Funny thing is, after I played this game obsessively all throughout my young adult life, when I went to work in retail\hospitality, my first boss' name was Dan Smith. I'd have a secret chuckle at the mental image of: him striding up, pulling out an unrealistic revolver, blowing a 'problem customer's' face off, and trotting away indifferently with the thing over his shoulder; every once in a while.
Symbolism: -Death of the Author (literally) -Your creation outliving you -Propoganda infestation -Properties being bought out by big companies *-Superhero* properties being bought out by *big companies* -Something something Super Sentai something something Americanizing omething something Power Rangers
It's neat that Dan told the artist to get down when Handsome Black started doing his Handsome Winks. Even though the man had just threatened his life, Dan saw him as so far beneath a legitimate combatant that he instinctively tried to protect him when push came to shove.
He was Benjamin Keene, Travis Pearlharbor(I think that’s the artists name) and one of the guys playing Mahjong that lead up to the showdown That’s just the ones I know off the top of my head, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he voiced more in this game
I figured they left because Dan did. Dan clearly doesn't have much patience for these guys, so once the duel was set up, he just turned and walked out. He's muttering the line about comic book heroes as he's leaving. That's my take, anyway.
That's a pretty good theory ngl, I think Harman changed his personality by making him less talkative. We see in emir parkreiners story that dan was all talk but he wasn't fast enough to shoot emir, Which led him to die.
@@yo4584 actually if you look closely emir and dan had the same skill with a gun because they drew and fired on eachother at the same time if you look at Dan's gun closely you can see a a shot hinting that emir is somewhat in the same realm as harman and kun lan.
Dan Smith is my favorite character. I just finished this game today cuz I bought it the other day. Such an awesome game... and I just love how Dan is always so calm when it comes to doing his job haha I seriously hope they come out with a sequel man!!! best 10 bucks I've ever spent!!!
It does They just confused us because theres a lot of stuff happening Harman and Kun Lan represents the war, everytime some big shit happens, they are there Bet they exist since World War I
A good idea, but it seems obvious from Pearlharbor's death that he didn't dictate their actions, only prophesized them. I have no idea why tbh asides to make him silly, in addition to his "FINE!" line.
would have been funnier if he just started shooting while they were talking: "You'll pay for blacks de-*BLAM BLAM BLAM* OH SHIT *BLAM* STOP AND LET ME TAL-*BLAM*
@SawdustProductions actually,he had MANY parts in the game.He was Benjamin Keane,Trevor Pearlharbor,Kenjiro Matsuoka AND the Handsome Men fight Announcer.
Mmm, I know that now. This was back when I couldn't immediately pick a Steve Blum voice out of a crowd :P (and it still sounds like there's some Jack Black mixed in there XP)
@NBluth I know it was the lead ranger. I think he said that because he was forced to leave before he wanted to. He was forced to leave because the writer wrote it that way.
I didn't like this section of the game. The game had a very dark, interesting tone but this was just juvenile. The story went from selling children for their organs to Power Rangers. I also didn't care for the anime in this section. It looks a little crude, like an anime from the 80's. I did loved the style of animation from the Cloudman chapter however. Simple but very artistic and cool looking.
Why at 2:01 does the red handsome man say "wait im not finished with you yet" was there a mess up in the script wouldn't it make more sense for dan to say that line?
