Doug’s stories were a huge part of my early years of motherhood, long before I started studying herbs. 20 years later I met him in person while at the Gaia Herbs farm tour for retail professionals.

Finally he wrote the department of agriculture. What an adorable sweet soul you are Doug - had me smiling and yes, dandelions are so good for us. They are featured in a song from the Lost Words - Spell Songs by beautiful poets and musicians from my Celtic Isle. I have fond memories of blowing the seeds to tell the time and make wishes.

My beloved grandma used to be often bent over the lawn to pick dandelion leaves for salad... And when I was almost dead for 6 months after delivering my first baby, her voice gently whispered to me through all the layers in between the worlds "dandelion"... I got the message and asked my mom to pick me some. After 2 weeks I was up on my feet. I don't know what it was in those leaves that healed me, but I do know they heal and they deliver magic so simply and humbly...

Thank you so much Doug...this is an extremely interesting video. I LOVE dandelions! I've eaten the greens and love them but didn't realize you could eat the flowers. Also, drink dandelion tea. The other day I realized that here in upstate NY when it is cloudy out the flowers stay closed during the day! Thank you for the GREAT Dandelion song!!

He's awesome! I was just eating some sauteed dandelion leaves from my yard - with a few new kale and beet leaves that have been coming up) when I saw this! Most culinary dandelion seeds are a chicory and not a true dandelion (taraxacum) so you have to check when ordering. I plan on growing dandelion all year round so I can have fresh greens all year.
