Wrong. Their last 2 seasons in college is what made women’s basketball fun to watch. LSU beating Iowa 2 seasons ago when Angel Reese mocked Caitlin. And then this past season Iowa knocking the defending champs LSU out of the tournament in the rematch and Caitlins redemption. When these 2 play its must watch TV.
There's no back story! Caitlin was doing the "you can't see me" to her teammates and angel was at Maryland! Once they got into the tournament gameplay... LSU started hating on Caitlin because they felt like their entire team was better than her! They ignored the fact that Iowa was Caitlin Clark! Her accolades were better than ALL players in college!

She is the fastest to 200 points, 75 rebounds and assist in league history. she has already tied Turasi for most 20-5-5 games this season as a rookie. Three more and she sets the record. I've loved DP going all the way back to the Big Show days with Olbermann. But I think DP is off-base telling new WNBA fans that they don't have a right to comment on this foul (and others) because we just started watching. Anybody who has ever watched basketball knows that what Reese did is a flagrant foul in ANY league at ANY level. I don't understand why you need to be a WNBA expert to see the obvious. Unless I missed something, the WNBA basic rules and structure are the same as the NBA. If Jokic smacked Curry in the head the way Reese did, that would also be a flagrant. DP is a little guilty of the gatekeeping that WNBA players, coaches are also doing. That's not how you grow a game.

Aliyah Edwards who is a 6’2 F was killing Reese and the coach had to get somebody else guarding Edwards. Reese was getting worked by Derica Hamby who is also 6’2. Smith of the Fever had her best game of the season w Reese guarding her. Reese is not very athletic..she makes up for it by attacking the backboard and being a good FT shooter.

By modern NBA standards, there's no question it's a flagrant: wind-up plus forceful contact to the head. That's a flagrant every time in the NBA, and probably should be in the WNBA.
They should call her "The Bayou Lay-up". And I'll bet that she gets half of her offensive rebounds from the lay-ups she misses. It's hard not to get the rebound when you are standing underneath the backboard. She's 6'3", she doesn't even have to jump.

Most hard fouls are deliberate. However there are hard fouls and there is targeting. CC has had more flagrant 1 fouls against her than anybody in the league. They are zero on Brink. Reese actually has had a flagrant 2 against her. None on Cardoso, or the rest of the rookies. So this is more than just physical play.

There were four rookie players played with team USA in the olympics. Rebecca Lobo in 1996, Diana Taurasi in 2004, Candace Parker in 2008 and Breanna Stewart in 2016.
You can say she isn't one of the best 12 but how many players could be the only player on their team and look good? If there was a redraft in the WNBA of all players are you saying she wouldn't be one of the first 12 taken? At the same time are you saying Taurasi is one of the best 12 or Griner? She is a Excellent passer , She has double coverage on her most of the time which actually frees up at least one of her teammates , She is fast and quick just as good at making those two pointers as well as the three pointers. She's going to be the best rookie in the history of WNBA. Fact she's on a team that has been last two years in a row and has better stats than people on the Olympic team. Michael Jordan, coming out of college, played on the ‘84 Olympic team and that was before he had played a single game in the NBA. Chris Laettner, coming out of college, played on the ‘92 Olympic Team before he played in any NBA games.
Reese fabricated this entire rivalry back at LSU when she took Clark's "can't see me" hand gesture and made it all about her. Most people don't know that the hand gesture was against another team, and had nothing to do with Reese or LSU. She used that made up controversy to promote herself, and has never let go of her jealousy and hatred of Clark to this day. Nobody would care about Reese if it wasn't for Clark. Reese is an overrated player with mediocre stats, and her best stats are from rebounds, which she piles up based off of her own missed shots. She is at best a less talented Draymond Green, and her only opportunity to be relevant is to tie herself to Clark at every opportunity.
Chicago has two flagrant fouls all season, they're both against Clark. Iowan here, Caitlin Clark fan. Honestly, I liked Angel Reese & enjoyed watching her play, until she took on the villain role. Angel is a good basketball player, in my opinion she’s ruined her reputation since being in the WNBA. It’s too bad, she’s her own worst enemy. Character is everything in professional sports.
7:50 is not an informed take. If any bball player with decent defense was to be honest with 7:50 commemter, they would tell him that at the angle Reese contested the shot the only way to get that block is to time your jump by taking off before the offensive does. THE MOMENT the offensive player at that angle ahead of you takes off prior to you, aint no way in heck you can get up and block that shot instead of whacking the head of the offensive player. This leads me to think Reese may have done that on purpose.
I will tell you why the Caitlin Clark effect is real and why the WNBA needs to capitalize on it. I am a 50 year old white guy who loves sports. I have never watched an WNBA game in my life. I have watched at least 10 in the last few months. Clark was the catalyst for me tuning in but it opened me up to a whole different sport. Watching A'ja Wilson doing what she does with the basketball is magical. Watching Briana Stewart drive into the paint is as thrilling as watching Clark drill her logo 3's. Watching Kelsey Plum, who I call the 'Little General', lead her team is extremely entertaining. I could name countless other players who I have come to enjoy watching play in the last couple of months but at this point it is double digits. Clark brought the eyes to the WNBA but these women are the ones who are going to KEEP the eyes on the WNBA!

It's not a rivalry at all. Angel "I'd rather eat a reese cup than watch her" Reese is ever mentioned is because of her selfish, low class, bratty attitude which she has displayed time and time again in her actions on the court and in interviews. Angel Reese is trying to flatter herself by thinking she's turning this into a Bird v Magic rivalry...what Angel Reese doesn't recognize is it's actually gonna evolve into something more like a Larry Bird v Tree Rollins kinda thing....which isn't even a thing.
Rivalries only occur between players of equal skill, ability and most importantly, both players have to agree to be bothered by the other. Clark never says anything about any player and always rises above the fray.

She's had ZERO 3-ponters in the WNBA, I can't see where Reese is any kind of a player and I think she's lucky to be on any team. Also, Reese was a mile away from that ball when she hit CC in the head, and there is a thing in sports called follow through.
