DANCE CHOREOGRAPHER REACTS - 비투비 (BTOB) - '나의 바람 (Wind And Wish)' Choreography Practice Video 

other melody already explained Peniel's health condition, so I am just going to add that prior to his injures, Peniel was one of the people responsible for BTOB's dancing. He used to the his solo songs dance and rap heavy. During the promotion of this song, if i remember it correctly, Peniel was relying on pain killers just to be able to promote and perform this with the members.

Being around their age, I am just amazed that they can sing and dance at the same time at all. lol They often talk about how their dance practice really focus on memorizing and making it presentable, rather than "perfecting" it to the point of synchronization. They are more invested in singing live and sounding better on stage. As you mentioned, because of that there is an inside joke that after a while, nobody remembers which member is doing the exact original choreography...including BTOB themselves

btob is more of a vocal group that's y its normal to see them singing in dance practice and they have admitted that they weren't the best dancers but I have seen minhyuk (huta) dance harder choreography in his solo activities

I found BTOB the same time as ATEEZ. They were also in Kingdom Legendary War. Although 2 of them weren’t out of the military yet. But damn they were amazing as just 4 on the show. They are just so much fun. And their ending fairies are always hilarious

Thank you for reacting to this choreography practice..it's really good and I love watching them having fun while doing this. I also appreciate your analysis of their choreo and body positions and spacing and all that stuff. It's nice to hear these for a change coz usually, reactors analyze their vocal dynamics only and it's so rare to hear reactors talk about their dance. And for a heavily vocal group, they really do dance so well. Also, you are right..BTOB never cared about that perfect idol image..they have always been natural in everything they do & they would say and do whatever they feel like doing..with or without cameras. They also love staying comfortable with whatever they are wearing..no fancy stuff. Anyway, BTOB debuted in 2012 and initially had 7 members but the main rapper had to leave the group in 2020 so they are just 6 now. 5 members are already in their 30's now..only the maknae (the one in We Got Married) is in his 20's. About Peniel..I can't blame you if you see the stiffness in his movements. You see, in August of 2022, he had a gym accident & ruptured his Achilles tendon so he underwent surgery. He took a long rest, had therapies so he can move that foot again but it's been said that it won't be the same as before. And though he's been healing..his back pains were getting worse and had to take rest & miss most of the group's activities. Then last year, due to worsening back pain, he found out that he had herniated disc and underwent another surgery (microdiscectomy). Since then he was doing all the exercises and rehab and therapies that he needed..at the same time, doing his best to join the group activities and choreo practices that he's capable of doing. It's really been hard for him..enduring the stiffness and pain and the group members and fans appreciate the effort he's been doing for BTOB. I guess these things had affected his movements that's why he can't do the usual things he can do before.

At that time Peniel was still recovering from an ankle fracture, and was suffering from an hernia in the back. He is usually a little stiff but on that time he was more because the injuries.

These uncles 😂 are always fun to watch. BTOB was originally planned to debut as a band, thus when the company decided to debut them as an idol group they were forced to learn to dance 😂 They can be as realistic and they were known as beagle idols when they were young, crazy loud and tarnished that generalized idol images 😅.

Love BtoB so much, but will say that they focus more on the vocals so have to be able to sing live and the choreo can't be too difficult. BtoB are all over 30 except Seungjae (he was the one in We Got Married to Joy from RV) Peniel is in Dive Studio pod cast. There was 7 members until 2020. At least Peniel has had surgery so for a group that was possibly going to be an aerobatic group, I think it took a toll. As for dance practices where they sing, there is a Rocky and JinJin dance practice for Just Breath and MCND's dance practice for Crush (they may do it for all) dance practices.

He said that they have done this 300 times or so and have to finish it to send it to the director real soon, but they are so tired.

Thanks for the reaction. It was a very interesting watch. While they're way more known for their vocals now they did start as a proper boygroup and had solid choreos in the beginning. i definetely recommend some of their older dance practises like Thriller, WOW, Beep Beep etc. I know others already wrote peniels case but not fully. Peniel has been struggling with herniated discs for years, then in the summer of 2022 he tore his achilles tendon which worsened his back pain. The waw comeback was his first comeback after he recovered his achilles. He did perform in 2022 but whithout dancing. The comeback promotions made his pain worse and he had to ultimately get surgery.

I'm not a dancer, but I really enjoyed this analysis. I also think Peniel is a bit stiff, and I think maybe it is because he has a back problem. He had a back surgery last year. Because of his back injury, maybe Peniel being at the back more than other members is a consideration from the choreographer and the team so that he would have less weight to carry for the dance routine? That is my opinion anyway. Haha. One thing that I really like from this dance practice is the sound of their steps. I don't know why it is so enjoyable but I like it. 😁😁 What do you think?

Love this! I hope to see more of BTOB on your channel! This is SO different from the usual reaction videos of BTOB which focus more on the vocals. I agree on the occasional "un-cleanes" of their moves. They don''t really focus on the performance aspect so I don't blame them, they deffinetly have more free-spirited aproach to their dance moves, and individual choices of style (don't know the correct terms sorry) rather than neat synchronicity, but I actually like that. I think Changsub is really laid back sometimes, he doesn't do the full extensions, but his locking (?) of the movements are so on beat and his footwork? LOVE it! Sungjae has usually beautiful handmovements. Minhyuk is the most precise and has energy, Hyunsik has a natural old school groove, Peniel is a bit more hip-hop oriented, Eunkwang has improved the most I would say (especially back, neck, head placement and facial expressions, the smooth turn he did in this choreo is everything!). Ilhoon had a perfect mixture of laid back and energy I would say, depending of the song, his hand movements while rapping (same with Minhyuk) are very underrated! Made me appreciate their rapping even more, they're like old-school rappers! While Peniel has nice head-movements while rapping. I think it's fun that they focus so much on their live vocals performance that they allow their personality shine through in their movements. And yes, they have the goofiest personalities! If you're interested to see more of this choreo and their goofiness, they did another performance video where they were dressed as their childhood pictures, super cute and hilarious! I think my favorite of their choreos is in Thriller, Beep Beep, Movie, Missing You, It's Okay, Outsider, The Song and especially Show Your Love. Thank you for the reaction, look forward for more!

first of all, thank you so much for reacting to this. i’ve always wanted to know dance choreographer's POV on their dance moves. btw i'm also a Melody and of course want the best for them. others might not agree with me on this. sokay this is just my personal opinion. no offense but i think this song's choreo was a mess. i know btob didn't create those moves so i'm not attacking them. from what i've been watching, btob has their own styles(?) and those moves don't really suit them. you can tell how hard and tiring it is for them. i just really hope for next group comeback (if they wanna go with dance song), they can follow simple choreo and suitable moves. i prefer to see them just enjoying the stage and that's enough for me💙

I really liked your critique on their dance moves. Yes they are a vocal group but I wish their choreography was better. Especially their back up dancers. I have watched several of their concerts and some of their choreo is not that good. Again especially the back up dancer’s Not good at all. I hope under new agency they will get a BETTER choreographer and better back up dancers.
