Upgrading the wheels & tires on any RC car is the greatest feeling. I'm obsessed with it. I have more Wheels & tires than my fiance's shoe collection, lol.
Friend of mine and I, each just got one of these redcat ridgerocks and we are wanting to replace the tires with taller, softer tires. But the problem we're having is we can't find anywhere that list exactly what size the stock tires are. So no matter what we find, we have no clue what it is in comparison to the stock tire. And apparently nobody in the RC world uses regular measuring tape to measure these things. So I can help us out here? What is the stock tire size?
Injora has really been making a big name for them selves in the 1/24 scale game. Great tires for 24s, and they make everything for the scx24. They are not new, but newish company. Thumps up from me👍.
What wheels are those? I have the ridgerock but cant find any 1.9 beadlocks wheels that fit. The ridgerock has that pin on the axle but no aftermarket wheels have that.
The links for everything in the video is included in the video description. That will get you directly there. My Ridgerock has 12mm hexes. Make sure your hex didn't come off in the wheel - that is common. Or, simply get a set of hexes when you pick up the wheels.
In my experience (which is not much:) injoras seem a little jumpy and are kinda worthless when wet. Thanks for another great video and cannot wait till you show us how to add weight to not just wheels!!
Really cool wheels Troy! I really like these. Can the 20mm center be ordered from the company you got these from? I’d even like to try them on other applications as well. Really cool video Troy. Thanks for the new ideas!👍🏻👊🏼🍻
3 days with these tires now. I tried putting the softer foam from the stock danchee tires in the bully tires and they work so much better! They really grab now, for it being so light weight (big battery helps) . Also added 20mm hub spacers too, but now they're a bit wide for my bridges. Gonna try 5‐ 10mm. Also made my own links yesterday from stainless drinking straws, that had a bend. So may not need spacers at all, because the bend is at the perfect spot.
@@RoadsideRC no problem. It was yours & a few other ridgerock vids that made me get one, this is my 1st rig and only 3 weeks in done most free mods & then sum. It's winter and can't stop fiddling making it better. As a wood worker I make bridge material daily but can't wait to try on natural terrain. Your vids are great, keep em coming!
I went to smaller wheels and tires while i was soaking my stock tires in simple green and water, for 4 days. Put the stock tires back on, really helps soften them up. I cut off the hood and bed to the cab, and painted it desert camo. For the price, there is none better.
I just got my ridgero k last week, but I picked up tires before that and found out I need some sort of adapter as the danchee has a pin not a hex. I wish you would have shown how you mounted them. Great video though, nice to see what a difference the tires made.
@@RoadsideRC yes, that's exactly what happened. I am new to this at 55 years old, tried it out with the new duratrex showdowns, huge improvement climbing a pretty steep hill. My first rc was a Tamiya super sabre from 1988. Still runs great. Thanks for your advice.
How did you get these rims to sit nicely on the ridgerock? they have a pin of sorts that slots in the stock wheel, but i haven't figured out how to have the system work with the carbon wheels
@@RoadsideRC Oh, I see now from looking at pictures online. What's the best way to remove that hex? I'll try to get it out when I'm back from work. Thanks for all your help! I went to a local RC store and they told me the ridgerock wasn't worth upgrading at all- that fueled me to prove them wrong and you're helping out a lot!
