questionable experiments.

I think I have to watch this around 12 times to really gather my thoughts but it was a very succinct explanation on your thoughts around what happened! the underlying theme of the xianzhou story focusing on "being deceived" has juicy connotation for literally anything coming from the alliance down the way, and i'm eager to see how it's further expounded on through penacony as well. honestly when you brought up everything around dan feng's dragon I had to sit down lol. and i personally love the "jingliu sounds like she knows everything but is actually the most in the dark" hints, I hope they do more with her character later on. like i said though, gonna rewatch a few times now lolololol

I love this theory, honestly you’re probably the theorist I believe the most but I have a question, what if another goal of Dan Feng was to destroy or at least damage the arbour? In his conversation with Yingxing, he says that ‘as long as the arbour still stands’ more and more people would be sacrificed (I’m going off of memory so I’m sorry if I got any of this wrong 😭) and it’s mentioned that the arbour was damaged in the sedition so do you think its possible?
@LalodysLore

Yep I really really do. I'm currently considering the possibility that Yingxing died so they could go to the Nihility to suck up water and make a mega quantum dragon and attack the img abundance tree and perhaps Shuhu (who was sucked into the black hole via Baiheng but immortal so probably didn't die in there) was the key to Yingxing's resurrection (Shuhu's GIFT) since Yaoshi seems to exist to heal Sin Thirsters 🤔 this could have led to Dan Feng needing to stabilize Yingxing and the influence of Shuhu corrupted the dragon. Just a theory but strangely viable cause Yingxing worked with Heliobi that are associated with the nihility and his research being focused on the nihility makes infinitely more sense than *checks notes* turning assorted races into dragons.

One thing I'm so confused about is why Blade seems to blame Dan Feng/Dan Heng for a lot despite being in on the plan. If Dan Feng was framed/innocent, and really was just trying to transfer the High Elder position (from what I can tell??? Someone do correct me if I got it wrong), Yingxing should have known about it, because he was helping Dan Feng. Unless some part of the plan wasn't explained to Yingxing in the first place, and he misinterpreted what Dan Feng was doing? Which is really unfortunate. That makes me question what Yingxing thought Dan Feng was doing, and if Blade even remembers it or was simply informed through *very* biased and probably deceptive news after Dan Feng's imprisonment.
@LalodysLore
@LalodysLore Месяц назад
It's because he doesn't actually hate Dan Feng and was psychologically conditioned through torture to hunt him down and bring the feeling of death to him by Jingliu. When you realize that Blade is literally a metaphor for Jingliu's weapon, his behaviours make much more sense, including the way he treats her nicely during clouds leave no trace despite wanting to kill her - Jingliu wants Blade to kill her because Jingliu felt guilty about killing the soldiers, not because she hates herself the way she hates Dan Feng for what she thinks he did.

I do agree that Dan Feng did get framed… however I still think that Bailu is the reincarnated Baiheng. Bailu starts dreaming when she left the Astral express (during one of the character visits). I think that traveling or going through the stars may have triggered her past life memories… Kind of like when we’re where visiting Scalegourge Waterscape and Dan Heng started to recall some people in his past life… How Baiheng re-incarnated would have turned into Bailu is the thing that still perplexes me… considering how little DNA was left when her life ended…🤔

DHIL CQ told us that Bailu lied, she has had dreams for a long time, as told to us by her old maid who got killed by the preceptors. The dream was not triggered by her going on AE. In addition, according to JY in JL CQ, BH never got the chance to step foot onto the AE, so there was no memory of past life about the AE for her to remember, BH or not. That was another piece of red herring that they put in to mislead people. Bailu was likely made out of the ancient sea water, which contained the vids' past memories ever since the establishment of Luofu. She herself also actively uses the water, which is in her gourd, to treat people and to fight. Hanya told us that Bailu carried something heavy on her like from thousands of years ago. The most likely situation here is that Bailu was made from that memory-filled sea water by the preceptors and inherited the accumulative memories of all the vids contained in the ancient sea. It's actually a NGE reference, and you have also seen it in the memory constructs of Penacony.

@@RenHengstuffs Actually, if anything, Bailu hiding the fact that she does have dreams because the preceptors would kill anyone she told that secret to is proof that she wasn't originally a Viddayadara in her past life. Because if she was then they would have no reason to kill anyone she spoke about her past life with, they'd have no reason to want to keep it a secret. But her not being a Viddayadara in her past life would cause them to want to silence anyone she speaks with. Why? Because the truth would cause people to ask uncomfortable questions like why did the transmutation fail before and why did it succeed now? And if they had any sort of let's say inference with that then it would put them in deep shit, and whoops turns out there are other dragon elders who could tell if their excuses were true or not. And when you consider her name when written in Chinese characters, and the lore but that states that, no Dan Feng turning Baiheng into a Viddayadara is neither illegal, nor all that strange to the Viddayadara people, and that the actual reason for why Dan Feng was arrested was because of the abominatiom then it becomes even more clear.

I don't think all the hints that Bailu and Baiheng are related are simply red herrings or coincidences; I mean it COULD be, but there's still too many unclear facts in this event that can be interpreted multiple ways to say one way or another. I really think the Sedition events will be revisited later, and hopefully clarified both for players and the remaining Quintet members themselves.

A bit of criticism, I can buy some of with but when you got to the character design you were reaching and in doing so you didn't address the actual theory. The reason why people note the Bai in Bai Heng and Bailu is not just because just because they both share the Bai in their names. Dan Heng and Dan Feng also share the characters of Dan in their names as well. The differences in the bangs can be chalked up to the the fact that Bai Heng is in a 2d drawing while Bailu is a 3d model and one is older while Bailu is younger. The same holds true for Dan Heng and Dan Feng, the same hair and eye color but different hairstyle and horns (they actually have different horns). Also your excuses to say that they aren't alike just resulted in you coming across as reaching to the point where you started to discredit yourself. Because it's one thing for them to have an eye color, in common it's another for them to have hair color, name, and design motif in common one thing is an accident all of those things at once is intentional, and the fact that the only other two characters that are like this are reincarnations and that is the context of the similarities as they are related to that plotline makes your attempt to explain it away very weak. Sometimes the simplest explanation is the right one. The preceptors could have easily have used the Abomination's remains to create Bailu. The abomination being Baiheng would still make Bailu Baiheng's reincarnation. As for why it failed like I said in the comment previous video the preceptors could easily have messed up the transmutation, hence why Dan Feng was so surprised it failed, because it shouldn't have, but Dan Feng would have been smart enough to realize that the preceptors had something to do with it and they had set him up. Nothing he said would have made them give up. The preceptors are very mum about what it is what Dan Feng actually did because of they bring it up then the other Vidyadhara elders would have their heads as like Dan Febg stated the array should have worked as it has worked countless times before, the only reason why it would fail would be if it was tampered with.
@LalodysLore
@LalodysLore 7 месяцев назад
I'll address these points in order: 1. You've assumed that, because Dan Heng and Dan Feng share the Dan part of their names, that this is some Vidyadhara tradition that Bailu has followed. This is actually false - Dan Heng was referred to as Dan Feng up until he was exiled (see Appeal From a Vidyadhara Part 2). He changed the Feng to Heng. They kept calling him Dan Feng because everyone and their cow knows he wasn't properly reincarnated like a normal Vidyadhara. Vidyadhara do not normally share a name with their previous lives (See Cong, in the quest 'Poetic Genius Ingenium.') Also note that the Dan in Dan Heng and Dan Feng for CN counts as a surname, where the Bai in Bailu and Baiheng does not (but it does for Bai Xiao) as indicated by the spacing in EN. 2. As far as I'm aware, no version of Bailu (2D or 3D) shares a match with the bangs of Baiheng, but feel free to correct me if you find some. 3. Dan Feng's horns change size and seem to have gotten smaller after sedition. This is intentional - you can see the horn size difference at the end of the Myriad by comparing Dan Heng in the reflection. He had longer horns before the sedition, based on artwork. This could be related to the preceptors removing his horns (stated by JL in Clouds Leave No Trace), but DH:IL idle animation also shows the horns becoming longer, so it may just be something he has control over and can choose how he wants to show them. 4. I stated that I think the similarities are likely intentional but that it's a red herring. Jingliu has to believe Bailu is Baiheng, but the audience, with extra information she is not aware of, knows that it is not true. 5. The simplest explanation is handed to us on a silver platter - Dan Shu literally acknowledges that Sanctus Medicus created Bailu. Don't forget that the Baiheng = Bailu theory is the crack theory that goes against canon evidence, not the other way around. 6. Hypothetically, if they used the abominations remains in their experiments to create Bailu and the abomination did in fact contain the remains of Baiheng (and I explained many times why this is not the case), that would not make Bailu a reincarnation of Baiheng. At best, accounting for all the parts of Baiheng DNA + blood of my race + abomination juice, Bailu might be considered closer to a genetic daughter/granddaughter of Baiheng's than an actual reincarnation, where Vidyadhara reincarnations share the same DNA each time. Dan Feng specified that he was using the "Soul of my Ancestor" which also means that the soul of the abomination was that of a Dragon and not Baiheng's. 7. Considering that the Preceptors were literally tortuing Dan Feng for any information on the transmutation arcanum, I don't think they themselves actually knew the first thing about it. Any special information they pretended that they had for Dan Feng was clearly fake or from an outside source. They didn't actually have to understand it themselves, they just had to make Dan Feng agree to start creating a dragon and then introduce Shuhu in order for their plan to be successful.

@LalodysLore 1. I never said it was Viddayadara tradition. Please do not miscontrue my words out. It only hurts your argument, as only people who are insecure about their own arguments will purposefully misquote the opposing side. I merely said that they have the Bailu and Bai Heng have the Bai part of their name the same as with Dan Heng and Dan Feng. This is from a player and dev perspective and is used to drop hints to the player. That's actually a very common tool used in visual media to hint that two characters have a connection without outright saying it. As such, you haven't addressed my argument, and my point still stands. 2. And again, this is such a weak argument that it doesn't help your point. It merely looks like you're nitpicking. It not being 1:1 does not erase the fact that it is similar. 3. Actually, you are incorrect. Dan Heng's horns are larger than Dan Feng’s both in his idle and out of it. Dan Feng's horns are just smaller than Dan Heng's all together, and yes, that's even if you do compare Dan Feng from the HCQ art to regular Dan Heng. In fact, Dan Feng's horns in the HCQ art are the same size as his horns in Ichor of the two dragons animation. As for his horns being cut off. Dan Heng's horns have a golden decoration around them that is likely where his horns were cut off. And his idle might be what they would look like if they hadn't been chopped off. 4. Neither Blade nor Jingliu state that they believe that Bailu is Baiheng. It's actually Jing Yuan who shows that he believes that, and he has far more information than the other two. Sometimes, a red herring isn't a red herring. Don't be quick to write off similarities. 5. Close but no cigar. Your argument merely explains that the Santus Medicus suceeded where Dan Feng failed, but it doesn't disprove the theory that Bailu was created from Bai Heng. The abomination was killed by Jingliu herself, and yet she still believes that Bailu is Bai Heng's reincarnation, according to you. But I hope you've noticed the rather glaring hole in your argument. Why would Jingliu still believe that Bailu is Bai Heng when it was she that killed the abomination? She would know better than anyone that the experiment failed. Also, whatever happened to the remains of the abomination? The Santus Medicus can't make something out of nothing, what did they use as a basis for Bailu? You can't say it's Shu Shu since by that point Shu Shu was locked up, and we know that Dan Feng hid his research from them, which they weren't able to find. That would have forced them to use the remains of the abomination after all it too is a monster of the Abundance and has Shu Shu's cells so it would be the perfect sample since they'd have a lot of it, and could better hide their activities.
@brightlight8852
@brightlight8852 7 месяцев назад
@LalodysLore I sent in a reply before but it's not showing up even though I hit the reply button. 6. Actually, she would still be the reincarnation of Bailu just not the first one. It just means that she is also the reincarnation of the abomination and would add in an extra reason for them to hide how she was created and her past lives. Because if she was created from anyone else then they could have easier hid what she was because as the lore for Viddayadara explains its not uncommon for them to turn other species into Viddayadara. Ergo it's actually not illegal. 7. You're kinda proving the very thing that you seek to disprove here. The preceptors didn't know what they were doing, hence why they went to the Santus Medicus, hence why they would have ended up using the abomination hence why they would have done what they did because they didn't know what they doing. You don't need to know what you're doing to mess up someone else's work.

@@brightlight8852 1. I assumed that was the argument you were trying to make because why else bring up Dan Heng's name unless you were implying a similarity of naming between reincarnations. You keep saying my arguments are weak, but this one of yours is the equivalent of "trust me bro" especially when I've already explained in the video the origins of both Bailu and Baiheng's names, as well as the presence of at least 2 other characters with the same Bai. "Used to drop hints to the player" I'm sure it is... explain that to Dan Feng and Dan Shu's names. 2. I've acknowledged they're similar in the video. I've also brought up examples of other characters that are much more similar: See Cyno and Razor, where even their skills are similar. 3. I'm not incorrect? See the pic of HCQ with the order YX, DF, JY, JL, BH near the IL statue where Dan Feng's horns are very long. Dan Heng's golden decoration has nothing to do with the topic. I said they can probably change the length as they want to, like how he does in DH:IL idle animation. Not sure what you're trying to say, here. 4. Why do JL and Blade have to "state" what they believe, but it's fine for JY to "show" that he believes it. I actually disagree with your take: JY is in the best position to know that Bailu is young and of mysterious origin, since he has been seeing her once a year, likely to monitor her growth and figure out how the hell they suddenly created a new HE, a big deal for the Luofu political scene. Jingliu, on the other hand, claims Blade visited Bailu for a different kind of medicine - she likely told him to go look at her in her invitation to him for the meetup, just as she drags Dan Heng to look at see her on the way through. Since, in your first point, you want to bring up player and dev perspective: There have been many, many cases in the past where similar appearances have been enough to fuel theories about x character being y's reincarnation. Hoyo is aware of that and know exactly how to make a casual audience perceive that, despite it being logically extremely unlikely, especially when some of the things that NPCs claim about her is just strictly false, such as Dan Feng selecting her as his successor. 5. Alright, if you want to get really technical about this, there's technically not even any evidence that Jingliu successfully killed the Abomination. We know she froze it, but we didn't get confirmation that it actually died. In fact, during her fight with Blade there's a hidden frame that shows Jing Yuan and Jingliu dueling in an environment that looks very similar to the sedition site (and looks nothing like the scenery in A Flash). It is possible Jing Yuan interfered, or she was simply unable to kill it since it contained Shuhu - in fact it would inconsistent with established Shuhu lore if she COULD kill it. There is, of course, the mysterious schrodinger's shuhu box that needs both the Marshal's and 10 Lords approval to open. There's also the dragon that swims around in the ocean surrounding the Scalegorge Waterscape - of course, the initial assumption is that this is the Azure Dragon controlled by Dan Heng, but the Azure Dragon is the only dragon to not be depicted with any legs (except randomly in the new LNY animation, but that's made up by Gongshu). We currently have no explanation for what that dragon is, right now, or why it is allowed to roam free like that. As for what Sanctus Medicus used as the basis for Bailu: Arbor branches, apparently. And they're not even sure how they succeeded, since Dan Shu calls her a miracle they probably won't be able to replicate. As the research, you have no evidence that it was about the events of the sedition, especially since Yingxing is described as distinctly middle-aged and is shown as elderly by the time the sedition happened. Not to mention, that research that was being conducted was by Yingxing and literally what does he know about advanced Vidyahdara biology and creating a new High Elder? Let alone to have the confidence to figure it out in two hours... If you mean the secrets of the transmutation arcanum, I think it's pretty obvious from Yunhua's experiments that they were working on grafting the power of the permanence onto assorted things using Vidyadhara cells and observing the results. Who says they needed the abomination to create her? Dan Shu had access to a forbidden tome that granted the reader super intelligence, as well as just being a prodigy in her own right. She could have very well expanded on those experiements and hit a lucky miracle with Bailu and been unable to replicate it before she was busted in the story (especially with the Vidyadhara issues being of secondary concern to her).
