when they gave us an Avenger like teaser to show theyre fighting a sound monster, then gives us a culturally filled short film of goblins being summoned to fight against villains ~and the MV is a harmonious blend of past and present set coz of their luxury branded clothes and high end cars blending with a historical setting hahaha

thank you for your reaction. Traditional mixed with modern on this m/v is chefs kiss. Stray kids is using double meaning in their wording and why they named this Thunderous because Pansori is defined as a Korean traditional narrative song that one sorikkun(Korean: 소리꾼), a singer, weaves a story with chang(song), aniri(descriptive speech), and nurumsae(motion). ... 'Pan' in pansori means 'a place where many people gather', and 'sori' means 'sound'. This is a dis track again to the haters calling their music noisy and so they are making the thunderous ones making noisy sound. Fault finders is not something that is a cultural thing. It means people that are always finding faults they call them fault finders it is a play on words, same as the wood cutter. When you chop down wood you are cutting down the tree same as hatters always cutting you down. Just a play on words and stray kids excel with double and triple meanings in their concepts and m/v

Hans part is like “I can do this with my eyes closed” his eyes are covered but he is still battling against Seungmin (I believe). Then he did that knife game where you close your eyes and quickly go between your fingers. Its basically saying “I can do this blindfolded, you’re no match for me”

Thunderous" is a diss track, a clapback at the haters who sneer at Stray Kids' so-called "noise music". They're saying that they're going to keep experimenting and making the music they want to make, no matter what people say about them.

A bit long...but... So from what I've learnt. The concept is that of dokkaebi (goblin) Korean folklore. Folklore goes if you're kind to a goblin then they return the kindness by ten-fold and if you're unkind to them then they will also return that by ten-fold. The folklore also states that goblins appear as little blue flames. The ptui ptui ptui part (spitting) is done to ward off like say unluckiness or in this case negativity (the haters).

The song sounded and feels like Colors from their Kingdom performance with BtoB and Ateez. You can watch their full choreography in Mnet and they had remade Wolfgang as OT8. You can see some choreography details that are coming from kingdom performances not only from SKZ but the whole kingdom performances. It seems this is a statement song for all haters and bashers to their kingdom family and in general.
