In memory of Dan Seals, who passed away in March 2009, here is a video of him with the Voices of Bahá and the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra, live in Slovakia, March 2000. Dan is performing one of his own songs, "We Are One."
I was at the Tennessee Baha'i School that Dan Seals attended in the last year of his life. Weak with cancer, he still could not resist when we called him to the stage to sing "We Are One" one last time. Everyone jumped up AS ONE to help him sing the chorus and, suffice it to say, there was not a dry eye in the room!! I am crying now just remembering the love in that room as we said goodbye to dear Dan.
Oh my goodness I grew up seeing this man in concert throughout my childhood I know have an 18 year old and a 15 year old oh how I cried when I found out that he had passed. And then I came across the song blessed written by Casey his daughter. C to start with right now I'm 42 clearly my childhood was very 90s oriented unfortunately I wasn't very popular for my choice in music but I got to know Mr seals personally. I've always had comfort in putting in either in a quiet room or any album and I will get into the bathtub this is when I was pregnant with my daughter. I will never forget what his music represented to me❤ as well as I will never forget how calm and soothing his voice still is to me. I don't know if anybody's going to see this... What I just wrote in this comment was as true as the song in this current video that he wrote. RIP Mr seals... Your in my soul and part of my story ❤️
This is one of the most moving musical pieces I've ever come across, and it shows our faith well. Both the Baha'i Faith and the world in general lost a great voice when Dan Seals passed away, but at least he left us some wonderful music...and God should be thanked for that.
One of the best songs of all time and love this live version as well as the music video which I am happy that he did when at Warner Brothers. Powerful song and message!! R.I.P. Dan Seals
What a meaningful song. I am also a Baha'i. I pray for the day the world will realize we are all ONE. r.i.p. Dan. You are missed, but your music lives on through videos like this.
Dan, You were a very wonderful songwriter, and I will miss your incredibly thoughful lyrics, and outstanding voice. Rest In Peace, Dan. This world misses you...
This performance is a shining light within a world bruised by war, poverty, and injustice. I'm glad Dan was with us, and hope the vision he shares here is realized for us all.
Yes! Only Baha'u'llah taught us and also bring to reality that mankind is indeed one family. It makes my heart happy, and draws tears from my eyes! OGod! Thank you for making me a Baha'i believer. Thank you Dan Seals (peace be with you) for this wonderful pop country song, to Mr Price for the orchestral arrangement, to the Slovak Radio Orchestra and the Baha'i Choir up there. I feel like flying. God bless you all!
His background might have been in country music, but his strength was and is in Baha'i-inspired music. I have never been able to get through singing this without breaking down.
What a treasure he was. May all the world hasten to comprehend and follow this simple and profound message offered by this Momentous Revelation. Seek and Ye Shall Find.
I hear this so often and cry each time. I love the whole whole scene! God bless Dan Seals. God bless the singers, the players the director, the divine Director!
