Camryn is only 5 months or so older than Kendall.... but still, even for girls as old as Kalani and Nia, this seems inapproopriate. Have you seen dress codes in the US for girls of this age? This is expulsion- worthy. Two centuries ago showing your ankles was risque and perceived to be sexy. These girls are wearing very revealing costumes and dancing in a rather suggestive manner. I would not complain if these girls were ten years older than they are now, but at this point of life I think these dances are still inappropriate. The girls used to be so cute and sweet and modest- Maddie and Chloe didn't want an inappropriate dance called Electricity aired on the show. Look at this now. I know that they should have good body image, but sometimes these things go too far.
I really enjoyed this routine. This is the kind of dance they will need to know how to do in order to audition for Beyonce (after all, choreographed by Beyonce's former dance captain) and they did a really good job. Kendell slipped, no big deal, Chloe missed her feet on the chairs, but continued thru with the choreo well enough that it still wasn't a big deal. Camryn was living in this choreography. She hit it the best and had the best walk. Good job girls. I am going to miss this show.
Exactly! People focus too much on the bad parts rather than the good things and it’s really annoying. The girls did so well and they deserve a lot more recognition than what they get
What confuses me is that when the girls walked out on stage Abby said "I did not raise my girls like that" but, she had them dressed like that for the dance "Make you Mine" and "electricity" when they were younger so I don't get it.
For dances like FANtastic and Electricity, Abby didn't have much of a say of the girls doing those dances. All the producers' ideas. She didn't want to do them at all. If she refused, however, she could have been fined or something. Still could've said no, but whatevs. Abby has revealed this info herself as well
@@prajaktapendse7310 slut is such a derogatory term, OP was just saying Chloe was incredibly confident during the dance and I think she should've been bcs they were amazing. This is the kind of stuff you see on Broadway, it's supposed to be theatrical
Samantha Ann I think they WERE mature enough to handle a dance like that. The dance world for girls their age is actually a lot of dances similar to that (unless you’re a hardcore ballerina)
@2:08 did anyone else notice Camryn did the best kick? her leg just flew behind her head with ease, everyone else's was like a 90 degree angle max haha
For me it was Camryn, Nia and Chloe definitely. These three owned this dance whether it have been because they are OG’s or simply because they just killed this dance ❤️ Btw before y’all go and attack me, I know that Camryn isn’t an OG. When I said OG’s I was referring to the obvious, Nia and Chloe.
I know right! But the only reason try did this was because they split from Abby and we're going head to head with the little ones. They wanted to do something the little ones couldn't do. In this case they were right XD (not ment to be mean)
Hadassah Abraham they are 17 now not babies when they was kids it was inappropriate but they are teenagers now this is them those danced was control by Abby you can't expect them to be classy little girls for ever they grown up let them be teenagers and stop worry about their dance moves that you didn't help create
I think people are so used to them being little girls that they forget that they are older now and they are what, 16/17 year olds? I WISH I had this much confidence and I'm about the same age as them.
@@kaylinann914 I don't know where you are from, but where I come from you are allowed to drink at the age of 16 and even go to the disco with your parents permission when you are younger. You are even allowed to marry and do adult stuff (if you know what I mean) at the age of 14. So no, they are not too young
Conveniently parts where Kendall isn't quite keeping up with the others, it seems like. Any time she looks a little awkward or out of place or outright stumbles got cut or had a convenient camera change during the edit from the episode.
Yes! At least this home is a little bit better performed in the other one. Even though there still a little bit young for this type of dancing and wardrobe. At least they were able to pull it off.
First off, burlesque IS NOT STRIPPING! THATS NOT WHAT IT IS AND THESE GIRLS DANCING THIS STYLE DOES NOT MAKE THEM PROSTITUTES! I honestly don't think burlesque needs to be at a dance competition for kids and teens. HOWEVER their costumes were no different than some of the other dance constumes that the girls have worn, they've had to do "sexy adult" dances before under Abby, and I think they did wonderfuly for what they were thrown into. As young girls wanting to make a living in dance I think it's good to expand from the cookie cutter routines trash Abby is known for and learn dances they will need to make a career, yes that means burlesque.
@@ugotmejumpinlike fr why are people accepting this? “THEY’RE TEENS SO ITS OKAY!!” okay? but not 18+, they were minors doing this dance including lap dances.
@@vaginaspecialist who are they lab dancing on the fucking chair?😂 like get over you guys are so mad that they’re grinding on air. It’s really not all that serious. Yeah that style of dance does involve stripping but I don’t see any of them getting naked they’re wearing dance clothes.
Camryn is such a great dancer. Idk about technique and all, but she truly feels the music and moves with it and makes you want to dance when you watch her
Regular: “Making my way Down town, walking fast, fades pass now I’m home bound” Peggy: “Making my way downstage, strutting fast, twerking past all the judges” I may be late but you will get it
Im sick of all the fucking hate that this group dance is getting. I MEAN SERIOUSLY. 1. These girls are growing up. They aren’t going to be doing the same lyrical dances OVER AND OVER AGAIN. They are obviously going to do something more mature and different to what they usually do. Also, they are not the same kids that you saw 6 years ago, therefore they are obviously not going to want to do the same cheesy repetitive choreography that Abby gives them over and over again so get over it. 2. Remember when they were younger and Electricity? KIDS AROUND THE AGE OF 8. That is unacceptable. But i think for these girls to do a mature style at their age is perfectly fine because like i said before they are growing up. 3. ITS JUST A FUCKING DANCE. ITS A 2 MIN PERFORMANCE. PEOPLE GET OVER IT. ITS NOT LIKE THEY ARE GONNA ACT INAPPROPRIATELY AT THEIR AGE BECAUSE OF THIS DANCE. The girls are wise enough to realise that they shouldn’t act like this in person when they are their age, plus they are beautiful girls who appear to have no intentions of being like that 4. I agree with the mums when they were confronting Ashlee. This reminds me of something that you would see on Broadway, therefore if the girls continue to experiment with different styles, the opportunities that they can have in future are endless. I definitely think Ashlee needs a brain to realise these things, luckily I’ll never have to see her or Brynn again because of the show ending. Brynn is a beautiful dancer but i just hate her attitude on most occasions such as how she immaturely shouted we beat you to a group of girls who accepted her into the team with open arms and were her friends. Don’t even get me started on how much i hate Ashlee. Shes been a bitch since the second she joined the team, thinking that Brynn will be the best dancer on the team and will be the leader of every group dance. Also, she is rude to people (Mainly Kendall and Jojo) who have been on the team longer than her and have experienced more than she ever will. However, everyone hates Jill and Jess coz they are protecting their children. Coz thay makes seems. I dont really know what else to say bout the hate but i do think its fucking stupid. I even showed my mum this dance who doesnt even watch dance moms and she said that there was nothing wrong with it So people, shhhh. If you were TRUE fans of these girls stop bringing them down for their dances and mistakes and appreciate their hard work. ALSO IF YOU DID HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THIS DANCE DONT BLAME THE FUCKING GIRLS, BLAME THE CHOREOGRAPHER FOR DOING THIS. Thats my opinion, if you disagree with me than i couldnt give a shit. I love these girls and will support them no matter what they do and if you were a true fan, you would too. I cant be arsed to say anymore. Imma sleep 😴
The costume was horrible the choreography was horrible the whole dance was not it and I don’t think it was inappropriate the costume gave it those vibes too. The only good thing I can say about this is that they all did amazing in heels especially doing all those tricks
Most of the comments are about the stupid electricity dance that they did a long time ago. and in my opinion I just think they are doing a dance that's their age. People are acting like its very very inappropriate but its not really. Overall I think they all did and amazing job and people need to get over themselves
@@g_lyrics2114 I feel like it is because of the outfits and the suggestive moves. Personally, I don't think it's age appropriate for minors, but I guess that's my opinion.
Rose FIM this is actually a good dance and i don't get why people are blaming the girls for it being "inappropriate" they just do the dance they got taught
I know that it's not there fault but I'm a dancer and I would refuse to ever do a dance like that on stage the costumes along with the dance is just way too much for their age.
Liv C all of them are 15-17 it's not that bad except for Kendall and dancers wear this stuff for costumes all the time they are in the senior or teen category it's normal to see mature dances like this at competition
Even though they are between the ages of 14-16 (None of them are seventeen yet) they have a lot of younger fans that look up to them and they shouldn't be watching this kind of stuff and think about all of the little kids sitting in the audience watching them. It just isn't really dance competition material music video appropriate probably but it isn't right for any kids under 18 to be doing that at a dance competition.
Ok first of all all image jojo Maddie and Mackenzie her not brynn 2 you Are really annoying of coruse people Will image brynn her so shut UP and go away
Agreeeeeed! I thought her and Nia were the best and should've gotten more front spots... well for Nia I thought she didn't mess up at all while Camryn really embodied the "sexiness" of Chicago and also didn't mess up.
I honestly really like the choreo but they are TOO YOUNG. There's nothing wrong with 16 year olds dancing in heels or with chairs but the outfits are obviously supposed to represent lingerie, there's too much leg spreading, and their butts are hanging out. I'm 20 and wouldn't feel comfortable doing this in front of my parents or young children in the audience. My God, they might as well have put a pole in the middle of the stage. Sexualizing under-aged girls in dance competitions is a major problem. It's teaching them that their talent isn't enough to win or get people to like them- they have to be half naked and gyrate too. If they feel empowered by being sexual in their dancing or any other aspect of life when they're over 18 then there's nothing wrong with that, but this is so over the top for their age and it's honestly alarming that people find it to be normal.
Noako Love unfortunately the girls have already experienced old men sending them disgusting things since they were little, jojo had to take a man to court a few years ago after sending her sex toys and pictures in the mail
Tina Spence You’re EXACTLY right. It’s teaching them that sexualizing themselves is a must in order to be liked. In order to get ahead in the industry. It’s a sick part of the industry that I hate. Over sexualizing a woman and making them feel like they have to be sexual all the time. This Dance is a dance for women that are older. Not young girls or older teens. It’s completely inappropriate and anyone who disagrees honestly is wrong LOL. There is such thing as class, and this choreographer obviously doesn’t have any. I can’t believe the moms allowed this at all. They are probably being swallowed up by Hollywood
Kaylie.sage my eyes were drawn to her as well! Mostly because she is literally the only dancer on this team that has blonde hair. But still, I love Chloe.
Apparently you are blind and your opinion sucks. I have to say, I know these are young girls, but I am gay, and have been in dance my entire life, so I can say this, as its an observation from another dancer and dance instructor. Kendal has the sex appeal of a port-a-potta at a franks and beans festival. Lets go through the mistakes she alone makes in this dance. Because I am so sick of Jill talking about how amazing Kendal is, when in reality, she is not very good at all. After 7 years on TV you still can't perform? You want a music career? LOL! Bitch, Nia has got you body slammed in that department being # 1 on the ACTUAL POP Charts, beating out Bruno Mars, Shawn Mendes, Ed Sheeran, Selena Gomez and Christina Perry. Back to Kendal, her chair is way too far to the right at the beginning, late and last one on the chair hand stand at 1:32, flexed right foot at 1:34, She can't dance in heels. She falls at 1:16, 1:26 (she sticks out like a sore thumb)when she has Camryn on her right who can lean back twice as far. Kendals shoulders are always hunched forward, from 1:42 to 1:46 they have her just shake her hair because she probably cried because she couldn't do the moves at that moment, plus she doesn't perform. She sucks.
John Boston I totally agree, I'm also in dance. Her battement at 2:02, her shoulders and upper body in general were soo out of form and that's the only reason her battement got decently high. She lacks so much strength and flexibility compared to these other girls it makes me cringe. I honestly don't know how she's been in a group with them for so long, and hasn't been cut. Every single time they do any kind of extension/battement/anything that requires flexibility in the hips and legs hers is either cheated to get to where the other girls' are or it's subpar
John Boston another thing that completely irritated me was her rondejomb en-lair at 1:34 was horrendous. Legs bent, feet flexed, upper body distended forward, arms not knowing what they were doing.
Do you know where this type of dance Is going to get them? In a strip club on a pole in just a bra and a thong for money. Going home with a new guy every night, or getting shamed for doing such an awful type of dance at such a young age, I think don't wagging their butts, slapping their asses, slut droping, humpping the air, wearing close to nothing and spreading their legs on a chair is going to get them anywhere but a strip club. If this is "Up with the times" Then I can now say that Woman are being treated like sex objects. There's a difference between "Mature" and "Sluttly"
I agree. However I'be never seen girls their age dancing like that on Broadway. At 14/15 their still trying to pass them off as younger if they look the part. Think Annie and such.
I absolutely love this dance, honestly. I get that maybe that's how contemporary is supposed to be, but I find lyrical dances, and the rest of their usual dances so boring to watch. Sure it's elegant and smooth, but this was so entertaining! The beat went so well with their moves.
As a former competitive dancer and from a boy's prospective, I think it's amazing that they're willing to show this much maturity for their age. I think it's all blown a bit out of proportion, here in the UK if you saw this at a dance competition no one would really care, but in America its all a bit too much for their age apparently?
Yes and I really appreciate you respecting the girls for doing this dance. A lot of people like to give unnecessary hate to this dance and it’s really annoying. I mean they are allowed to do whatever they want with their lives and people have to just deal with it.
the fact they didn’t even show the full dance makes me mad!!! you showed the full dance, you should be the one doing the dances BECAUSEEE HOW DOES SOMEONE FROM THE AUDIENCE HAVE BETTER ANGLES AND TIMING AND SHOWING THE FULL DANCE then the people filming the dance on lifetime 🤦♀️
I can see how it's inappropriate for a dance competition, but this the style dancers need to be trained in in any professional job on cruises or shows !
Maddie Phelps true, I just don't think it's great for 14 year olds for national Tv...I mean they might look mature but they're technically all still kids 14-15, minus Kalani.
+Ysobel Poppy I COMPLETELY AGREE YOU.... I'M FROM CANADA 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦AND IN CANADA, this dance Would not be considered "inappropriate". I mean, these girls are 15-16-17 years old , minus Kendall who will turning 15 later this year but this is a grown mature dance that these girls needed to learned. These girls are not little girls ANYMORE!!!!!! They are not 8-9 or 10 years old ANYMORE!!!!! IN THE EARLY SEASONS OF DANCE MOM ABBY DID MANY DANCES WO WAS CONSIDERED "INAPPROPRIATE" REMEMBERED??!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? ANYWAY, I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU IN THIS SUBJECT!😎😃😃😃😃😃
Tyson Rossignol we do stuff like this in the us too I did Guys and Dolls in my high school were they do stuff actually like this and they did a number like this when they were younger. It's just kenise and Nia and JoJo wore dresses but the same style of burlesque and they were all for it even the moms
Olivia Hodges they weren’t OK with electricity at all. I just don’t think they know how to say no. I don’t think they like this either but they always go with whoever’s in charge because they wanted to beat Abby.
LOL. But Brynn is an amazing dancer almost as good as Kalani but she is 3 younger than her. I only wish all the girls were at least 15 before the did this dance but, this is what they would do as professional dancers.
They are 16ish competing in a dance competition for tv. Yes the costumes are skimpy but it's just for a dance which I thought everyone killed. Yes Kendall fumbled, big whoop. They all did great and I loved this number. 💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼
At the time this posted (April 2017) Kendall and Camryn were only 14 Chloe and Nia were 15 Kalani was the only that was 16 for this dance Even if they were all sixteen that still doesn't make this dance okay. The fact that these young girls are getting paid to do a dance like this (exploiting their sexuality), just to stir up controversy for a television show makes me nauseous. How is anyone okay with this?
TBH I kinda don’t see why people are hating I mean there already mature for it and it’s better than the electricity dance 🤷🏽♀️. I actually like the dance
in a lot of the dances they just wear dresses that could've been simply picked up at target, sure the style/fashion matters some but what they're really looking for is the dance
planetarywaste as you get older you grow out of the basic dress looking costumes and get into two pieces that aren't so fancy. judges care more about the dancing at this age
Jalin Salais Exactly! Thank you for saying it! For this age group, two pieces, (basically consisting of a dressed up /bedazzled sports bra and spandex) is the norm.
There is a lot of talk about this dance. I cant come to terms whether I love it or hate it and I'm permanently inbetween the two. See the thing is, the girls are about 16 years old now, this is part of the modern world so we cant ignore it but on the other hand its more like the girls are trying to be 'sexual' (obviously they basically have to be) but its not telling a story its just straight up sexual dancing which is completely fair to say. They obviously wanted to show that the girls can absolutely own a dance like this now their older referring back to electricity where they were repulsed by the dance at such a young age. I'm not saying this kind of dance is acceptable at that age but it has its pros and cons for sure. On the other hand they should of seen that this dance was never going to win, they should of thought more logically because (it got 2nd place) it had no technicality whatsoever! A few turns but mostly arousing faces and sexual moves. I absolutely love the girls and ive been watching the show since I was very young, I grew up with these girls to be completely honest with you but daren't I say it, and obviously no hate intended whatsoever because these girls are amazing but I think the only reason this managed to spike 2nd place was because they are the dance moms girls! Their stars! Their Famous! And I personally think without that background fame to support them.. This wouldn't of placed because from an audience members perspective this dance is a little messy, it isn't the best they've done and credit to them dancing in heels is bloody difficult! But they did stumble and fall a bit and well that's just my opinion. seriously no hate though its just what I think, they slayed most of it though! x
the ppl that think this is too inappropriate just hate seeing women being powerful and feeling confident cuz if this was a group of boys shirtless no one would say anything..
Kendal mother would make her do porn just to be relevant and stay on TV. After Dance Moms we will never see or hear from Kendal or Jill again, THANK GOD
They are like 14-16 I believe, and I think it's mainly on the perspective of those watching. Personally, (me being 17), I don't think that some of the moves should've been included (butt slapping, dropping with legs open) and maybe not have been appropriate for a dance competition with young kids who look up to these girls, but I get that this is part of their dance careers. It's not up to me to choose whether or not they should do it. I can have my opinions and everyone else too. I just think the popular opinion is that they are a little too young to be dancing in such a sultry way
Tchelet Naveh you know what your comment makes me think?? I wonder what's your cloths looks like and what kind of makeup you wear if you wear any and how many times you've gotten dress coded if you think that this is appropriate for teens to be doing on a reality tv show. Keep in mind that this is a competition and not a strip club.
