bellabana People should adapt new songs to the rumba rhythm rather than adapt the dance to other songs. With editing it is very easy. Some of the Russian dancers are good at creating art but don’t really understand what makes the dance. It is not the steps. This freeforming makes it contemporary not Latin, but without the things that make contemporary good imo
Em Hu. I get the point you are making and if were talking on the competition floor, yeah, absolutely. But I don't think show dances should be imprisoned by rules other than to give a paying audience a moving experience and value for money. What ever that may be. I'm not a big R&Y rumba fan as I find their show performances more educational than inspirational. I don't know who is responsible and nor do I much care, but I cant express the horror I feel at what has been and is being done to this beautiful dance. I think R&Y have tried to do a more balletic theatrical style of rumba which I commend but if comparing it to some by others this doesn't isn't in the same class, largely because Riccardo doesn't do theatrical or artistic well at all. but good on him for giving it a crack.

Wow, you're behind the times as Max & Yulia stopped dancing together in 2007. Riccardo & Yulia are now currently 6 time Latin world champions, they're amazing!
