@JayDH100 I need to organize a mike, then I'll do some more. Your playing style is spot on and guitar sound great. I saw Dan in concert six times and met him fleetingly back stage in 2003 at his Soundstage performance in Chicago. A special moment for me. People like you and me can do him proud by being living legacies.

Great job Jay! Best Dan songs on the tube by far! Tx for playing and posting Dan's music, and doing them so well! He was such a huge influence on me as a musician! Along with Neil Young, Dan Fogelberg was my guitar and piano teacher as I started playing music! There was no internet or U tube back in 1975, so I just listened and learned! Tx again and all the best as you journey Ever On!

I will be at the Memorial this year. Yes, I've worked up a version of "Nature of the Game" and I love it -- awesome song. Most people just don't have any idea of the breadth of styles that Dan played and wrote. Blues is just plain fun!

John, "Hard To Say" is in Open D tuning (D A D F# A D). The chord you're referring to is a Gsus4(add2). String 1 -- Open; String 2 -- Open; String 3 -- 1st Finger, First Fret (G); String 4 -- Open; String 5 -- Third Finger, Third Fret (C); String 6 -- Muted. Maybe easier: X-C-D-G-A-D. I was very unsatisfied with the way I was playing this until RU-vid came along and I was able to study Dan's concert video to get the correct guitar technique / arrangement. Your video helped also! I see you're using a Martin guitar -- right on!!! I have several other DF covers out there, do you? Stay with it! Ever On.

You've done a great job with this, one of my favorite Dan songs. I am trying to learn the song myself but am stumped by the chord in the Chorus over the words "It's so hard to say" (at 2:13 on your video). If you remember what it is, I'd appreciate your help with this chord. Thanks.

are you by any chance going to/performing at the fogelberg reunion this year? i hope so. haven't cleared my schedule yet but hope to. like some others, would really like to see your stuff in a tutorial form for those of us who would like to approach your level of accomplishment. nature of the game, can you do that one yet? it's on my bucket list

I appreciate the opinion, but it's your opinion, not mine. I'm not doing anything original in this -- I'm simply covering my favorite Fogelberg songs and HIS performance of the tune in the style HE played them.
