Dan literally said in his coming out video that they're soulmates, they've lived together for the last 12 years, and they've bought a house together. They don't talk about their relationship because people ask weird questions about it and they want to keep the details private. Which is fine. To me, it feels like people who still doubt they're together are either homophobic or didn't really watch their videos (back when they regularly recorded together). If a man and a woman lived alone together, with no sign of dating anyone else, flirted with each other, recorded videos together, and made their own ship name, you wouldn't doubt that they're together.

Here’s the thing. It’s okay to recognize they are in a relationship without being weird or discussing it much. Two people do not have a romantic relationship, live together for 12+ years, make a “forever” home together, and aren’t in relationship. It’s not “shipping” or “finding proof”, but it’s weird for people to try to pretend they aren’t or that it’s a “mystery”. They are, and that’s all that needs to be said about it. Also “dating” seems like a very immature way of phrasing it anyway. They’ve been together for over 12 years, you can just say “in a relationship” or “partners” rather than “dating”.

I think of it as “friendship goals” honestly. It’s rare to find a friendship like theirs. You can’t deny that they’re best friends. I see it as more platonic tbh

@@ellaelliott4415 They have been together for 12+ years, they are said they are more than friends and Dan has said “yes” to the question “so just a normal gay couple?” in an interview before. It’s okay to also say that and stop pretending they are “platonic”. No need to discuss their relationship, but it’s weirder to pretend they are just friends.
