Absolutely amazing that people have a vehicle in hand that can go much faster than running and they still walk their bikes instead pedaling like heck!!
This just unlocked a memory... I remember watching this video a longgg time ago and I remember being super confused as to why the road suddenly went vertical
I was a biker commuting home one night (complete darkness) on a section further north on LSD during a similar storm. Wave came out of nowhere and knocked me off my bike. Never been so terrified in my life. I managed to get back to my feet and get to safety. They would have never found my body if I had gotten dragged out.I learned a big lesson that night.
Slightly Disconnected "I'd be like", what the fuck kind of language is that, you would be "like" what? Did you ever go to school and learn how to express yourself? What is this "like" shit? If this "like" word would be eliminated from the vocabulary ( do you know what this is ? ), you would not be able to communicate at all, can you write, I mean as in calligraphy?
+Oknmi [Roblox, minecraft and MOAR!] tornado chasers don't intentionally go where they would be trapped by, and hit by a tornado. These fools are going straight for the waves. If these people were like tornado chasers, they'd be on the street side of the wall...
Amazing that a lake can kick up wave heights just as high as the ocean can. I mean I knew they could given their size, but it still strikes me knowing these lakes have taken large cargo ships in its time.
Why does everything involve calling 911? common sense starts with the people who should observe its not a good place to be and not chance it. I am one who live near the lake and well if you think you can fight mother natural then you deserve what she hits you with
Honestly, living in and being from Michigan I know never to go near a Great Lake while it's got large waves. The people here are just beyond ignorant and I'm surprised that they weren't smart enough to stay away. The current in Lake Michigan when it's NOT sloshing around with 12 foot tall waves are incredibly strong, I can't even imagine what it's like when it is,
i rode through this probably 10 min before this footage on my way to school years ago, and the waves seemingly came out of nowhere, I did get soaked up to my knees but just kept on riding. explaining that to my professor was funny. wow good times.
Red Spaniard Yes, Lake Michigan is a powerful force - I know, I live just 25 miles to the east, and the storms and the cold winds blowing across the lake with nothing to interfere with them can cause damage inland. But, if you want to see REAL power, head on up to the U.P. and check out Lake Superior when the wind blows. It's awesome.
really mate, i will keep this line alwz in heart.. its like a new moral to be added in my character.. :) i used to thought opposite.. but u opened a door of mercy n love .. thnx pal..
These people must be *obsessed* with exercise, if they're willing to risk the chances of being forcibly pulled-out by those waves (or else drowning/being smashed against the rocks); and they'd even put their dog's lives at risk! It's times like *this* where you have to use your head and think ; "What's worth the risk and what ISN'T worth the risk?" ... or you might regret it later on. 💭
What's really interesting is that before Buzz Killington disabled reading the statistics, it showed that this video was really popular in Pakistan. Why???
Probably didn't pay, those click banks like random videos all the time to try to throw the scent off. I had a video that was not even actively shared which reached 2m views in a matter of weeks thanks to a click bank latching on to it. Happens all the time.
***** Something is wrong with the dates on these comments. I left this comment in like November 2012, I don't know why it says I left it last year. So when I actually first wrote the comment it was a legitimate question.
So what I've learned from this is: apparently jogging and biking and in some instances dog walking, causes brain damage. There should be warnings to the public about this.
@@-star_27-20 a sea is defined as a division of the ocean enclosed by land. So no, technically according to that definition they should be salt water since oceans are. The Sea of Galilee which is often mistaken as a fresh water sea due to its name, is actually classified as a lake. Seas also have a direct outlet to the ocean.
i cant understand why these people and bikers go there..they see the waves..... the lady with the dog?where are you going??save your lives people, don t play with water and nature, even if you think you are good at these 2 and you are not going to be hurt..you are people against water, you never know what water can do.
Were the police and authorities asleep? It should NOT need a TV crew to draw attention to dangerous sea conditions! The coast road should have been closed immediately!
Relax folks, this is fun and games for people who live next to big water. Newscasters live very sheltered lives and are programmed to be blown away by any little thing. An occasional big one smacks the wall, but otherwise, it's not as bad as it looks. I promise you the cyclists @6:47 are laughing like little kids.
It looks fun, actually. The worst that happens is that people get a little wet, or dunked, or go swimming. Big deal. Let people make their own decisions. We don't need the media or government telling us what to do. If you think it is too dangerous then don't go there, you don't need to become mega mommy.
Actually the worst that could happen is death. That being said, if you wanna go someplace dangerous, go for it, but you must ensure that noone would risk themselves to try and save you. While you might be able deter a random hero thats probably not the case with emergency services. Go someplace more secluded if you want to try it.
James Heimbach Its.folks like.you.that take chances and put others at risk to save your life. I live near lake.Erie and.often times a road is closes down because of flooding.
Chicago is beautiful, I've lived here since I was eight, I like it here better than North Carolina and Georgia. This city is amazing, and the lake is amazing in the summer.
Right Theron, but the waves are entering the bike path where there is usually no water whatsoever. The waves off shore were 12 to 16 feet. The spot where he and the bike were almost swept in is a giant seawall which normally is several feet above the water surface. Make no mistake, that lake will drown you as fast or faster than any sea on earth.
