I still am fond of the dude, don't get me wrong. But Maeda has developed an amazing talent recently in "criticizing people at their absolute lowest at the worst time in the most accusatory way"!!! And then he has the audacity to wonder why they reacted so negatively. BRO you just told an emotional person that their emotions could go fuck themselves because apparently true hope is in being positive 24/7. Perhaps he's not an Ultimate Despair or the Ultimate Lucky Student... but maybe his true Ultimate all along was the "Ultimate Toxic Positivity", lmaooo Maeda wasn't completely heartless in his spiels, but man, he could have presented what he wanted to say way much more gently... I thought Taira would be the main pusher of the whole "live laugh love" agenda, but looks like Yuki too also lacks any kind of tact, situational awareness, or gentleness in talking to people who he clearly knows are vulnerable. Of course a person who has proven to be extremely stubborn and is probably on the verge of punching you in the face will be willing to listen to reason if you nitpick their trauma-induced behavior with FACTS and LOGIC!!! /s But yeah, that was definitely not the time to critically psychoanalyze someone when they're currently emotionally unstable. I am shocked that he learned absolutely nothing from his past encounter of almost getting bodied by a clearly unhinged Kinjo when he tried to ✨divine Kinjo's true feelings✨ tarot-card style.... and subsequently failed to resonate with him in any meaningful way. Instead of getting a mouthful from Maeda (who was delusional enough to think he himself had mindreading powers), Kinjo just needed a hug, some gentle insight, and a listening ear man 😢 (although he may reject the hug because "hurr durr police offers don't need mushy-gushy gestures of friendship"...like the clown he is) Now, Kinjo is not exempt from criticism of course, but you can save all that talk for when he's in a more receptive headspace. And god, Maeda's random criticism of Mekaru for showing fear for the first time time he's seen her... Dude. Has her tsundere tendencies not clued you into the fact that she needs to be treated gently so that you don't end up pushing her away? Especially when she is, like Kinjo, in a vulnerable state??? Perhaps the most vulnerable you have ever seen her in?????? Why was your immediate reaction to someone being afraid in a very scary situation to tell them to "just stop???" If you try to criticize a vulnerable person for showing emotion, they're going to register your words as an attack on their character and react defensively. And if you actually want to have a conversation instead of an argument, invalidating their feelings is NOT the road to maintaining good relations. I don't think that Maeda has fully realized that in both instances, he was probably the closest to an emotional support buddy that either of them ever had. These are two loners whose only (somewhat) positive relationship was WITH Maeda. Mekaru respected Maeda more than the rest of the cast, and Maeda was the only one to reach out to Kinjo and give a shit about his wellbeing. So I'd imagine that receiving that kind of "your feelings are invalid" response from the closest person to a friend you got is just DEVASTATING. Ugh. Or maybe this just Maeda's wolf of despair coming out in hopeful sheep's clothing... But why the fuck did the BDA play when Kinjo committed suicide??? I am so concerned help. This better be one of those "there is no culprit but we will execute someone anyway" trials like in THH. Because oh jesus, don't tell me that one of the members TALKED KINJO INTO COMMITTING SUICIDE??? That is the only way I can think of this to be framed as a murder case... if the culprit actually did something like that, I will beat their ass /nsrs
