For several years, the Apapa, Isolo, and Oworonshoki roads were in an extremely poor state, hampering the movement of goods and access to marketplaces. This project demonstrates the positive impact achievable through public-private collaboration. This development will serve as a catalyst for economic growth.
Chairman, Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote

Nobody should be decieved this project is a no brainer..a cement producer uses his own cement that he produced to bulid a road..and he didnt do it for free he has used the project to offset his tax burden (that he would have had to pay in cash..) for the next how many years..and he didnt do any old project he cemented the road that he uses to convey his own products and vehicles LOL..it makes Dangote look good..but if you look at it critically who is the biggest single beneficiary of the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway being in good condition..it is Aliko Dangote and his Salt/Sugar and Cement production line.

Nigeria has a huge amount of natural resources such as oil, natural gas, minerals like Lithium which is parallel if not more than Saudi. But yet Nigerians are living like a poor nation with lack of roads, sewage system, lack proper medical and education system in place thus huge property and thus lead to high crimes and insecurity. Today’s problem of Nigeria is obviously not because of lack of resources but corruption within top leadership which trickles through out Nigeria government. Thus clean up corruptions and partner with the right entities to develop Nigeria properly so today and future generations of Nigeria will prosper. When one see the Western government and their entities hasn’t done anything to help you then try other alternatives like BRICS! Look at how well Angola have been develop today! God bless Nigeria!

I know you want to vent your frustration and you have every right to do so. But don’t just vent. You have to actively do something, see something and say something positive about your country every day. To older Nigerians like me, you are saying nothing new. We have been saying this for 25yrs. What you need to do is push, push, push for performance and accountability. Don’t be like your uncles and fathers who just complained endlessly but accepted the rubbish of our leaders. No gree for anybody, but at the same time, be positive! God bless you and God bless Nigeria.

You just wrote nonsense. Saudi produces more than fifteen times the oil Nigeria produces and their population is like a local government in Lagos. Oil and Gas constitute only 10% of Nigeria s GDP. Nigeria does not subsist on oil. Heavily populated countries cannot subsist on mineral resources.

@@rotimikayode1072 I stand to be corrected, Buhari commissioned the expressway many years ago. Again, what are they doing as an achievement on the Apapa-Oshodi expressway now? Did they take care of the gridlock in Apapa? The expressway was supposed to be maintenance free for 20 years. No achievement in one year in office and you are here talking about bad belle. What will happen to the #400 billion as well as the opportunity forgone on the free for all Granite that he would mine? Well, to be fair Dangote is a capitalist like every other capitalist in the world. His drive is to make more money regardless of the government. What’s happening here though is he’s fixing a road which naturally the government should have done, you might argue he is one of the beneficiaries of the road but he also mentioned that in 18 months they lost 60 billion due to the poor condition of the road. Guess who that loss will be passed to? Not the government but to the consumers. We are better off if the road was fixed in the first place by the government.
