@@Talkin_MMA I mean it's a pretty good title. Guy was a great fighter and even more importantly a great guy too. More than most people will ever achieve
@@Talkin_MMA wht you ever achieved in your life . Dan is a former title challanger , a millionaire .. i think he has achived 10 folds of what u will ever achieve ..
Don't know why this has dislikes. I don't agree with how Ariel sometimes instigates things but him and Dan are the only ones who'll call out the UFC and Dana's corruption when they see it. You need people like them.
Bro I see your point in general but let's be real a big bad ex fighter got in2 a verbal with a FEMALE cohost and lost the argument and took it to the next level and pushed his weight around, it might be normal for a fighter in his environment to act like a bully, but not in a normal work space let alone to a WOMAN. After all that he decides to jump in and shout at herb, which is so bad and unprofessional because his team mate got beat bad, and now says herb was coming towards me fast lol. Ufc had no choice mate.
@@was786loaded He didn’t “jump in” lmao. He shouted and stood up. And he didn’t do it because he was his teammate, he did it because he was clearly unconscious and Herb was making the winner punch a defenseless man in the head even more to secure his W
@@was786loaded man, this version of events you've listed is so far from the truth it literally looks like you've manipulated the narrative purposefully due to some grudge against him. You literally didn't even get the order of the events remotely correct, herb dean scenario was first.
@@mutton_man he doesn't know as no one has ever said it was a female co-host, he's literally conjuring this up himself from nowhere. If I were to bet it was probably Dana's assistant Lenay. Hardy literally says it was someone who organises the press side of things so clearly this guy can't even listen to the interview
I really would love to see Dan back at UFC Commentary. All the commentators are great but the expertise that Dan brings with his knowledge as well as speech is second to none!
It doesn’t matter if herb dean is messing up , Dan should of keep it dam mouth shut It’s not his job or his place to stick his dam nose where it don’t belong The problem is …. Herb has been with the ufc for forever and Dan crossed the line Dam goodball
@@NicolaMaxwell When I was a kid and watched wrestling when Stone Cold and The Rock were wrestling. The Rock used to call everyone a "Jabroni" 😂 Ariel is a wrestling fan so I've always assumed that's why he says it. Just not sure why he says "Jabrone" and not "Jabroni"? 🤔 One of them saying it wrong? Different variations of the same word? 🤷♂️
@@closinginonclosure Yea, you nailed it actually. The word has been around since the 80's, and it was heavily popularized by The Rock in the mid 90's. I watched too. Jabrone is the actual word, Jabroni is just a spin on it to make it funnier and appeal to the silly showman crowd. Jabrone is slang for moron, silly, fool, dummy, or someone who doesn't get it, or someone who's too slow to keep up in conversation or competition. It's basically, hey Dumb dumb
@@floatinggoose9197 Ah right on. Yeah, I assumed it meant something offensive like that based on the context. And what you said about The Rock and why he said it differently, makes sense. I know Ariel likes wrestling and has said he especially loved the later 90s - earlier 2000s era. So I always assumed it's what influenced him to say it. I appreciate the insight my man 🙌 The more you know.
Noo would much rather see him in One. He’ll have opportunities to fight muay thai over there and striking was always his strength. He mentioned fighting John Wayne Parr and I think that would be awesome, Nieky Holzken is a really tough fight but that would be cool as well.
I was gonna leave the same comment about Bellator....I hope so too, he was great when watching the European Broadcasts.... Ariel is right , I don't wanna see him get Hurt Like Diaz....U never know though he could be worst, the same or even better... Omg that's funny he just called out Diaz....lol...
Josh Thompson was a legit elite LW for many years. Dan Hardy realistically was a journeyman who benefited from having a great relationship with the UFC.
Dan hardy is an absolute legend. Met him at his UFC debut and I was massively impressed by his character even just to have a chat and a photo afterwards. Could tell he is a good chap. The embicile who reported him and got him constructively-dismissed should be ashamed for being so pathetic.
Weird seeing the dislikes. No matter what you thjnk of his departure from the UFC (completely unfair imo) he is not only one of the best analysts in the sport, but a great commentator too.
@@erick7704 he literally got pulled to his feet which goes against the rules for 1 so why does it matter whether its for a title or not... we don't make exceptions because that's how people end up dead and how we end up without MMA, which is still a young sport
And I was at Hardy vs Swick in 09’ AND his last fight in his hometown Nottingham against Amir Sodolla! Proud he’s English, him, Bisping & Pickett, love that time
Herb Dean should have lost his job that night. Everyone at home was shouting stop the fight. If the ref had done his job there wouldn’t be any issue. Dan is a legend, the UFC made a huge mistake with that whole thing. One of the worst pieces of refereeing in UFC history.
Refs are only human. Mistakes happen unfortunately in any walk of life. That's the risk fighters take when they sign the dotted line. Herb dean is a good ref.
You cant fire Herb based on that, it wasn't really that bad to be honest. Far worse things have happened. But you also can't fire Dan Hardy because of his reaction
The UFC has tons of guys and coaches that can break down fights: Cormier, Felder, Din Thomas, Bisping, and contributing analyst like Chiesa, Woodley, and they have ESPN Brazil as well.
@@JS-cg4ji Isn’t that with any TV show? The Director tells you the topic you should discuss and what not to discuss. It’s normal in 99.9% of media, unless you have your own media company
@@ThianDeVries really??? you mean the ufc hires fighters who fought somewhere else first??? 🤯 damn crazy! Well now that you brought it up what organization did Dan hardy have his magical run in???
Talks absolute sense, with zero bullshyt. Dan is an asset that the UFC totally undervalued and have let slip by. He loves his sport, he's a fantastic analyst and presenter. As a new-ish UFC fan, Dan has totally transformed my understanding of the intricacies of the sport by watching his fight breakdowns. Really missed on the broadcasts. Great that he's got his story out and thank god for BT keeping him on.
He accused Bellator of fixed fights, said the fighters aren't on the same level as ufc skill wised. He's said other things about bellator that makes me think they wouldn't hire him.
People are strange, Dan, and I'm so happy you're going to continue to thrive post UFC. As for Herb Dean, has anyone noticed how he does the Hokey Cokey when he's unsure whether he should stop a fight or not, in out in out shake it all about
Dan Hardy is The BEST MMA Analyst out there. Dedicated student of the game, thorough, concise, objective & eloquent in his analysis. Wish you all the best, Champ.
Something needs to be done about this. The guy is the best guy they would have by a mile. Black balling someone for being passionate and a single transgression is crazy.
I am glad that Dan spoke out. He is so hard on himself that he normally doesn't speak details of his ufc issue in his platform. Good that Ariel pressed him and now we know what really happened
Would love to see Hardy back in some kinda combat sport. I believe him when he says he’s learned so much being a fan and announcer. Just depends if the body can respond in same manner
" *Dan caring that he wants the sport to grow with the least amount of unnecessary long term cognitive damage as possible* " Badazz Keyboard Warriors: 🤬
Yeah right. Moral of the story is he shouldn’t have said nothin’ to begin with nor should he have tried to justify it. Maybe he cared too much but UFC is actually a ruthless corporation. They don’t care about then fighters outside liability concerns and they definitely don’t care about Dan Hardy.
Yes it was a good interview felt bad for Dan but glad he’s doing ok ! I wonder who the chick is that snitched on him was it Olivia? Or that new chick who now commentates? She’s blonde and annoying
I had the pleasure of meeting Dan in Tokyo. I went over to him, and he was an absolute gentleman. We had a nice chat and took a photo together. It made my day and week. He's awesome at breaking down fights and his analysis is second to none. I wish him all the best!
I think a lot of people who don't know /understand/ like fighting see fighters as being knuckleheads. The reality is they are usually very smart people. Dan is a perfect example of this.
sounds very much like something I've heard before, good to be on the "outside" to be able to speak honestly. Respect to you Mr. Hardy, have always appreciated your input and analysis. Keep up the good work. Onwards and upwards.
Thanks so much for your telling the truth about Herb Dean! That guy has been slipping for years and nobody has brought it home to him but Greg! Keep your chin up man! I saw the same exact thing you did and respect your speaking up!
That was heartfelt. Hang in there Dan. I wish they'd get rid of DC. He's a terrible commenter who simply doesn't shut up. I have to mute the fights all the time as he just goes on and on and on and on.
I guess he was just a contractor. If he were fully employed, they can't just let him go with a giant question mark. He could get a case going in the legal system if so
Depends what the laws are in Vegas. If it's a right to work state or an at will state. Technically you can be fired for anything and they dont have to tell you, at least where I live.
Dan was a great commentator. The passion as an observer was palpable when he commentated. Such a shame, his “equivalent” rn is Felder but Hardy is much less fighter-minded and is incredibly analytical.
Unlike some of the other commentators, Dan is truly obsessed with the sport. He does his research on ALL the fighters. He reminds me of Brian Stann in that respect.
I feel like the best mma fight analysts are people who actually fought at the top level like Dan. He does a great job. But when it comes to returning after 10 years I believe it's not a good idea. Specially when he even says he can't compete with the top fighters.
It speaks volumes about Dana Whites character that he won't even acknowledge Dan about being fired, especially as Dana was always such a fan of Dan as a fighter. As far as the Herb Dean incident goes, it's only a matter of time before we see a fighter left as a vegetable after taking unessasary punishment. Dana White will stand at the post fight press conference and say what a tragedy it is and someone will have to be accountable for it,oh,the irony of it all.
This guy genuinely loves & is very passionate about the sport of MMA, has the best interests of fighters in mind, and truly cares about fighter's safety. He can talk the talk because he has walked the walk. He went the distance with one of the greatest MMA legends and UFC hall of famer George St. Pierre
