Dw, ARMYs understand it’s from a respectful place. Thank you for the review! I’m also looking forward to SUGA’s further growth and confidence as a dancer following his shoulder surgery.
@@steezystudio You know that comment was so funny bc Yoongi does NOT look people in the eye XD So yeah his eyes are usually away from places, the other boys used to tease him because he will not look at them when dancing
Suga dancing is one of my biggest inspirations. He didn't want to be a dancer and here he is putting all of his energy into a solo dance. And for such a song! I feel like I can do anything just watching him
the thing i admire so much abt suga is that 10 years into his career as a member of the top group in the world, he has no real reason to improve in dancing if he didn't want to. but the fact that after healing from his shoulder surgery, he decided to go back to the basics and learn hip hop before his solo shows his dedication and passion
I loved that too. He said he knew he'd skipped over some of the foundations so he started over. Because he wanted to, that's all. No one would have been disappointed in him if he didn't! Such an inspiration. All of them, in their own ways. 💜
I think we give them lots of credit . We always compare them to themselves and not the dance line. We see it when they improve and shout them out for it.
I’m not sure where you guy that impression from lol. They’re down to dance for their team. For the Busan concert, Nam Joon and Jin started learning the choreo a little earlier than the others (refer to Hobi’s Suchwita episode). They DO want to learn the choreo and they’re dedicated to giving their best to their team.
Hes definitely one of the more underrated members when it comes to dance. Hes so clean, and his fancams are often my favourite. He doesnt steal the spotlight necessarily but he gets it DONE
We wouldn't come for you Clay😂💜 you always give such insightful comments and critics that I think any artist would appreciate. I love how you continue to discover more of each member of BTS💜
Aside from eating up the dance practice, Suga is also the sole writer and producer of Haegeum. He raps, produces, writes, dances, arranges, sings, plays multiple instruments, and performs. It's time we appreciate his many skills, not just his rapping
I think most people do, don't they? He's famous as a producer. I mean, yes please talk about it more, the man deserves it 😁 I just really do hear a lot about that end of the work as well.
People often forget that he couldn't really dance properly due to his shoulder injury. The last few years the pain was so bad that during touring or intense rehearsal before comeback, he couldn't move his arm and shoulder anymore without a daily injection in his shoulder to numb the pain a little bit (just remember their choreos have a lot of jumps and movements so imagine the pain). That is why now since he had the surgery he even smile so much more and he dance with so much more energy. Also even though he had the surgery he can only still raise his arm to a certain level. So yes he has improve very much since the end of his surgery recovery. Love your show. Love your input and it surely help us learn things. Also it is very entertaining. Thank you
He moves so much more freely now. Chronic pain is terrible. And their choreo has never been gentle on their bodies. I'm so happy we've had all these months of Suchwita and performances and open, happy, passionate Yoongi 💜
one thing i want to add is that the critique clay gave for suga is exactly what he praised jimin for when he said that he guides us where to look through his eyes.... interesting thank you!
Suga a.k.a Agust D a.k.a Min Yoongi dancing is one of my favorite things in the world. To be honest, I love his energy and his gestures. It's so amazing knowing that he was a b-boy (and really good at it) before his shoulder injury, and now, after the surgery, he tries to learn from scratch to dance (obviously, not b-boying but, the same), while continuing to produce, compose, and everything else. He is so, so talented, humble and kind that he deserves the best in the world. Thanks for the reaction!
Suga actually used to b-boy before he crushed his shoulder in a motorcycle accident. there are still a few videos of him out there from his trainee days where he was b-boying:)
I saw the tour! The dancers were great, the show was so emotional and incredible to see him perform as a solo artist. I really appreciate what you said about Suga's gestures and dance... so very true. Obviously at this point he is a dance, in that he has been training and dancing for may years now, but it all comes back to the rap for him I think - lyrics, rhythm, attitude.
I definitely think anyone in BTS absolutely deserves to be confident in their dancing because they made it through over 10 years with j-hope leading and teaching them, in addition to bighit's standards, which are honestly super high, I think. hybe's style is not easy to pull off. like, they know that not just anyone could do what they did.
I didn't even notice the eye thing! What a great catch, a detail so small that only someone with an eye for dance would really notice. Always love these videos because they give such great insight, while also appreciating the art!
Suga actually used to bboy before his shoulder injury when he joined (or was it while he was trainee?) BigHit. I do love his confidence. He’s not a dancer, but Meow Meow loves it =^_^=
seems like a lot of people don’t know he was into bboying and it makes me sad sometimes lol. i’m like okay guys u are kinda wrong but that’s okay! his footwork imo has always been really really good :)
Suga dancing solo is so great to watch and see him grow as an artist. His confidence is off the charts! Alec you are so cool and Clay I love your reactions, your critique is always positive and on point. 🤩🥰
Gesticulation 😭.. I’ve always wondered what word would be used to describe that, but it makes sense ! I’ve always noticed rap line are very good at directing their rap with their gestures, I mean, hobi is granted, but joon and yoongi are also really good at it, makes their lyrics sound more genuine and strong for their cyphers
Yoongi went into training thinking that he would not be required to dance. Well, that didn't last long. He's a confident and accomplished dancer. He really enjoys dancing now and learns new routines quickly. Some of BTS' dances have been painful for him to execute with his injured shoulder but he hung in there until his op in 2020. He said that ON and Black Swan finished his shoulder off so that he was not able to lift his arm. Now recovered he's back in there dancing with energy and obviously enjoying himself. It's always made a bit of a joke that he's a genius but it's proved to be true on this tour. Thanks guys for reacting and what a lucky man Alec is to have been one of the back up dancers.
I think Suga would be **delighted** to get that constructive critique from a professional dancer, Clay. It's a great note, and if you're getting to that kind of refinement... Then he's dancing well. I know how that kind of feedback feels 😊 He's worked hard at dance recently and it's so cool to see him really enjoying it. For years he was dancing with a really messed up shoulder... now that he can dance without that kind of pain, he's been starting over with lessons. I liked your point about his gestures and I think he's developing a style that builds on his physicality as a rapper - strong gestures & a lot of bounce & all the swagger in the actual universe. It translates really well, to my eye. He's enlisting now so it'll be a while before we see more of his dancing, but I fully expect him to win a talent show or two 😂
Thank you Clay! And thank YOU, Alec - for bringing positive energy to the stage and being an awesome dancer. That's how our faves are able to shine the most.
Yoongi has became so much more confident and comfortable in his own skin that his dancing has completely been transformed to this amazing style that’s part swag part dance. So unique.
@@evantesseract737Yes. Rum BTS was when I first saw him totally in command over a choreo. Almost as if he is finally dancing HIS style. Like seeing Jimin dancing the Like Crazy choreo. It was HIS. This is why I love BTS’ Chapter 2 so much.
When Clay mentioned the eyes I noticed it but not on every movement. I feel like if SUGA has seen that on playback he would have recorded it again no matter how tired he was. That's how BTS keeps their place as kpop kings--doing whatever it takes to create the best performance.
Suga aka Yoongi already knows about that "eye" critique of yours. He's known about that for a decade now. He and Jimin shared how much they practiced being synchronized down to the eye movement frame per frame. This might be a choreo video but it's also a rap showcase that's why he doesn't really need to apply that at all. I bet BTS know a lot more about dancing and performing than other professional dancers in the industry.🫣
The incredible thing about this was that he DIDN'T do this dance in the MV, or in concert. He created this JUST so ARMY would have a dance practice video to enjoy (and the ensuing challenges). BANGTAN💜ARMY
I would actually be interested in seeing a video on the kpop idols that are considered the "bad" dancers of their groups. (None of them are truly bad obviously, they're idols)
Min Yoongi is full of energy when he dances, which I agree comes from is staccato rap style. He is always fun to watch and I get excited when he raps. It fills me with energy. :)
Suga can Rap, create, direct, produce, play piano, organ, guitar, a great expressive dancer and now his voice is one that is loved by many. Oh yes, His acting skills are second to none. Sorry, disagree about the eye movement. This is one of his ‘sexy’ unique traits. We can’t take our eyes off of him. Don’t want him to change. Suga has a lethal combination of perfection - in every way.
he used to bboy pre-debut! so I always remember that whenever he's slaying faster footwork! his dancing was definitely impacted by his shoulder injury before having surgery and he has worked so hard in the few years its been since surgery to essentially level up...yoongi is definitely an underrated dancer!
Constructive criticism from professionals is always appreciated! Thank you for your insight. It’s really interesting to learn about the nuances that are incorporated into dance 🤗
you know what Clay, i know Yoongi/Suga would take that critique on board and do it, why, because he has J-Hope as his dance leader (stickler for details our Hobi) and Suga is always looking for ways to improve. He might be who he is (rapper, producer, songwriter 1/7 of the BTS, genius, useless encyclopaedia) HOWEVER he was and is a student first and always willing to learn and grow. That's why he's at the top. A fantastic critique, wouldn't expect anything less from Clay & the Steezy team 💜💜💜
Good to see this one, don't know why it didn't had a great circulation... It's a cool choreography, as needed on the Haegum energy and to see Suga as the protagonist.. His confidence, his attitude, his progress as a dancer...
@@alecalbright7560 you're doing great, most English speakers struggle with it, since there is no equivalent sound in English. Hope you had a great time performing with Yoongi 🙏
Yoongi’s insatiable hunger for success bleeds through, from his days as a trainee til now. Never satisfied, an achievement only makes him move the goalpost. Take notes, family!
that was good, constructive criticism, Clay, especially coming from you being a professional dancer and instructor 😊 highly appreciate this reaction, guys 💜
I would have to agree on the comment--he does things with specific intention-you can see this in all his work and when it comes together shooot it’s hard as hellllll
that was dope! great critique and tidbits from tour. i would have liked to see a bit more analysis of the moves themselves (what are they called? what styles (e.g. krumping) are they influenced by? how is he creating high impact and sustaining our attention?) but i can understand there wasn't that much to work with since it was such a short clip. looking forward to future projects, the work y'all have been doing with BTS lately (seven, d-day tour) is amazing!
I would never have thought that he's not a dancer; his stage presence and energy was such that I couldn't look away to watch the back-up dancers, although I tried, lol.
when i saw the thumbnail of suga's dance practice dropping, i had a very casual approach because i knew he knew how to dance but he wasn't super into it anymore. let me tell you, it was one of the best surprises i could ask for from him!
He actually was meant to sing ,rap and produce song (bang pd promised him to). But after 10 years look here he is who thought he would also have to dance 😂
Great eval as always! Ironically, as much as Suga didn't want to be a dancer, he did used to be a B-Boy back in the day. He ended up messing up his shoulder so he had to stop which he has now gotten surgery on.
Suga used to do Bboy. Jhope confirmed it and he told Suga was good. And at one point suga wanted to be a dancer instead of being a rapper or producer😂. Later he had to stop because of his shoulder injury. But from last year he started his dance class again after his surgery. He has started to learn dance by starting with basics. He has improved a lot. Its good to see him dance without pain. And its always good to have constructive criticism😊. If one don't receive, the growth of the person remain stagnant.
My man Yoongi is the best performer my gosh he practically prowled like a panther on that D-Day stage had us all in the palm of his hand - Absolutely epic tour & I love his complimentary dance vid 🔥 his energy & passion is always on fire I love him to pieces. Thanks buddy for being one of his backup dancers ✌️
I would love for you to do a reaction to Seven by Jungkook. Live or the dance rehearsal. His backup dancers are Brian Puspos, Nick Joseph, Dom Lashawn and Jake Kodish. I know you know them. It would be fun to see Brian back on Steezy. 😘💜🫰🏻 And I love Suga dancing. He has swag. 💜
Didn't even notice the eye thing cause his expressions kinda suits the song's lyrics . Also gesticulation 😭 yeah sure is good at that we can see it in his SOLO tour how he expresses his lyrics with that
Not sure if Suga was talking to army or maybe one of the guys. He apologized for not taking dancing seriously. He loves it now. Taking it seriously now! Doing great!
I like Suga's dance style. He is not particularly "professional" - you can see in his movements, that he's not that precise as j-hope or Jimin. But he is naturally able to go with the flow of music with his body control and adding a confidence to it so it just look good in the end anyway. Oftentimes we see dancers who are technically good but lack confidence and it ruins their performances completely. He doesn't have this problem at all.
For this reaction video, I think Suga did so much dances moves so speed between "gesticulature" movements that we hadn't much reactions... 😆 (apart the disclaimer, which was welcome, as it was for improvement 👍!)
Suga became a trainee sometime in 2010--2011. He had to learn to dance. So he has been dancing for 11 years. In the past year, he started to take actual dancing lessons rather than learn a specific piece of choreo. He said he has now come to really like to dance. He enters the military, probably next month, so it doesn't look like he will be improving his dancing skills for a few years
CLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY how long do i need to be on my knees to beg for you to get brian( the ever so chaotic and tbh i miss you two together) and nick to talk about jungkook! your reactions are🔥
Constructive criticism is good for everyone it always us to grow. I also think Yoongi would be okay with tips because BTS have always strived to want to get better in all areas… I think it is interesting when you said about his eyes. I think something important with Yoongi is he isn’t good with eye contact for long periods of time. If you pay close attention to him even in normal settings with just talking to people he doesn’t look at people eyes for long periods of time if he can help it. Idk if this is something that always just effects the dancing as well…interesting…🤔 I also find it interesting that from my knowledge (could be wrong, I am not an expert) but for someone who at first didn’t want to dance as a career, for the recent solo projects, it seems to me that his is one of the most difficult. It is interesting to me…. I hope he does this dance some day with all the other members (he said their had to be 6 other dancers, I am assuming for the other members). Edit: in the Suwitcha episode with Jhope he did talk about he liked to dance (and did some Bboying before the shoulder injury) and still likes to dance. I think though with his shoulder injury it made it hard for him and not enjoy dancing but when he got his surgery he seems happier and wants to dance again. Idk if the surgery is what changed his attitude but that is what it seems to me.
yes he can move more freely now. he used to always have to get injections and wrap it constantly. u can see in some performances where he can’t lift his arm up to a certain point. that’s gotta be painful, especially as a member of bts who do such demanding choreography. i rmbr his live after his surgery, he was so happy. i’m very very happy for him and enjoy watching him grow with his love for dance again :)
Suga's groove and footwork probably came from b-boying, there's video on RU-vid of him hitting a flip and hitting b-boy moves before debut(i actually dont know if it was before or after his shoulder injury, probably before) but still, knowing he had a fundament of dancing, makes sense why he's still pretty good.
