Episode 9 will be releasing this weekend, then next week will be Episode 10! This will conclude the investigation portion of Deadly Life. As previously mentioned, the trial and beyond will be in the future, as we will be gathering the remaining assets we require for the entire series. Also note that although we have had a VA change, with JayJitsu stepping down from her role as Moraiteru, this will not be the case in these episodes. Only from the trial onwards will our new VA for Moraiteru, Luucarii, be taking on the role! A final note. Cross edited these next two episodes. This is his first time editing the series, so if you notice anything different, please don't mind it. All in all, we only had one editing glitch with a text box for less than a couple of seconds in this episode. Everything else is very much what you would have come to expect from this series. Thanks guys! Discord Link: discord.gg/gfzUuAJf
I’m sure all the work put into the fangan will all be worth it! The SH team has always been great and we all appreciate how hardworking you’ve all been with the project! Take all the time needed
It's unfortunate about JayJitsu stepping down from voicing Moraiteru, but I want to say she's done a really good job in her time with the character. As well, I'm sure Luucarii will do a great job as well, since she's quite talented herself.
Wait did anybody notice that when Rox’s older brother said “I promise…kid” that’s probably the reason why Rox called Enigma “kid” too as a way to cope with her trauma/and or keep his memory alive by adopting a part of him- 😭 0:28
@@TonyRedgrave OMG I DIDNT EVEN THINK ABT THAT and she was close with Enigma, who she made a promise too, but ultimately ending with her death too. I know her death is supposed to mirror her brother’s, but that first bit made it deeper 💔
With the blood on the stool leg and base of the podium, I think the culprit must have put their hands there (to move the stool and tip over the podium). However, Grisp and Scarlet haven't noticed anyone with injured hands. I think this means that the culprit is one of the three people wearing gloves (Scarlet, Cross, Pocket) who could use their gloves to hide an injury on their hands. Also, did it seem suspicious to anyone how Scarlet knew how to move the classroom monitor with no explanation? On another note: I am LOVING this investigation mode, which already has more questioning, alibi checking, and strategic planning between characters than even the main games' investigation segments.
Yeah, I wish Scarlet explained how she knew the monitor thing. Maybe it'll come out during trial? I am thinking Pocket atm, and the gloves thing makes sense. During trial they'll use that to put pressure on him, 100%. Using the monitor, if one could get it to retract, they could hoist a body up w/out needing the upper body strength 🤔
I think Pocket makes the most sense out of the people with gloves, Scarlet and Cross both seem like characters that need more development in future chapters. He was also around for half of the drinking party, which has to be relevant to the trial.
Yes but for far more than just that. I haven't seen a single comment mention it yet but Rox said that Scarlet was the one who gave her the idea to have a drinking party. There's also the fact that Scarlet was the first one in the dining hall making breakfast. My theory is the culprit (who was listening in the Incinerator's room) ambushed Rox in the girl's bathroom, knocked her out and then moved her to Room 1-B. The most interesting part is that the only girls who attended the drinking party were Rissi and Rox, with Rissi being pretty much instantly asleep after that. So, if you think of it a certain way, the drinking party could've been used to lure Rox to the girls' bathroom. So yeah, Scarlet is definitely a prime suspect for the premeditation piece. But it's not a perfect theory.
You know the team did a great job with us guessing who the first victim was when a few had several 'death flags'. I couldn't nail it down to one lol. The first victim was one of my guesses. I can't wait to see how this investigation goes. Here's another question though- will we learn the victims and culprit's real names throughout the fangan or all at the end when the full truth is revealed? Lol.
*Oh my god! Okay it's happening! Everybody starts calm! STAY FRICKIN CALM!* Jokes aside, I've waited so long and I'm so happy you're all still working on this fangan! It's my #1 favorite fangan and I love everything you put into this 💕💕 Can't wait for its premiere!🎉
THE SH HYPE IS BACK BABY!!! It’s SO nice to see another episode of series, even though it’ll be a long while until trial episodes are done. Appreciate the SH team for all their hard work behind the scenes, and I will make sure to enjoy the small bits able we’re able to have until the trials ready
So far we have two main suspects, Rock and Yaxi, but they seem too obvious so I'm not sure if any of them will end up being the culprits. From the two I think it's Yaxi, she has a lot of evidence against her, but the heart monitor in the room right next to the crime scene threw me off because it may proof that she was there and couldn't hear anything that was happening outside. Then there's Rock, I don't think he's the culprit but his actitude in today's episode, the fact that his backstory has already been shown to us and the shards found near the body sure point right at him. Let's see what others clues we get next episode
Rock, Anon and Cross couldn't possibly be the culprits. Remembering, they're the ones who triggered BDA and it could only be triggered if at least 3 people other than the Culprit themselves discovered a body.
It could also be Pocket, unfortunately. Scarlet witnessed him leaving shortly after Rock without furthur explaination. Plus he wasn't one of the three for the BDA, making him already a suspect by default. Rock himself seems too obvious (and quite frankly I literally don't want it to be him because he's my dude) and Yaxi is too plausible to the point that it could be someone else, especially with Moreiteru's plan for the coming trial.
@@doridoriyaki5311 When was that said? the only time the cannon games mentioned something like this they also said if the blackend were to "discover" the body with somebody they would add to the BDA counter since the BDA is not supposed to help solve cases. Now if somebody finds three body completely alone find the body one by one then yes they would be in the clear but in this case they all found the body together AKA none of them are safe due to the BDA.
@@Arthas30000 If they're not glass, there's not much else they could be. Marble maybe, or some kind of gemstone? Come to think of it, weren't Rock and Cross the first to discover the body? If was a gemstone, Rock might've dropped it when he spotted the body, since the shards are right by the door and otherwise don't seem relevant to the rest of the evidence.
i Feel that, i was like "hehe maybe she just....killed herself, then noone else dies" but then i saw the evidence and was like "dammit i dont want anyone else to die so soon ;(". Great Job from the team in that regard
Spoilers and thoughts Judging by the cause of death, Rox was probably knocked out from behind like Enigma was before being killed by hanging her up. If she was hit from behind, the struggle is likely just a red herring.
That doesn't make sense, if there was no struggle how do you explain the room? That would take more time to set up and more time to be discovered, which is a gamble most would not take. Also she would not have left herself open like that unless it was someone who she really trusted.
The murder happened late at night, despite Scarlet saying she saw Rox go to bed. She had to have come back out late at night for one reason or another, which resulted in her being killed. As for the crime scene, only some stools and a table are knocked over. Even if there was a fight, I don't see an entird table getting knocked over like that, especially if there was minimal blood at the scene. One of the stools knocked over is all the way in the corner of the room as well, nowhere near where the body was found. The whole fight in room 1-B seems like a set up to me. Not to mention, at the time this was happening, most of the cast would have been fast asleep, so the killer would have plenty of time to do whatever they needed to do.
@@tnt1770 I see your argument and acknowledge your points, but I still don't believe our killer would take that kind of risk still, after all who says she was knocked out there? They could have attempted to kill her somewhere else that was not part of their plan, then Rox put up a fight and the killer was forced to knock her out, so they had to change plans, they found the soundproof room one way or another but gagged her to make absolutely certain she couldn't speak or be heard. Then they did the murder. My prime suspects are Pocks, Rock and Scar. Strength is a big factor here after all. For both Enigma and Rox. I lean towards Rock since Pocks is, not crafty enough. Now then, if Can made this plan then I would say Pocks is a prime suspect. But for now, Rock is my guess.
Oh shit. I remember watching episode 8 when it came out and waiting for 9 to come out. Didn’t think it would be two years later but they’re finally here.
Incredibly excited for these two episodes, even though the wait for all the assets has been long I'm sure it will be worth it when we start getting all the remaining episodes one after the other.
So excited. Well, not excited for what's going to be investigated, but excited that we're here. I also kinda love the way Danganronpa messes with your head in a sense. "Is the person who the game is making look obviously suspicious the culprit? Or maybe because they're too suspicious, they actually aren't the culprit. But maybe because they've made you think they're not suspicious because of how suspicious they're being made to look, they're actually super suspicious." Always fun to watch.
It's so good to be back with these characters! Everyone's bringing their best and props to Cross for his editing debut for this series!!! Also it has come to my attention that I have gone FAR too long without listening to Stevie and Co's music. Will remedy this by replaying the ep 20 times today.
THIS IS THE BEST EARLY BIRTHDAY GIFT!!! 😭💕💕I'm so excited!! been waiting for soooooo long (my favorite danganronpa fan series!!! keep up the awesome job!💕🙏)
This was a great episode. Throughout the entire thing I was worried that based on how Rox was killed and the tools used that Yaxi might have been the obvious culprit however it's not until we get closer to the end of the episode where a couple of nuggets dropped that might put Yaxi in the clear. 1. Apparently in the room right next door to the room the murder occurred in someone was working out with a heartbeat monitor from right before the murder occurred to way after the murder happened. This suggests that the person in that room not only wasn't involved in the murder but because the rooms were sound proof they couldn't hear the murder happening either. Of course it's still possible either Pocket or Rock were here but if I'm a betting man that where I'd be putting Yaxi. 2. At the very end of the episode Mori (although in a more crazy and grudge filled fashion) is taking the position of the audience by suggesting that Yaxi must have been the only person capable of knocking out Enigma and committing the murder. She is so aggressive about it in fact that she want Enigma to help her peg Yaxi as the murderer without even talking to her at all. This is the classic chaotic character trying to go at the obvious choice but the obvious choice is often the biggest red herring. The writers could still flip this formula but I now feel a lot more confident that Yaxi didn't do it. She's most likely going to get grilled heavily in the trial but be proven innocent later. For those of you wondering I predicted Rock to be the killer and let me tell you nothing I learned this episode nor anything he did this episode made his case any better for me. In fact his case is even worse now because not only is he running around even more suspiciously than he did before the murder took place I wouldn't even be surprised if Mori is covering for him for some reason. They did meet up beforehand and now all of a sudden he's gone and Mori is gunning for Yaxi? Ya I'm even more suspicious of him. We will see what we learn in next weeks episode. Pocket is still unaccounted for but I still don't think it's him.
I still think it is either Rock( he is a crafty person, he is skilled with using ropes as well) or Pocket( gloves, strength, the so called unpredictability factor).
Rock was my second suspect before Scarlet (I may not suspect her now as much as before), but like now that you bring it up, yeah, Moraiteru's being a bit weird about this. She's accusing Yaxi on the basis of a rivalry that existed before the motive drop. On top of that, Rock is dropping hints *right in front of her* whether or not he's the culprit, and she just dismisses it. WHAT THE FUCK, MOR, DO YOU HATE YAXI THAT MUCH???
so you're telling me corza is gonna be a support character? nice! love the guy he's my fav my first suspicion was also yaxi, such as moraiteru said. now im wondering if either mor or cross is gonna be the "antagonist" type, both fit so well really. also that voice acting??? man, everyone is doing such a great work! loved enigma's rage, is so wonderful
I am so excited and how hard you all have been working is amazing I can see the hard work and I know the quality is going to be just wow from the thumbnail the team should be proud pat yourself’s on the back a second there!
I hate to say this but I think the culprit is regrettably Scarlett. Upon the Body Discovery Announcement she had a strange fearful look on her face and was among the only ones that didnt comment on anything. Scarlett even was shocked that the poisons truly intended to kill them... Which felt a bit off....
thats true, i cant really remember Daily Life since its been a while, but couldnt scarlett be able to tell if the poison would eventually lead to their demise based on symptoms? because what youre saying kinda makes sense
@@DarkOasis Hard to say, it's not like she had any diagnostic tools or a research lab on hand, and there's only so much you can do to diagnose something from just its early symptoms alone.
Scarlett knew how the rope was tied and could have been used to move the body via the door. Scarlet is the only one to ask about Cancel's ability to detect the killer.
I’m so happy this series is back! Well it didn’t really go away that much 🤷♀️ Anyway, i was so surprised and happy when i saw that this was coming out soon! I’m so excited for this new episode considering i love this one a lot! Great to see you back Shattered Hope! Also; the episode is called Breakdown…and Enigma in one of the last “trailers” didn’t sound very…uhm……nice… Poor Enigma for the time being…..
This episode was amazing, I loved it. I can see the love put into this. This is why you should always be patient when someone works on a project. Worth the wait.
I have two major theories: Rissi and Rock. Rissi and Pocket both drank non-alcoholic drinks, but Rissi was the only one who got drunk from them. It's possible that either Rissi faked it, or that someone gave her something else. It's possible that Rox might've tried to kill Rissi with the knife, but Rissi somehow managed to incapacitate her with a heavy object, and used a pully system to hang Rox, and make it look like someone stronger did it. For the blood, she might've gotten cut, but covered herself up with the bandages. Rissi's reaction is also a little weird when they found the body. As for bandages... When the body was found, instead of focusing on Rock's face, we first see his bandaged arm. It's a usual part of his design, but it's interesting to focus on. Along with his lack of alibi, his time in the bathroom, and him just finding Enigma when unconscious makes him suspicious. A last note is that it seems VERY likely that Yaxi is going to play a big part in the trial. From the Rope, Tape, and Heartrate monitor, it all seems to corollate that someone athletic is the blackened. And the fact that it seems Yaxi could've knocked out Enigma and stolen the knife, Yaxi will probably play a big role in the trial. I don't think that she's the killer, but it does seem like she'll be a 'red-herring'. The only other people I'm suspicious of is Corza, Twin, and Pocket, but I don't really have any evidence for them.
@@doridoriyaki5311 The BDA is always inconsistent about whether the killer counts as one of the three people needed to trigger it, something even the characters have called out to Monokuma before. Someone else may have found the body first, but left the scene and stayed silent for fear of bringing suspicion on themselves. We can't dismiss any of those three as suspects just yet.
It would be interesting if Moraiteru did it and she's trying to frame Yaxi by attacking Enigma and making it seem like it was someone who is good with their fists. The person who wore the exercise band is probably the killer beause their heart rate spiked around the time of Rox's death, and it didn't go down until a few hours after her death. The adrenaline probably took a while to go away since they had just killed someone and had to deal with the crime scene. It wouldn't make sense for the killer to leave behind that kind of evidence, unless they did it on purpose in order to try to frame someone. I highly doubt that another person unrelated to the murder happened to be in the room adjacent to the crime scene, and they exercised for about 2 hours before leaving everything in the room.
Huh... This 'fight' seems pretty sketchy to me. Does anyone else think the 'fight' in the classroom was partially a staging? Maybe the real struggle happened elsewhere or didn't happen at all? And then there's the nagging question of what on earth might be in her room and why we've been locked out of it! Did the killer just want a locked room they could offload key evidence into to keep it away from us?
Damn, I was right from when you guys posted the preview vid from a few months back; Enigma's rage being met with Rule's blood-freezing Give-me-an-excuse-to-execute-you-Enigma-I-dare-you-I-double-dare-you-motherfucker-I'm-not-Monokuma-I-won't-hesitate-to-skip-the-Class-Trial-and-execute-everyone-in-this-room-to-prove-my-point-Enigma-don't-test-me malice. Not to mention almost everyone is equally suspicious even with alibis, all to keep the 'readers' guessing. You guys are nailing the Doyle/Knox-tier threshold of mystery writing & I'm loving it.
So predictions before I watch the episode: -First thing that comes to mind is suicide, foreshadowed by her brother's passing. This makes sense for her character because by doing this she would relieve everyone from the poison, my only problem with this theory is that it doesnt explain why enigma got attacked.
Alright theory crafting time. Scarlet cleared Grisp, Cancel, Twin, and Corza while Grisp cleared her. (I will admit it is "convenient" for her to sleep just before Rox left however) Moraiteru never left her room Rissi was drunk out of her mind. And Enigma was attacked. This leaves Yaxi, Anon, Cross, Rock, and Pocket. Cross is clearly a red herring to a T. My prediction right now is that when Grisp was talking about watching a plant, it was Cross. Yaxi is clearly the biggest suspect at the moment for knocking out Enigma, but I think she's another red herring of sorts for the killer. I think it's possible the heart rate monitor will be her clear. Also, whoever did it needed to lift up Rox, so Anon's sickly body kind of marks him off too. This leaves Pocket and Rock. From the way things are going, it seems Rox may have attacked first. Personally before writing this I was suspicious of Rock because he's gotten development, however reading it all back, it's not looking good for Pocket.
i disagree with the “potted plant” being cross. if grisp were to give cross a nickname, i don’t see why he’d call him a potted plant instead of just “plant.” not to mention, grisp said that he was “enjoying its majesty.” like many of the others, grisp doesn’t seem to like cross after he slapped rox, so if the potted plant WAS cross, i doubt grisp would be “enjoying its majesty” like he said (also he uses the term “its” instead of “his”).
Unless, Grisp was hiding something and was watching him, but realised halfway speaking and chose to change what he says. It is odd to let that fact that ‘he looked outside when most were sleepin’ to slide.
this was absoutley amazing. cross did a great job editing, especially for his first time editing the series. i cant wait to see what comes next :) great job to the whole team
I am so happy this is still going 🥰 I've missed it. Almost couldn't remember who had died. Take the time you guys need to keep making it this good! I voted no in the poll but it was a hard choice, I just love this series so much. Kinda happy now that we lost lol
Spoilers, ramblings, etc.... (by the way, I love the series, and all the small things you put in!) Rock has all the flags. No alibi, character backstory, and to top it all off, how can you trust someone who doesn't like BBQ sauce. But seriously, when someone's pouring drinks, they always get my attention in a bad way. The glove thing does sorta bother me, but small injuries like that can be explained easily The wrist burns are what bother me the most. Yes, they could be from the ropes, but also being dragged. I guess more's to come in the next epi
Dragged...? I think you're onto something there! I'd suspected Rox was incapacitated elsewhere and then carried to the scene, but being dragged actually makes more sense given the rope burn! That would mean the culprit was someone who didn't have the strength to use the faster, quieter alternative of carrying her!
Hmm, so Rock and Yaxi are the suspicious ones--- like what's expected even back then. I'm also keeping my eye out for Pocket, since he also left some time after meeting the others. Anon and Cross seem to be unrelated to the crime, but I don't think they're entirely just side characters for this case. Grisp and Scarlet feels like the parents among the cast, and Cancel seems to be out of the limelight too, because of her being sick. I think there's more to Twin and Rissi, and with Moraiteru's last scene, I'm pretty sure now that she won't survive. Enigma and Corza's duo is my favee, looking forward to more investigations with them. Also, does anybody else think that someone might've found Rox beforehand and tried to cut the rope, that's why it was damaged and there's a missing knife? I am betting it's Rock, which means he's innocent. My main suspect for now (even though there's no clear evidences) is Pocket. What do you think? LASTLY, a marvelous episode! This was surely worth the wait. Thank you, DRF:SH team!!
i love this so much, thank you!!! has been year and a half since i caught up(i know it is around 2 years since last ep) i like every character so much that it'll be heartbreaking to see them go, just like Rox's death was...
So excited for the continuation of the story- I can’t wait to see how everything unfolds. Especially how Rox died. Her arms and legs being bound up make no sense! What SEEMS like happened so far, is rox struggled with her attacker, they ultimately hit her on the head, then they hung her. But where in that timeline are her arms and legs tied? Before the fight makes no sense- wouldn’t have been much of a fight. After knocking her out doesn’t track either, what’s the point, she’s already out? I want to say she was tortured but no evidence at all to support that theory. Plus why was her mouth taped shut? Same thing with her arms and legs being bound- what was the purpose of it? The only purpose would be to keep her quiet, but AGAIN, the only time to tape her mouth would’ve been after she’s out cold! I don’t think the knife damaged the rope, I don’t see the point of that either! Probably how the attacker was injured? Ahhh so much to learn I can’t wait!
There's only one explanation I can think of: The fight took place somewhere else! Suppose the culprit fought Rox in her room, knocked her out quickly (hence her having very few injuries), then tied her up and taped her mouth shut so they could carry her all the way to the classroom and finish her off there... Then they turned over some furniture in the classroom to make it seem like a fight happened there. Plus, since the culprit stole Rox's dorm key, not only could they safely stash incriminating evidence in a room no one else can access, but they also wouldn't have to cover up any signs of a struggle in that room. As for the motive for moving Rox, all that comes to mind is that they wanted us to find the body to get the killing game moving (which would end the poison ultimatum and give the culprit a chance to escape the academy).
Aaaah I'm so excited for this! I've been very stressed this year because of my upcoming university exam, I also felt unmotivated. But this is the motivation I need! I'm so happy it's finally coming 🥹😭
Ok spoilers because I watched the episode First of all, I love how Corza tried to comfort Enigma. I just hope he doesn't have any malicious intent behind it like manipulation though I doubt it. I think the killer's either Twin or Pocket but I'll need to watch the next episode in order to make sure. I honestly think the killer wanted information out of Rox. If the killer has Rox's room key they could investigate it and find a possible clue about her connection with Monokuma. And uuuh CorzaCross shippers how we feelin? They are fighting once again... Honestly this was absolutely worth the wait. I loved it! Thank you Shattered Hope team for making such a great series!
Spoiler - (evidence-alibis) - I’m mad suspicious of Grisp. Like bro was so defensive about opening the door- even guilt tripping Enigma- and built an alibi with Scarlet. Grisp, sadly, Rock, and maybe Yaxi are my suspects for this case. Moraiteru seems like a cool antagonistic character and I *hope* she doesn’t die in the next chapter.
@@QqQ3Three3 At 35:40, Enigma asked Grisp why he glanced outside the door for no apparent reason. The interrogated guy then proceeded to say he wanted to stare at a random potted plant outside his dormitory. Grisp also mildly guilt trips Enigma by asking: “Do you judge me for wishing to enjoy its majesty?” [35:58]He’s basically defending an action that was out of the ordinary by creating a question that if Enigma doubted him, it would be an attack on his character. That leaves the MC with no other choice but to dismiss his suspicions because any further inquiry would lead to him either being more defensive or claiming Enigma is disrespectful towards his habits and love of nature.
@@QqQ3Three3 Sorry for the essay like response.. 😅 TL;DR Grisp created a question that if Enigma refuted his claim it would be like an attack on his habits and love of nature. Thus, preventing Enigma from questioning him further. 39:58
I like that we get to see Moraiteru planning for the trial itself rather than it just being investigation. It does make some amount of sense to have strategies ready.
Oooohhh that opening . . . . . also I am loving the music that is playing too throughout this episode (besides the more familiar stuff). As much as I love Corza, I'll be shocked if he survives this killing game. I hope he makes far at least.
In order to he a target in the first place, Rox would have had to have come out of her room very late at night for sone reasons at least. Maybe not necessarily to kill someone, but it is a possibility.
I’m wondering if the killer didn’t tape her mouth because they were worried someone would hear her, but instead because they were remorseful and didn’t want to hear her screaming themself…
I suspect it was so they could carry Rox to the scene of the crime, hence why they also bound her limbs. The only way she would've been tied up while having so few injuries is if she was knocked out cold by the head wound, but if she was unconscious, why tie her up at all if she's already in the classroom and the culprit can just finish her off right there and then? The culprit likely needed setup time to complete their staging, and was worried about her waking up during that time.
I'm really happy to see you guys again! Even though it hurt a bit to keep confirming that my suspicions on Yaxi were wrong. And since Rox was only injured in one arm, I can't even blame Yaxi's finishing move for that. From now, I think Rissi is either the culprit or blames herself for Rox's death, judging from her reaction to the body. Other than that, it's likely the body was moved, which makes me wonder what's the deal with the blood. I guess finding the killer will be really easy during the trial, all they have to do is check a suspect for injuries. I still think it's weird that Corza hasn't mentioned his meeting with Rox, but he's way too important to be the first killer. I'm looking forward to the next episode!
Maybe that's how they will protect Yaxi. She didn't seem injured at all 🤔 I'm suspecting Pocket funny enough. As a baseball player, swinging your arm hard enough to knock someone out should be possible, right?
