I'm pretty sure this was choreographed by the same usual team of performance team + Choi Youngjun. If not this, then it was performance team + Look Crew. This whole comeback was based around the concept of movies and telling stories (hoping for a "happy ending" at the end of it all), hence all the ups and downs in both the song and choreography representing the ups and downs in a story. I feel like there were a lot of "seventeen" moments in this one imo, all the interactions and moments of members controlling the other members, the picture of them opening and closing a book, the whole bridge part etc... But I get what you mean when you say they're "dancing more" in this one. This is the kind of choreo they would make for their more performance focused tracks, but on a slower track.
The choreography credits for HAPPY ENDING was still to Choi Young Joon-ssaem. SVT so far only works with 2 teams for their choreo - Team SAME (led by Choi Young Joon) and LOOK. If not with them, the Performance Unit (led by Hoshi) will have the guide from Yoon Hyelim-ssaem (their amazing performance director). The difference you felt may just be more on the music? Esp we can't even clearly pinpoint what genre this is. SVT always align their choreo with the misic. Personally, I just feel like Happy Ending is much more groovy and on-beat than their usual. It's like seeing Don't Wanna Cry but in a modern and hiphop groove instead? And Good To Me but swift rather than sensual? I'm not a dancer though but for sure you'll be seeing more 'this is different!' stuff from them as you continue on :)
I just saw on twitter that SCoups talked about the Happy Ending choreo...that it was hard for him to follow because the overall feel was different and felt new to him. He and Wonwoo also talked about their other choreos... Call Call Call was like a long race and aerobic exercise, and Getting Closer was like weight training... >D< Still, they worked with the same people: Choi Young Joon for the choreo... (cmiiw but this was around the time Hoshi had creativity-block...he lowkey said during an interview he couldn't create choreo that time because he couldn't think creatively.) And Woozi, Bumzu composed the song... :) So same... it's just that (as the boys have always said) SEVENTEEN's genre is SEVENTEEN. (They want to try everything and anything creatively.) And that, accdg to SCoups, he's confident they come 2nd to none when it comes to their performances... :)

Thanks for your reaction!! 9:44 omg, I laughed so much 🤣🤣 About the MV, I’ve long ago stopped trying to understand what’s going on in some of their videos, Happy Ending being one of them. The song, I liked it at first very casually, but here I am a year later and now it’s one of my favorites songs 🤷🏻♀️, I love it. And about the choreo, I never got the feeling that it was unusual compared to their previous ones. That could be because, one, I’m not a dancer, and two, I didn’t follow a very orderly journey when I was becoming a carat, I basically watched choreos and MVs from whichever era, for example one day I was watching Aju Nice, the next Getting Closer, then Pretty U, then Hit, etc. so it was 📉📈📉📈 each time. But now that you mentioned it, I do notice that it has less idle moments, which they use so well in their other choreos. I still freaking love it though, it’s one of my favorites.

I hope you react to performance unit '247' in their An Ode album. :) There's no dance practice for that but they have a stage performance posted on their channel.. The song is so good but the choreo is even better!
Interesting... pretty sure this was choreographed by the same team. Maybe caz the song is a bit different but still very Seventeen. Usually the choreo team including the performance team creates the choreos with just the guide first then finalize it with the final song.

ALSO when you said "this feels like a different seventeen than we've heard before..." 1. you said that the last few videos too becaaause 2. that is the seventeen experience LOL, especially in the last couple years!!! so much fun how they love to experiment with genres and sounds so much. they've always dabbled in many different genres, but it was mostly kept to b-sides i feel like, until around You Made My Dawn! now... no one ever knows what to expect from a svt comeback anymore lmao
