The choreographer for Dreamcatcher since Deja Vu is Hwang Sooyeon...she has been on Produce 101 (yes she can also rap and sing) and is now employed by Dreamcatcher Company. She has also been a backup Dancer for Red Velvet and Taemin on concerts. She has been on various dance Teams who are part of TAPAHA THE DANCE SPACE. One of the Team's is "Keens" - they have a RU-vid channel where they show covers and orignal choreographed songs (Chungha-Stay Tonight choreo by Rian, Dreamcatcher-Scream choreo by Sooyeon, Riye, Keeyoun, EXO-Obsession choreo by Mihawk x Keens) Btw did you know SuA of DC choreographed Red Sun - check it out if you haven't!

they did say that "Black or white" choreo was really hard on the endurance. They said you could hear them gasp for air slightly when they were singing live on certain parts. It's not something that I noticed before I heard them say it, which goes to show they're really good at making things look easy even when they're having a hard time

I really recommend their Endless Night dance practice. Is for a japanese release but it is really cool and powerful.

My Personal favourite dance Routine from them has to be "Black or White" tbh. The Song alone is one of my favourite kpop Tracks as Well. They're using moves from Michael Jackson and even Sound/lyric wise it's paying hommage to His Songs, especially black or White. You might like that one. The music bank dance video is awesome because it's a mashup of two live Performances with awesome editing. "Chase me" is one of their Most popular dances however. It might as Well be the Most draining since there's a Lot of quick movement quickly one after another

yes the music bank one is my favorite performance of black or white too but sadly it gets blocked most of the time for reactors cause music bank.... but the dingo version is fine too. feel free to check out the music bank version tho since its worth it!

@@Ossiftw tbf black or white is pretty hard to mess Up 😂 All the Versions are amazing. Some are Just 110% instead of 100% haha It's Just one of the Songs that pretty much everyone can enjoy in some way. Hope He at least Takes a Look, even If it's in private :) Thanks for saying that btw. Didn't think about that about Videos being Blocked 😅

They also have performance version MVs of Scream but live performances are great too, they're always very intense on stage. I think you'd like "Red sun" and "Black or white" too, these 2 are b-sides so the sound is a different genre, and the choreo is great too, Sua (the main dancer) made the choreo for Red sun, as for their other choreo, I know one of their choreographer is Hwang Sooyeon, she was in Produce 101, she works with Dreamcatcher and has a great relationship with them, in fact yesterday she and Sua did a vlive together for like 1 hour and a half of just messing around, dancing, singing and having fun :)

Thanks for reacting to dreamcatcher. For their older tracks I'm not sure if it's the same choreographer but since Deja Vu until now their main choreographer is Hwang Sooyeon, she was on produce 101 and you can tell that she has a close friendship with the members themselves (recently she made an appearance on a vlive with member Sua where they were just goofing around in the dance practice room), she is also the masked dancer in "Scream" and has appeared as a dancer in their choreos that have extra dancers. One of the members, SuA, also choreographs some of their dances. Red Sun was Choreographed by Sua and their covers of Taki-taki, havana and Copycat were also choreographed by her.

Just a small correction: Hwang Sooyeon wasn't the one with the mask, it was Kang Riye, another dancer who (I think) partly choreographed Scream. But yes, Sooyeon has been choreographing since Deja vu.

I really love the dance to "What" by them bc in the beginning, as each member sings, its like she is controlling all the others and they have a really cool and different way of redirecting the control and showing it for each line

for scream i highly recommend the suit dance video on 1theK, it's not a live performance with singing but the camerawork and set are really awesome and it's the video that turned me into an insomnia!

Choreographer for You and I and Good Night was Sunny, who has also choreographed for Gfriend. Deja Vu, Scream, Black or White, and Boca are choreographed by Hwang Sooyeon, who was a trainee w/ Dreamcatcher at the same company.

Their early releases, including the You & I and Good Night were by Sunny from Switch Team (youtube SWITCH DANCE TV). From Scream onward, it has been by Hwang Sooyeon (former labelmate trainee, back dancer and now DC's Performance Director) and Kim Kiyeon and Kang Riye with Tapaha Dance Studio.

I see people have already informed you the choreographer is Sooyeon for Scream, but she is also one of the dancers in it as well. The easiest way to point her out is when the part you said, "Hey, that cannon." to happens with SuA in the front, the woman directly after her in the cannon is Sooyeon. (If you do watch any of the recent versions of Scream where Handong is back Sooyeon is even easier to find as her hair is bright red and stands out among the back-up dancers.)

Hwang Sooyeon did the choreo for Scream, and I know there are comments already telling you her history but tbh I think you should check out her stage "Hot Issue" on PD101 just because it's hot as hell.

So Goodnight was actually released before You and I, I think maybe of you checked out their live stage performances it would have been a better way to measure their improvement. Yes they have a life performance of scream and they even have a performance version of scream

During the filming of boca and scream dreamcatcher was down a member who was trapped in her home town of wuhan due to travel restrictions they preformed live versions of the two tracks with her when she got back to Korea in November

So the masks in scream is their nod to handong (their Chinese member who was doing stuff in China and then covid hit so her return was delayed so the mask represents her being missing...You'll notice there are 7 members in the earlier videos and 6 in scream). Their choreo for boca (both the regular mv and the korean zombie version they released for halloween-they used the makeup team from the netflix show kingdom) is pretty incredible as well

Just to clarify this a bit... The masked dancer was a placeholder for Handong while she was in China. I believe it was their choreographer. The song Scream is about internet hate and cyber bullying. The prop masks represent internet anonymity which gives the haters and bullies their power.

Live version of Scream, yes pleaseeeee!! Hope u do check out their dance on 'Chase Me' (debut song) and the rest of their title tracks. Also they also have a dance choreography for their bsides such as 'Sleep-walking', 'Red Sun', 'Black or White', 'I Miss You (japanese bside)', and their fan song 'Full Moon' and 'Over The Sky'. Also their japanese title tracks such as Breaking Out and Endless Night.

If you do a reaction to Black or White live stage, because a lot of people seem to be recommending it (with good reason), please tell us what you think of the cost in endurance of that choreo. The girls said it was one of the hardest cardio-wise, and you can hear them just a little bit gasp for air in certain parts. I really didn't notice that it was any harder than their other choreos when it comes to endurance until they said so, which means I guess they're really good at making it seem easy.

hwang sooyeon who u prob know from the other comments by now, did a vlive together with Sua a few days ago! it is like an hour and a half long and it rly showcases the fun they have together and they danced and sung as well. If you have time to watch it fully I recommend doing so, otherwise there's a video from Insomnicsy that gives a pretty good summary (subbed too) (I think it'd be great as a reaction but if u just wanna watch it to get an idea of who she is that works) she also was one of the backup dancers during their second online concert!

You digging in this, i love it. I can see how you enjoy their music, their music is unique, it' s rock! Very different with others kpop group u know😀tottaly awesome to check more: i want u to check their head-banger, first mv_Chase me! And then do opposite: Fly high just so perfect, it' s soft. I actually love You and I its still a fave from them for me but I didnt find the practice lackluster compared to the stages. I do agree that, in general, theyve all gottwn more confident on stage but I think the difference between Good Night and Y&I is due to the mood of the song instead not exp since Good Night was a year before

You're definitely right about Scream being a performance. They started doing performance dancing choreography to their new comebacks like Scream and Boca (the recent release one) compare to what they've done since they debuted, where they all are the only dancers and just known for synchronizations. I like this decision from them because it really adds to their creativity and story telling about their music. P.S. Deja Vu is probably where all their performance dancing kinda started.

The crazy thing is that because of the way the domestic kpop industry is structured, DC's Scream got no nominations for Best Choreography or Best Stage Performance.... Most year-end awards won't even nominate you unless you have a win on one of the weekly TV music shows broadcasted in South Korea. These shows favor only mainstream sounds/concepts (SK hates rock) & are difficult for international fans to vote or participate in to a significant degree

You might like a stage mix of Scream! Stage mixes are really well edited mash ups of all of a song’s music show performances, and Scream’s is really cool because their outfits are amazing and the choreo is slick as hell when they’re all in stage mode!

If you wanna react to their live performances, react to an OT7 performance because Handong, the Chinese member who was stuck in China has returned to South Korea. If you realize, there's a masked dancer in the Scream dance practice, she's actually a temporary replacement for Handong since Handong was not able to promote Scream with the other members. React to Deja Vu and Endless Night dance practices next, those two are my favorites too.

I think someone may have given you the wrong info lol. You and I is actually the fourth release, and Good Night the second? The order goes: Chase Me --> Good Night --> Fly High --> You and I --> What --> Piri --> Deja Vu --> Scream --> Boca If you're interested, I would definitely recommend Chase Me, Fly High, Full Moon, Piri, and Black or White (one of their B-sides). Chase Me especially is one of their more exhausting choreographies, which is wild bc it was their very first.

Lol Goodnight was their earliest release out of the 3. Something I’ve learned from watching dance practices, is you can never tell what kind of day the group has had. Did they decide to film right after memorizing the material and they’re exhausted? Is it after promotions are over and they’re well rested?

I would love a live stage reaction/review but in many of them you can't actually see the choreo properly because of camerawork. you just like aggressive "hard-hitting" moves more which is why you didn't like the first one as much which is fine. Nothing to do with when they released the music. They've been killing it from the beginning but choreography styles will obviously be different per song. Keep reacting to their dance practices - they're the best female dancing group imo.
