Conor has yet to defend his title even once, and he's coming back to a loaded division. Glad to hear Ferguson or Khabib will likely get the next title shot since they've combined to win 18 straight fights. Conor has won 2 straight with a loss and split decision to #6 contender in Diaz. I think people are underestimating Floyd's chances in an MMA fight. He would obviously need some time to get adjusted to people trying to kick him and to learn how to defend against takedowns and learn some basic ground game. But as long as he's on his feet he is dangerous to the man in front of him, if his hands are strong enough to allow him to punch with all of his power. And he's fast, so he might have better chances crossing over than a heavyweight boxer.

I basically agree, but then Edson is no Floyd Mayweather boxing-wise, with all due respect to Edson. I didn't say Floyd would dominate the UFC, obviously he would be a very one-sided fighter, and that would be a disadvantage. But he's an incredible boxer and with the 4 oz gloves it might just take one good punch to decisively hurt his opponent. If there's an opening, and his opponents would probably be very open for his standards as an elite boxer, he has the eyes and the speed to exploit it.

Don't get me wrong Mcgregor could beat Mayweather in the octagon but his ego isn't going to let him win, he will be to concerned with wanting to beat him in the 1st or 2nd whilst giving away his game plan like he did in the boxing match which made it so much easier for Mayweather than it should have been.

Mayweather is 40 years old, he only ever trained for boxing. He's too old to try and train for a UFC fight at his age. It could be done but the chances of that happening are slim to none. Floyd will retire as the most successful boxer in history. That's it.

Anyone that follows UFC knows Dana is notorious for lying about things. Only reason Dana is adamant on saying there are talks, is that the UFC is due for a new TV contract. None of the networks right now are even close to the amount of money that the UFC is looking for. He needs to make it seem like there's a chance for another 300 million fight in the near future. Without Conor, Ronda, or Lesnar the UFC doesn't have anyone that can pull in non MMA fans. WME got played by the Fertitta brothers by buying the UFC for 4 billion. They mistook Conor's unusual ability to draw in an audience as UFC's natural growth as an overall sport. Once Conor was inactive, they realized PPV's only sell around 150k to 400k versus Conor's over 1 million. WME right now is all about trying to get their money back, hence all the recent "money" fights.

I think Floyd may have a good shot, as long as he takes his time and doesn't jump in head first against one of the top dogs! & T Wood definitely made a good point on his TMZ interview regarding Floyd's MMA venture, if Floyd can be trained on good takedown defense, escaping submissions, and throwing & defending kicks. That would make him a complete fighter and force the person across the cage from him to stand up and throw hands with him, which would lead to him winning with EASE! If Floyd is really considering giving MMA a shot, he definitely gets some respect from me for that because it really takes some huge cojones to jump into another art form like that. #SaluteToAllWARRIORS!

What horseshit, Floyd carried McGregor to leave the rematch open. If Floyd made Connor look stupid there would’ve been no reason for a rematch plus maybe Floyd like the Octagon rematch idea and Connor might carry Floyd for 3 rounds and not hurt him to bad in the Octagon because Floyd carried him.

Floyd can't run around every round like he does in boxing. And plus he can't pay off UFC fighters like he does boxers to sellout and take a dive. Fight wouldn't happen in a million years.

Floyd didn't even fight his usual way and thats the only reason Connor landed punches. Floyd's a counter puncher not aggressive he fought the way he did because he wasn't in the least bit concerned about Mcgreggor. It was an EASY win For Mayweather.
