Big fan of Dan! But, I do not think he´s account of Giorgi´s descriptive method here is full enough to be fair for it is exactly developed to not become a transcendental filosofical analysis of the kind Dan mentiones that the epoché is meant for. Therefore Giorgi´s conceptions of epoché and reduction are adapted to work in psychological science.

Dan, thank you and please keep making & sharing video. The entire Phenomemenological / Cogsci / philosophy of Mind community would benefit greatly from a more detailed account of situated existence & the phenomenal world when/if you release your own systematic work similar to-a critique and original expansion-upon Gallagher’s Pattern/Interaction Theory and Sven Arvidson’s Gurwitschian “Sphere of Attention”. I believe your best work is still ahead, and I will be among the first to buy & read your next book. I would be thrilled to read your unique view on the structures CSness and their inter- and intra-modifications/relations, in greater detail than what is on offer today (Arvidson’s work was a joy to read, especially his accounts of eg simple and radical shifts both within and between the theme-thematic field-margin; fascinating but ultimately still far too simple; Gallagher is doing a fine job at developing original ideas and I commend him for his ability to blend primary/secondary intersubjectivity insights with a situational approach using phenomenology and experimental-empirical data the way he does, but ultimately it’s not as detailed or cohesive as it might be…though I’m only 2/3rds through “Action and Interaction”…), with your added appreciation of transcendental phenomenology, I get the sense your approach at developing something “systematic”, as Arvidson and Gallagher’s works have done, but in even greater depth and originality (as a phenomenolgist in your own right) would be something truly special. Just my opinion. I very much enjoy your writings and watching your descriptions, critiques, and insights available on RU-vid. Ps if you never again bother mentioning charlatans like Derrida & Levinas etc in your future works, I’m quite certain no one will be disappointed. I asked every living person worth a damn and they all agreed.
