This is my grandas favourite song of all time everytime I listen to it all I can think of is him singing it such an awesome man and even at 29 he's my hero and always will be 😎 thank you for this Dan from the mccabes in belfast 😎 🇮🇪 Éire go Brách! 🇮🇪
Great to See the impact luke kelly left on young singers of today. Unbelievable voice Dan I would definitely buy your album. Can't wait to hear more from you. 🇮🇪
It’s great to hear the words of Patrick kavannagh still portrayed in a unique yet similar Irish way. The lyrics alone bring a tear to the eye but Dan still in his own unique style yet similar to Luke and others still can covey the heart break and love of a great Irish song. Well done Dan and big up Ireland.
On Raglan Road of an Autumn day I saw her first and knew, That her dark hair would weave a snare That I might someday rue. I saw the danger and I passed Along the enchanted way. And I said, "Let grief be a fallen leaf At the dawning of the day." On Grafton Street in November, we Tripped lightly along the ledge Of a deep ravine where can be seen The worth of passion play. The Queen of Hearts still making tarts And I not making hay; Oh, I loved too much and by such and such Is happiness thrown away. I gave her gifts of the mind, I gave her the secret signs, That's known to the artists who have known The true gods of sound and stone. And her words and tint without stint I gave her poems to say With her own name there and her own dark hair Like clouds over fields of May. On a quiet street where old ghosts meet I see her walking now, And away from me so hurriedly My reason must allow. That I had loved, not as I should A creature made of clay, When the angel woos the clay, he'll lose His wings at the dawn of day.
Dan is top class singer luke kelly would be proud of this man, pure Irish voice , I grew up listing 2 luke kelly , the dubliners, the clancys brothers class bands
Got yaself a new fan. Gonna be sharing this to all and sunder. Far away from home but your voice brings me back. Hope you get the recognition ya deserve! All the best
Dan your some chanter kid I know what I am talking about the great man who had a hit with grace thought me that song four times I was just a bit pissed that night 🤣
He has an unusual voice, very good. But the exact opposite of the great Luke who made the song his own. Luke’s perfect diction compared to these unfinished words in every verse, makes it difficult to settle into.
