How do you evolve past simplicity and directness? And how can a guy who trained hardcore 24/7 who was doing hundreds to thousands of reps a day for around 15 years, give a take a few days or weeks off, develop a system that was “still in its infancy”? We aren’t talking about a normal person here. We are talking about someone who trained like a fantastic and was incredibly naturally gifted. The problem with jeet kune do is it’s been so poorly misrepresented for 50 years most people don’t know or underhand the art.
@@alexrain1188 you know what, I’m sick and fucking tired of seeing comments like yours all over RU-vid pushing this idea that you can “evolve” simplicity and directness in martial arts, by making it MORE COMPLICATED by *adding* more styles and techniques. You don’t underhand Bruce’s process and like many focus way too much on what he said and not what he DID. Bruce was stripping, not adding. That is what he DID and that is how he trained. This is fact, not opinion. But you all have this idea it’s “stuck” because it hasn’t added all this new stuff which isn’t even new anyway. It’s all variations of stuff that’s always been around. Links probably don’t work, so I am going to advise you to check out John Paul Daily’s channel. He is a JKD instructor. 9:00 to 11:43 was very interesting. I have heard that Bruce did fight from a third person perspective. And I believe that it's very possible that he did, because he could do other things that no one else could. The man was beyond amazing.

I am really happy and proud that i met Guro Inosanto at a two days Inosanto Kali and JKD seminar long time ago. He is just fantastic as everyone expect from him, by his martial Art and his kindness. A really great man.
My instructor in Krav Maga trained in one of Dan inosanto’s group class. He says it was so awesome listening to him go on a tangent about weird and unheard stories and mixing that with forms and techniques. Cool dude from what I hear.
Transcendance is totally empowering. you go from zero to hero in a second. The real secret is wisdom in disciplining and flowing with the Panther in near and present danger. A tad of the Panther is enough for every day dealings. The sight of the Panther is enough to persuade potential threats. Of course you do have to know confidence in your presentation as a fighter. we all know that dan is a true legend and how he describes what bruce believed and how he addapted his traing you really do get that lightening bolt hit you that bruce really did know his stuff and his mindset on how to combine and put stuff together was way ahead of its time, its fair to say he was the father of MMA
Thank you for sharing this awesome video. What Master Inosanto and Lee teaching is not just about Martial Arts. It's about applying what you know (knowledge) to different situations that will be effective. Most people learned by memorization at the beginning. Only masters / experts will take their learning and transcend it to different area.
As is commonly known Bruce was born in the year of the dragon but also in the hour of the dragon - destined to be martial arts royalty, the Jesus Christ of Martial arts.
When he says that Bruce was “no longer in the body” and able to see from a 3rd angle , is it possible that Bruce was so relaxed during fighting that he could astral project his consciousness ? Almost like astral travelling? It makes one wonder ! 🧐
"Attributes slightly more important than just the technique according to Sijo Bruce" The combination of an athletic body that can execute the movement with a mind that can learn and apply the technique properly. Wise words to remember for those who do far too much technique training but for go the training to improve their athletic ability. But also just as important to have instructors that seem from Guro Dan in the sense of learning the art of Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do. My lineage stems to my instructor Sifu Peter Nguyen who earned full instructorship from Guro Dan Inosanto.
yuan romero he's definitely responsible for finding it decades ago. it's amazing how if you think about his theory and mma now. it's exactly what Bruce Lee tried to teach as Dan is saying in this video. but of course no one will ever credit jkd.

Honestly his JKD philosophy is the opposite of MMA. JKD philosophy means to not bound yourself to one or any number of techniques. It's his understating of other styles that allowed him to attack in their exposed spots when used. He didn't use a mix of martial arts to deal attacks, he used the understanding of them to avoid them...then use HIS own form to attack.

He's probably just explained JDK. Technique is definitely unimportant. Confidence means you will adapt a strike stance not a defensive stance. Hit hard, hit fast, hit first.

I think i would take it from someone that knew him as well as Dan and other people close to him that knew him best if he wasnt good i dont think they would have spent so much time with him rather than listen to a big bunch of people today that has never paid dues or put in work to accomplish anything other than talking trash over a keyboard

A part that might mean I'm psychotic is how I've noticed that if a person is looking to their side in photos you can see the white in their eye but only one side of it. Now imagine people see out of the white part and not the black pupil. They swap places when you see it right and suddenly they aren't looking to the side but the white is looking right at you like a white pupil in a black eye. All of this has made me think of the yin and the yang. looking right at you. Then the bamboo shakes slightly and you can see the white and the black swapping back in forth like quivering. Twice in the scene I think I believe Bruce about him telling Dan he saw the fight from another place because Bruce was so used to movies that he knew exactly how everything looked on the camera as he did the scene. In the Game of Death scene with Inosanto he strikes a pose with his palm out fingers stretched and then moves his arm to his left out from in front of his face underlining his face with his thumb
There is so many things he knew the list goes on look it up Boxing, jkd, wing chun, kickboxing, fencing, tai chi (for breathing and stretching) jui jistu, jun fan, Muay Thai , and other Chinese martial arts on top of that To say someone doesn’t know all the martial arts just seems like a given. I don’t think ANYONE knows every single martial art in the world
Seeing the openings. This is why New Zealand Boxer Joseph Parker is dominating as a heavyweight though he is much smaller than opponents . He has a third sense where he sees openings in a split second which will be attributed to his youth but effective non the less.
Also Conor McGregor in the UFC. Conor doesn't have the speed of Bruce obviously but his way of striking, movement his power and his timing feels alot like Bruce Lee. Which is understandable considering Conor is a massive Bruce Lee fan.
The Bruce Lee haters say and this is most likely a lie that Dan Inosanto says Bruce is really not a fighter. There are other Bruce Lee students say otherwise, a martial artist actually to be feared. I understand, Dan cannot speak on behalf of other Bruce close associates. He only speak based on his experience with Bruce. But the testimony of Abdul Jabbar and Jesse Glover, Bruce was gifted martial artist to be feared, bigger fighters couldn’t take him down he was like a “Ghost”, according to Jesse Glover.
@@bobbyz23 MMA is the term for the combat sport... either way Bruce was not the father of MMA or mixed martial arts. He was the father of JKD which could be considered a philosophy of mixed martial arts.

Anthony Briwn what do you think mma is today? not one style of fighting but a mixed style of fighting used in a fight. that was the theory of Bruce Lee. exactly what was explained in this video.
Peng Kha JKD still hadn't produced any great fighters it's suited Bruce mostly because of his agility & speed ..and I don't think JKD would have been as popular if he lived
