I helped Dana and his son when I was working at Champs Sports in Summerlin Mall. Back when the Mayweather and McGregor fight was happening. Dude knows how to spend but ultimately he’s chill. Talked to him for a bit while helping him and it was a just a cool experience.

90% of the UFC fighters are UNKNOWN and nobody would pay to see them to fight. The job of the UFC is to promote these unknown fighters and make them into household names. When these fighters get wins and popularity, then they start making big bucks. The $12k is just starting pay, not the end pay. Also, you are not considering the fight bonuses!

It’s not supposed to be like an unpaid internship you goof. Don’t forget, these fighters have to pay coaches and for the camp. And they usually can take 2-3 fights a year MAX, if that. They’re severely underpaid.
