"Steve Martin" is the best Stugotz listening fail. It's the combination of how confidently he says it and how short of a time had elapsed since it was just said.
Back when the show was good before Mike was allowed to become insufferable, Chris Cote was elevated despite his mediocrity, Roy was forced down our throats as this great social comentater, and Billy, the one with real talent, was relegated to a bit part. The show became totally insufferable after the tafoya interview
Subscription added. If you dislike this show, it's a you problem. Lebatard must have his contract written in his own blood to do the show the way they do it in this new time slot. ESPN has to have been so pissed @ him so many times for the way he does live reads alone. I fucking love it.
this happened to me one time at work - I was making a bunch of copies and my co-worker started talking to me. However, with the copier noise I couldn't hear a word he was saying, so I just nodded and pretended to be listening. The problem was he kept talking, for at least five minutes (I was making A LOT of copies), which made me feel kinda guilty but it was too late for me to say I couldn't hear him, so I just kept nodding. Anyway, when finally my copies were all done, I said something to him, which I guess was exactly what he was talking to me about the whole time, and which tipped him off that I hadn't been listening. He was really pissed off and said "why should I bother talking to you if you're not going to listen?!? My Stugotz moment....
