I don't think anyone mentioned it yet, but the Glass Bead, Me Gustas Tu, and Navillera 2x were all on the same day, they did Glass Bead, and then immediately afterwards did Me Gustas Tu, had a break, then did Navillera, in the original clip they like collapse at the end of Me Gustas Tu and ask for water, it was insane... You should also check out the times that GFriend has done their choreo blindfolded, it was great!
not to mention that a lot of things happened and they just managed everything smoothly... Umji shoes, Sowon's mic almost fell and Yerin's mic did fell and she caught it during a spin and did the rest of the choreo holding it in one hand (she even switched hands when necessary)
Gfriend is not only the queens of 2x speed dance but also the inventer of it. It was one of the request from a gfriend fan that they did the 2x speed dance and made it super popular. Later it became one of the main keypoint of weekly idol. Rough was the 1st 2x speed dance they did.
the 2x speed dance was done before by other variaty shows and other idols, it wasn´t popular tho ,the whole point of it was to watch the idols fail and make fun of them... It DID become viral and became a fixed segment after Gfriend succed it
I’m always amazed when idols do the 2x speed dance challenge but Gfriend are beasts at it. They even did a 2x speed random play dance challenge and I’m pretty sure they succeeded in that challenge too.
Really? Wow I’ve only seen the one we’re they bet one of the hosts to make them something by hand if they succeeded and then they did. But I bet it would have felt even better to win after having lost before.
The thing I love about GFRIEND is that not only are they incredibly professional, well-rehearsed, and always spot on perfect...but they are very funny, don’t seem to take themselves too seriously, and just always look like they’re having a blast on these variety shows. It’s impossible not to fall in love with each one of them.
Every time you commented on Gfriend's ability to get right back in to place after fumbling and recovering quickly during "Me Gustas Tu", all I could think about was that one fancam of their "Me Gustas Tu" performance that went viral for exactly that reason. Buddys know which one I'm talking about. Btw, Gfriend was the group who popularized the entire 2x speed dance and made it become a regular segment on Weekly Idol.
actually navillera, me gustas tu and glass bead was danced by them straight without rest in one episode. they just wanted to watch Gfriend's power so they put those three songs together and Gfriend, without halt dance to them. sorry about my English T^T hope you understand.

To clarify on Sunny Summer: They started it at its original speed and then sped up in the middle of the song. Also, most times they never go to actual 2x speed (usually ~1.7x faster, regardless of what group), but for Sunny Summer they went to ~1.9x faster.

Gfriend invented the 2x speed with Rough bc a buddy asked them if they could do it and they saw that it did really well so they started making other groups do it also.

Gfriend is the first idol group to do a 2x speed dance on weekly idol and was successful too. ( they were also one of the first idols to try out the roller coaster speed dance and was successful on first try ) I think they were the only (if not one of the only) idol group to do 2x random speed dance (in which they play random songs at 2x speed, one of my personal favs ) def recommend to check it out when you have the time 🤧 great reaction as always!
One line synchronization is gfriend do it first because of one buddy uploaded their dance practice and combined the 1st and 2nd vers. And its trends thats why idol room mc want to see it so they did it.. Rollercoaster dance also gfriend the first one to succeed it..

I have to mention it, the subtitles dont say a lot, most of them just say things like 'wow amazing' 'bang' 'truly gfriend' even the bpm one just said 'this is a faster bpm' you're really not missing out on a lot korean variety show subtitles are more to send you in a certain way of thinking about what youre seeing than to give any extra info
Im not sure if you notice but Me Gustas Tu, Navillera and Glass Bead x2 version was shoot in one episode with no rest. After doing glass bead, they went to MGT right away then Navillera.

There was one time when they did 2x random speed dance! The first time they failed, but came back and slayed it! I would recommend watching it because some groups can’t do random play dance or 2x speed dance, but Weekly Idol combined both. They wanted to test GFriend to see if they could do it or not. 💜

Summer Rain was a semi ballad song so the MC made the song 1.5x faster because they know Gfriend will nail if they did 2x speed. Btw, Gfriend will have a new song this November, so we can expect new dance practice reaction from you later on!
When he said it reminds him of a dance with your hands, I wonder if he knows about Para Para. It originated in Japan, and became an arcade game, Para Para Paradise. Similar to DDR but you'd use your hands and follow a choreo (most people would just wing it though). Either that or cheerleading, which they always reminded me of since cheer is very strict about angles and synchronization :P

No matter what anyone says, including the computer, Gfriend will be my synchronization queens. Their choreos are no joke, their transition is always smooth, their angles don’t differ even if they differ in height. They made it trend and I loved it.
The 2x times dance speed is actually a challenge that the MC give to a group on a variety shows..and GFRIEND is the first group that doing this challenge on this show... And you know GFRIEND when hear a challenge..their will never disappoint us...the challenge was successfully executed perfectly..and then all the other idol groups including males idol is also doing the same thing... On 2 speed this video When they take 2 speed Glass Bead , Me Gustas tu and navillera. They take on one day because the clothes are the same, right? the order is : Navillera first - Glass Bead second - Me Gustas Tu third If you watch another video, you will know that after they have 2 speed glass bead, there is no pause they go straight to the song me gustas tu. So yes, it's natural in my opinion, many are tired of the Me Gustas Tu song
What amazes me the most about Gfriend is they can create a great positioning of members even though they are fewer and they are even number (6). Also, they can create a big imagery only using themselves.
I rewatch 2x dances every now and then and I always love watching SinB because she's always laughing at how ridiculous it is. My favorite part is always at 16:10 when you can see SinB losing her shit and they get back in line and then she pops out for her part as if she was fine the whole time. And right after Yerin's face is like "PLZ HELP" when she's singing.

Astro is a boy group that's just as good as Gfriend but, sadly, they don't get enough appreciation for their amazing job. I highly recommend you to watch them, you wont regret it:) I love this kind of videos too💕💕
Park Jun Hee choreographed most of GFRIEND's choreos, especially the earlier ones, LW was done by BTS's choreographer Son Sung Deuk and he helped out a bit with Glass Bead choreo with Park Jun Hee

That Weekly Idol show also had a Random Play Dance segment where they would play random clips from their songs at normal speed one right after the other and the groups had to do the correct choreo for the clip being played. The clips weren't necessarily at the beginning of the songs, either.

GFriend's company doesn't really have their own choreographer. Someone choreographs the song and send them the video then they will learn it by themselves. The choreographer will show up a day of two before the mv's recording to see if they are in sync with each other. if they are not, the music video recording will be moved. We stan hardworking queens
Pretty sure GFriend choreograph their own dances. Someone who works for Source Music sends them a video of a few possible moves and GFriend do the rest
Gfriend’s main choreographer used to be Park Jun Hee during the early days which included glass bead, mgt, rough, navillera, summer rain etc but it varies nowadays. E.g the main choreographer for love whisper was Bts’s choreographer, main choreographer for fever was chae dasom from freemind
Don't know if anyone mentioned, but that 2x speed thing started with GFriend, in the episode where they were promoting Rough (14:32) a fan called Weekly idol live and suggested the challenge, they did so well (without any practice!) that it became a trend, and weekly idol started doing it with all the idols afterwards. I believe they also "created" the random play dance challenge in weekly idol.
