Kelvin is the most articulate and informed business analyst around.NNPC should give dangote refinery the 445000 barrels of crude meant for the moribund refineries,then pay him the refining cost.The pump price of the products should be the mining,and refining cost then a margin that will make NNPC profitable should be added so that the price of the products will come down and inflation will be refuced
@chimereh.achilefu9176
@chimereh.achilefu9176 Год назад
If cost of pms in liberalized markets in west africa is just above $1, it's wishful thinking to hope that dangote's high purity grade pms will be sold cheaper than is currently available for the low purity grade pms in the market, while still making reasonable profit to service his foreign equity investors & dollar loans. So it"ll be suicidal for his refinery if he agrees to your suggestion, which by implication means he'll be losing money. Only way your wish for cheaper pms is if the FG continues subsidy on the dangote pms
@markfactor8265
@markfactor8265 Год назад
@@chimereh.achilefu9176 if u remove the freight,and logistic cost of petroleum products as we speak u would have removed 27% fro the cost of pms,then if the nnpc prices that 445000 barrels in naira and pay dangote the refining cost the pump price will reduce and mind u other derivatives of the crude can always make up.the whole idea being to help resucitate businesses otherwise the economy can't grow with no power and high fuel prices
@chrisoghenetegamaloney5799

It's a valid concern that real estate agents in Lagos are promoting proximity to the Dangote Refinery without discussing potential negative impacts. Living close to a refinery can pose certain risks, such as exposure to air and noise pollution, which can have negative effects on health and quality of life.

Invariably, Nigerians' expectations from Dangote refinery may be dashed. The refinery is a business, not a social welfare programme. Dangote will invariably sell his products to markets/countries that can afford it. If Nigerians are waiting for petrol from Dangote at the subsidized price we presently enjoy, they will be disappointed.

If Nigerian analysts are to be believed, the opening of Dangote refinery will turn Nigeria into an unrivalled world eldorado. We heard that before, when Dangote was building his cement plants, and Nigeria suddenly became the most expensive cement clime in Africa, contrary to the promise of the opposite. We are about to start buying the most expensive petrol in Africa too, within the next 3 years, when Dangote monopoly refinery comes on stream. In fact some laws have been hard-coded to ensure that Dangote is a monopoly. This overpriced refinery thrives on Nigerian subsidies, direct and indirect, just like all Dangote businesses. It gets all forex at preferential rates, and Dangote businesses do not pay taxes - all kind of loopholes. Someone please remind me what part of *Dangote Welfare Inc* is actually a business?

Did any one noticed how this criminal channel TV journalist shut the guy out close to the end of the interview when the guy tried to reveal a mistake that was done by real estate developers who are selling properties to Nigerians within 48 Kilometer radius of a commercial refinery which is unacceptable by the International standard of operation. Any intelligent and responsible journalist could have allowed the guy to reveal more of that concern for the benefit of the listeners who may want to purchase any landed property closed to Dangote refinery.

I'm sick of Nigerian projects being commissioned and not functional. This was the case with Terminal 2 at Murtala Mohammed Airport and also the case with the Lagos Blue Line train. I'm not sure who these people think they're fooling. I am hopeful for the Dangote refinery because it's privately owned. Let's see what happens.
