Taemin is known for making use of his androgynous side, he said in an interview that he wants to break the stereotypes of male kpop artists always having to have heavy or ‘cool’ dances. He wants to show that dance doesn’t have a gender and that if is just a type of art, check out his last comeback “Move” it’s really apparent there!

He’s from the group SHINee, also known as the Princes of Kpop. Taemin is called the Michael Jackson of Kpop too. He’s phenomenal. Check out Taemin - Press Your Number which was produced by Bruno Mars. SHINee - 1 of 1. Taemin has an amazing solo career. Highly recommend diving deeper into him and his group. The boy debuted when he was only 14 years old.

Michael Jackson is actually one of Taemin's influences. He's looked up to him since he was a kid. Also, please react to some more Taemin! All of his MV's are amazing, but my reccomendations would be the "Move" mv. There's a regular version and a performance version. There's also the dance practice for that song if you are interested. The dance practice for "Sayonara Hitori" (One of his Japanese songs also known as "Goodbye") is really good as well. There are also two versions of that. One on his own and one with the coreographer Koharu Sugawara. The dance practice for "Danger" is interesting as well since there are clips from when Taemin was in LA learning the choreo.

Taemin has cultivated a signature style that sets him apart from anyone else in kpop. I think Move is still my fave, but I loved this song and MV. And, I'm watching from California. The MV is #26 on trending in the US

if you read the cc (which i know didn't work for the reaction) you can tell that the song is about temptation. Snakes and apples are also symbols for that so that's basically the theme of the mv His dances all are extremely mesmerising it's not just about his moves but how he pulls them off. And I don't think ppl are actually "comparing" him to MJ but he IS heavily influenced by him AND in K-Pop he has a similar statues, as the group he's from (Shinee) is called the princes of K-Pop and he is known to be an incredible and creative dancer who's always challenging and inventive. many ppl, especially idols look up to him. so that's why he's called the MJ of Korea. not bc he's copying his style or anything like that. Michael Jackson is mentioned in connection with Taemin also just because Taemin is also one of the top iconic dancers of his country. He's kind of a prodigy. He's only 25 or 25 but debuted when he was only 14 so he's been in the game a while...and this was when it was even more rare to debut young. He's the youngest member of his group SHINee. An incredibly famous group and famous for their dancing, but even at that young age he was recognized as the best dancer I. The group. For years he was Kpop and Korea's baby and prodigy. Now he's not only in his group but also has a strong solo career and is widely respected as one of the best dancers in Kpop

i'm watching from south korea! and here it's trending 17 hehe as expected from Taemin the video is really good and I'm so happy that he has become an artist that you can watch sth and say "wow that's so Taemin". Like yes, MJ influences etc, but at the end of the day, just Taem.

i think I read somewhere that the concept behind it is the embodiment of sin, taemin being the snake that tempts eve with the forbidden fruit. looking at the lyrics as well it does make sense and the apearence of the gates of hell behind him as well

even tho taemin has his history with shinee i think it's more interesting to check his solo stuff first. there are not thaaat many mvs (or dance practices/performance version if you will) and you can catch up easily on the main ones at least, so chronologically we have: - danger (2014) - press your number (2016) - drip drop (2016) - sayonara hitori (2016) - move (2017) - thristy (2017) - want (2018) there are some others but these ones have more impact :P

You should check Move also, best ever.

You really need to check out Move (from October 2017, his last comeback before this one) Want is an extension of Move (also the same choreographer, Koharu Sugawara, choreographed both). Move became so iconic, almost every idol has covered it at some point and he won for best performance at MAMA Awards. It just so different from what every other male solo artist has done, it's more gender neutral and restrained sexy. He's also done more modern dance type of choreos like Sayonara Hitori and Flame of Love, and more typical kpop type of choreo like Danger, Press Your Number (song made by Bruno Mars, btw) and Drip Drop. They're all worth checking out and there's dance practices to most of the ones I mentioned. He's not called one of the best dancers in kpop for nothing. He started dancing when he was around 11-12 years old by watching Michael Jackson videos, he's an expert in popping, and he debuted in SHINee when he was only 14 years old in 2008 (SHINee are vocal kings and also a really good dance group, you should check out their songs like Everybody, Sherlock and Your Number, to mention a few)

Taemin always releases a dance practice for the music videos that he does, we are still waiting for the dance practice for Want to come out, you might find you enjoy that more than the music video as it shows off the dancing. The music video for his song "Move" has three different dance videos. One is the typical dance practice in a room. Another is a performance video of Taemin dancing with backup dancers, and the last is a performance video where Taemin dances in due with the choreographer Koharu. Something awesome about Taemin is that he likes doing different things, he doesn't always dance the same way and if you watched one dance practice and then another, you might not think it is the same person because of how drastically different the dancing is. Flame of Love (dance version) Sayonara Hitori/Goodbye (dance practice) Press Your Number (dance version) Drip Drop (dance version) My favourite two out of these are Sayonara Hitori/Goodbye and Flame Of Love, they are some of his Japanese releases and are truly incredible. You’re right, Taemin is strongly influenced by MJ (he used to learn how to dance on his own when he was a kid watching MJ’s MVs), but he is so crazily talented and charismatic he managed to create his own unique and super intriguing style. Songs to watch are Move, Thirsty, Drip Drop and Press Your Number - there’s plenty more, but those are the ones that showcase his dancing the most. I think Taemin is portraying temptation itself. An Apple, a snake (serpent like dancing, being in a red suit around those wearing black (other snakes)). The part about being a toy, ect. Is just the snake luring you in and tempting you. Maybe even enstiling fake confidence? It's all about making you realize you WANT him. Love Taemin & this song.

Once the dance practice is released, i'd love to see your reaction to it! I have been obsessed with this song since it came out! The whole album has been on repeat. If you want to see something else from him, I really recommend Move, Drip Drop, Press Your Number, Goodbye (Sayonara Hitori - the dance practice or live stage), Thirsty and Ace. I'm a dancer as well, and this boy get me SCREAMING every time he release something. Oh, also, he's part of a incredible group named SHINee (same company of EXO and NCT). They're famous for bring sync dances and huge performances since 2008. I recommend the songs Lucifer, Good Evening, 1 of 1, Sherlock.
