Hey Alan ! I'm following you since 3-4 weeks, and I wanted to let you know my opinion on your tutorials. They are great, really. Your voice is beautiful and clean, it's really a good pleasure to listen to you playing guitar and singing. The thing is, I think you shall maybe try another strumming pattern, something different. Because well, you know, althought it's good and make really pleasure, I'll really appreciate a change in your strumming patterns, that are (in most case) the (not always) same. Good lesson anyways ! love ya

Cheers, Unless a song has a rigidly defined strumming pattern I use whatever I feel suits it best. Best wishes - Alan :)

Big fan Alan. Just wondering if you would take a request. I've been trying to learn Owen Campbell's "Remember to breathe" with no luck. Wondering you could try and maybe post a video on it? Thanks ! If not, still a big fan, keep up the great work!

@guitartutorman
@guitartutorman Год назад
Hi Elem, the white arrow represents a palm mute. you can access a video tutorial of how I do this here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IYqI-q7hBSI.html All the best to you - Alan 😊

New to Guitar playing Alan. Can you tell me what the yellow down strums mean?
@guitartutorman
@guitartutorman 7 лет назад
Hi Stuart - They represent a palm mute; you have to place your hand across all the strings on a down strum a fraction of a second before the pick hits. It’s all about timing and finding the best position for your hand to make contact. It took me a few days of practice (on and off in bursts of about 10 minutes 3 or 4 times a day) but It was worth it. I hope this helps. Best of luck. Alan :)

Thanks, wasn't sure whether your yellow arrows on your tutorials were ghost strums or scratch strums.
