The reason why Brock has to throw those passes so early is because of his lack of arm strength. His passes don’t have much zip to them. It sort of floats to a spot. Guys with strong arms can afford to wait those extra seconds and still be able to make that same throw to a spot where their receiver will be. In these past few games, defenses have focused on stopping CMC and making Purdy beat them with his arm. We’ll see if he rises or folds as more teams will follow that defensive game plan. I get what Marcus is trying to say and I feel the exact same way. Orlovsky talked about Garoppolo making boneheaded throws. Wouldn’t you call those two picks boneheaded throws by Purdy? Marcus is saying let’s call it what it is. If a QB plays 3 good quarters and has a terrible 4th, you can’t call that a “good game”. Purdy is getting excuses that not many get, especially Garoppolo. One season, Garoppolo was hurt. Deebo, Kittle and Williams all missed time. The blame went on Jimmy so much so they ended up trading a bunch of first round picks to move up to grab Lance.

He is only in his second year. He is still learning. No loss is on one person. Moody missed kicks in both losses. Defense sucked, fumbles, penalties, bad calls by coaches and refs.

Purdy is not responsible for either loss, that is totally unfair to him. That said, it is totally fair to say that the last 2 weeks he wasn't good enough to overcome a bad performance by his team. I definitely believe in him, he has shown a ton through one year of playing time, but you gotta be truthful about it too.

I hear some people saying the 49ers are frauds (mostly from Dallas fans). As an Eagles fan, I strongly disagree with this. They still are one of the best teams in the NFC this season (if not the entire NFL). The No 1 seed is still well within reach for them. They got things to clean up no doubt, but that can be said for literally any other team. They're still going to easily win their division at the very least.

I agree with dan. The second interception we can say he made a mistake because that throw was not there. Also with 30 seconds on the clock you ain't getting a lot. But the first interception was just bad timing. Jennings faked the out route which made his route longer, and the purdy threw it 2 seconds earlier. If jennings goes full speed without slowing down on that same route purdy connects and that's an easy extra 3-7 yards after catch for jennings.

Purdy had McCaffery, aiyuk, kittle, and a good defense. It's crazy that just cuz deebo was out we will forgive this guy playing bad....

Purdy is the click bait but what everyone should see by now is the 49ers are not stacked, a term way too loosely thrown around. No one has Deebo/Aiyuk top 10 in their position. You might have CMC top 5 despite the paltry YPC. Kittle hasn't been the "2nd best next to Kelce" for two years. The O-line is suspect (always been). The secondary is suspect (always been). When they roll, Purdy's performance masks the flaws but even he has a learning curve, which is what we're seeing now. Sorry to derail the narrative but this is a blue collar team looking to eek out a SB despite an owner that hired a coach before the GM who he plucked from the announcer's booth.

Pressure him and it throws his anticipation and timing off. 6. Why is it when the QB throws and the Wr makes a play it’s “the QB made a great throw” but when the QB makes a bad throw it’s “wasn’t the QB’s fault, it was the Oline not protecting or the WR was not in the correct, or the QB hasn’t had much time with that WR.

As a 49er I expected the wheels to kinda fall off at some point before game 7 & 8 because of how great things were going for Brock & the team! Both losses have made Brock look human or just average truthfully and his adjusting on the fly needs some fine tuning! Looks a little skeptical or hesitant with throws which has him being off target,but these are the situations & nuances of the game & the sort of things Brock will need to become an elite ( football gods help) QB! We looked terrible as a team this game period! Not the type of game 49ers play at all! Kyle has never been that guy to me with his track record throughout the league & he always somehow finds a way to cause disaster or be a part of it! As a Steeler fan, I was initially jealous of the niners and Purdy especially after week 1 but 1 thing that I’ve come to know the last 2 weeks about Kenny and finding out about purdy; Kenny may not be elite yet or maybe ever, but he’s clutch. I won’t say that purdy isn’t clutch, but he’s gotten used to playing while up and the last two weeks he struggled when even or trailing. All that said….I still have no idea how to evaluate either. Then there’s Malik Willis as the X factor of the class. Nothing makes sense and everything is chaos this season.

Man there is a lot of talk about Purdy being terrible now. Few weeks ago he's MVP and now he's the worst QB in the league. I know it's mostly a media narrative, but people just buy into it. Is it possible he's just a good QB? Top 15 guy? Who are the 9ers going to get that's better than him? He's played well. He hasn't made a ton of mistakes. The team relies on their defense and it always has. You give up 500 yards to the vikings offense then you should lose the game. This game was way more about the defense than the offense. If purdy only throws one pick last night then people are saying he played great. They couldn't run the ball at all either. I see these reactions to every QB though not just purdy. People hating on Jalen for a bad game against the Jets. Tua sucks since he lost to the eagles. Don't dump a QB who's been good for 10 games and "bad" for 2. Gotta let the season play out a bit more.
