I know I replied before but... I wanted to say that there was 1 way that Rantaro could be saved and survive without killing anyone instead of him. What if the metal ball didn't dropped at the library? What if the ball accidentally dropped at the girls bathroom, eh? Then Tsumugi could use this to fake her death and return in chapter 6 after being exposed as the mastermind. I know it would be like Junko who faked her death in THH, but it could be the only way Rantaro could be saved without killing someone else instead. They could develop him more if this happened instead of making him a victim of the mastermind.

Nagito Komaeda I doubt it. Even in the official NDRV3 art book it's mentioned that Amami is a siscon and that his strong love for his little sister is something that defines his character, as well as his "don't try to get close to me" attitude.

I think his talent is Ultimate Adventurer. First, he goes all around the world with a boat, he always stumbles upon the dangerous parts of his travel areas, and he has said he has rare artifacts from his trips. Or it can just be the Ultimate Big Brother

Technically none of them had an ultimate they're just blank slates when the killing game starts up. rantaro's initial ultimate in "V2" is forever a mystery now to us. Whether or not wiping his mind 2 times messed up his memories or giving him the Survivor title hinted what's going is also lost to time.

Spoiler Apparently the developer of the game, towards the end of development, grew to really like Rantaro and they wanted to keep him alive for longer. But it was too late to change the script and they were upset by this but had to keep him as the first victim anyway.
