Back when the anime came out, I asked some musician friends if they were able to identify the sound at 1:55. General consensus was that it was a synth trumpet. In particular it sounded a lot like a certain soundfont that came standard with some real old Casio keyboards, but it was too distorted in post-production to be sure. But that's when we found the critical piece of evidence that put all the other pieces into place. While my friend was trying to recreate the sound on his keyboard, I realised that I had heard that soundfont somewhere before, and asked him to play a short progression of notes to verify. As it turns out, it's *exactly* the soundfont used for the first few notes of Mr Monokuma's Lesson from DanganRonpa 1, meaning that the sound at 1:55 is probably a short, highly distorted sample from that song. As usual, Monokuma was just Junko all along.
Or at a dark club where everyone is wearing monokuma helmets and the lighting is black, the same shade of purple that the blood was colored in the games, and white and everyone was in despair
I hated her execution, it was so awful and just used to get an emotional reaction from the audience, I’m really sorry but I honestly despise her execution.
@@dahoomajaji8424 That's what the execution was meant for. Not for various emotional reactions from the audience, but for the specific feeling of despair and hatred towards the fact that Chiaki had died by the hands of Junko. You, my friend, still ended up in that trap.
I think of this as being Enoshima’s character theme, it just portrays her so well. On one hand, it’s perky, upbeat, and sort of sounds like something you’d hear as a supermodel struts down a catwalk. On the other hand, it’s very intimidating, maniacal, intense, and just feels... off. The composer for this did an outstanding job.
I honestly think this music is one of the best tracks Masafumi Takada has ever done in the DR series. It just suits Junko right down to the ground. It sounds like a nightclub rave going on while the world burns.
Nonono, it should be "the biggest, most awful, most tragic event in human history". (I've heard that so many times in DR2 that I just had to write this xD)
I wasn’t impressed with the earlier parts of the despair arc, but once it got going Jesus Christ it got fucked up really fast. From the first killing game with the student council, the boy sawing into his own neck, the mass suicides, and Chiaki’s execution. Everything about this arc is so ridiculously fucked I can scarcely believe it. Never have a I seen such horrific psychological violence in an anime before, but I think that’s what makes it so great.
Yeah i think that was the point. the first few episodes feel like the calm before the storm. because if you've played the games you know this arc wont end happy. and then they show it and its still fucked up.
That part at 1:55, to me, represents Junko perfectly: all the way from her valley girl fashionista side to her sadistic twisted personality. It's perfect, and I love it so much.
@@annlewis7279 lol a crossover pair up would be funny. She should be the new Harley Quinn, Joker would approve haha. That way batman can have some challenge
Spoiler warning: I love this soundtrack so much, especially this song. It fit the dramatic and heart wrenching demise of Chiaki. I just find it so heartbreaking that the 2 saddest deaths in the series (in my opinion) are both of Chiaki's executions. Edit: When I made this comment 4 years ago, V3 hadn’t been translated yet and I had not experienced it. I now rescind the claim that Chiaki’s deaths are the saddest in the series.
I like how the beginning is usually used for Junko and Izuru: the beginning of despair, and the end is end is used during Chiaki getting killed which is when Despair happens
I don't understand why the hate on it, i mean, sure It has It's flaws but there are greats moments too like the student council Killing game while Junko gave her speach about despair, that was brutal and at the end when she stares at the scream showing all the dead kids and her eyes starts resemble monokuma's, It gave me the chills ngl.
I wanted the ending to be everyone getting brainwashed by the hope video That would have been so beautifully fucked up. And it would also make Tengan seem not so completely pants-on-head retarded if his plan had actually worked.
Junko Enoshima tbh the funimation dub was so bad it was hilarious lolol But yeah megumi did a really good job with the voice (mukuro as well!! She got to sing too haha)
Sorry my answer probably came of as annoyed Pfft. Then again I rarely use emojis so most people think I'm annoyed 24/7 when I'm writing with them. I just hate the dub for its cringy lines and Junko's voice wasn't very fitting too. And Mukuro was way too much robot like! I mean she kinda is. But not when she is with her dearest younger sister Junko. They really should hve just taken Erin Fitzgerald instead of that Jamie girl.
Really wish I could find the music that's playing during that exact moment of the episode. It plays again at the start of the final episode, when Junko's in front of the window, but it's not on either soundtrack.
Remember those days... when the first OST was released, everyone was like where is the Enoshima Junko theme?! So we had to wait for the second OST. That was despair right there. Nicely played.
"A young ravishing girl sits at the airport. Her name: Junko Enoshima. Just then, a familiar face shows up, yes, the other one of the despair sisters, the smelly one: Mukuro lkusaba." *Super High School Level Soldier Mukuro Ikusaba* "Hey junko, I'm grateful you came here to meet me and all but, what are you doing?" "Duh, I'm doing the narration" "Oh okay, cool." "And so the event which would later bone the whole world, the biggest most atrocious despair inducing incident in human history was finally set in a motion that afternoon. Nobody realized it just yet, but they would soon enough."
I think it would play before or during an execution. This song feels like imminent despair, but body discoveries are supposed to be shocking and catch you off guard.
“I don’t disagree with you, class rep, but sometimes... Very rarely... Two wrongs can make a right.” The most chilling part is that he was completely right.
The ironic thing is, for all of Junko's analytical skill, she was still deluded by the false narrative of a hopeful world spread by Hope's Peak. She saw the world as boringly hopeful and sought despair for her own entertainment, yet as we've all seen in recent years, the world we live in creates Ultimate Despair all on its own. How different would things be, if Junko had seen through the peeling facade to a world awash in despair, and grown bored of that?
I mean, her whole deal is that she sees the potential for despair in hopeful situations. She saw the hope projected by Hope's Peak and turned it into despair.
1:55 OHHH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDD THIS IS IT!!!! THIS IS THE TRACK I WAS LOOKING FOR. god. Every time junko appeared on the screen and this song played, i wanted to be her so bad. GODDDDDD
I once put this song on a car and with the doors open and the volume at the max, and everyone was looking at me and asking, "What is this" and I remeber someone tell me "This gives me bad vibes but I can't stop hearing it" and at my mind I said "Junkos Hipnosis!!" xD
Aww this song is so edgy it reminds me of my merry sue self-insert from the stories I was daydreaming about when I was little. Like that one time on a family party where I was just silently observing everything imagining how Badass would everyone look like if an apocalypse happened right that moment. Oh this brings back so many memories, this feels like home. This is really heartwarming.
@@weirdcorequipo2942 Of course I am okay ! It's normal to think about interesting situations while you're bored. Doesn't Danganronpa exist for that reason in the first place ? It's to stimulate thinking and feeling to prevent boredom and the sense of unfulfillment. But before I found out about Danganronpa, I had to make my own stories to entertain myself. And now I see that my daydreaming energy is pretty similar to Danganronpa's energy. Which is causing me to sense a warm feeling of familiarity. But it also means that I have to find inspiration in a different kind of energy. Because otherwise my daydreaming would be like composing a song that was already composed. Or at last I think.
@@weirdcorequipo2942 Oh... it was ? Sorry for my obliviousness ! I merely felt called out because I tend to feel guilty for the things I imagine xD I end up asking myself if I am really okay. Especially since I want to use those things to make art, I need to make sure they are not over the top ! I was like ,,Are they refering to something..." cuz I am incapable of putting myself into stranger's shoes to realize that you can't possibly be refering to anything(therefore I missed the joke) and I thought maybe, based on your response, I experience daydreaming differently than other people ? That would higher the possibility of my art being over the top. So I tried explaining it to make sure that I don't xD So yeah I was just paranoid, or something. Anyway, the original comment is specific because I wondered weather people are gonna be able relate to it regardless. I wondered if they connect the same feelings to the same objects or events. Or at least I think.
imagine this ost goes to team sun and moon skull head quarters tho or ultra beast rise and rampaging the island and the news lady make a report about ultra beast tho
My favorite song of the Danganronpa 3 anime. This is Junko Enoshima's theme song, this is the theme song of Despair itself. The whole scene where Junko and Mukuro were introduced was amazing, that part from 1:55 and onwards is so fucking good man😍 Junko Enoshima is and will always be best Danganronpa girl.
Junko Enoshima/Ryoko Otanashi has pretty much become my personal SHSL Goddess/Waifu for life!😍💕 Specifically cause of both great Villain/character and in my opinion the DR Female characters who is the most memorable honestly. my 2nd# favorite is Mahiru Kozumi, 2.5 Junko's soldier twin sister Mukuro. 3rd choice being Ibuki Mioda, #4 is Celestia Ludenbursg. lol
Junko Enoshima will always be my favorite Danganronpa girl and character. No matter who they create for future Danganronpa games/animes, nobody will be better than her. Also nice top 4, my top 3 Danganronpa girls are: 1. Junko, 2. Ibuki (if not for Junko, this beauty would've been no.1) and 3rd place is Mikan. And I've recently played the DR V3 demo and man the girls in that game are all beautiful😍 So many new waifus, let's hope some of them survive. DR V3 Main Character Kaede is also pretty cute.
Canım Türkiyem Yeah I hope to watch the whole DR V3 English sub walkthrough. But true no other DR female character can top Junko for me. Kaede is very adorable hope she is interesting as Hajime was as Komaru Naegi or Hajime Hinata.
Who knows,Junko became superfluous after 1. In fact, think properly on what happens after her death and, Ultra Despairs Girls aside, Junko had nothing to do with said events. DR2 was entirely orchestrated by Izuru and as a test to determine whether Hope was stronger than Despair and it was all sparked by Nanami's last words to him. Danganronpa 3 Future Arc was all about the Future Foundation reaching an impasse in their battle to erradicate Despair and their leaders just going into extreme measures. Even Ultra Despair Girls was just a creepy child using Junko as an excuse to have fun by playing with people's lives, hence setting up an "Ultimate Hope" to play with, and Nagito using the situation to create Despair to fuel true Hope. Basically, everything that happens After DR1 is beyond Junko's grasp. She had no endgame after her own death.
