You never have to yell at a child! That is abusive and counterproductive. My mom was a dance instructor, owned her own dance company for too many years for me to add up. And it's true that with teaching, children learn in different ways. Some you can just tell them, others you have to show them, some will drive your patience up a wall! You have to remind students "You're here to learn and to have fun but let's leave any nonsense or drama at the door." Sometimes you have to get firm but if you have to yell at a child or demean them, you shouldn't be a teacher.
