A similar climate change concern was raised by the international oil industry players against an oil pipeline project to transport oil from oil wells in Uganda to Tanga in Tanzania. The aim was to have the project stopped against the wishes of the two countries. These neocolonial institutions seem to operate on the premise that Africa should not be allowed to industrialize; for if Africa industralizes, the West will be starved of raw materials.
This incident reminds me of the one in Uganda where the Europeans criticized and threatened to stop the support for the pipeline project from Uganda to Tanzania on the pretext of environmental destruction. It is high time we Africans, in particular, decolonize our mindset for the interests of our beloved continent. BRAVO!! David Hundeyin for that remarkable , patriotic and honest move . They even criticized my country ( Tanzania) when we were constucting the largest electric dam in our country in the name of " environment" . Little did they know that Tanzanians are united, we don't listen to any foreigner who wants us to protest our own government. We criticize each other but outside influence is prohibited. Now our dam is completed, we have excess power enough to sell to our neighbors. And our dam is a part of Nyerere National Park which is the Largest national park in Africa. These Europeans want to lecture Africans about environment while they are experts in environmental destruction.

Africa has never been free, and attempts by the West to keep crippling Africa is a fulltime Job. The sad reality is that African Leaders are the tools for these mischievous acts. Nigeria has more oil than America but America has over a hundred functional refineries and Nigeria still can't boast of one functional Refinery. Finally, the Dangote refinery shows up and all we can do is to jeopardize his efforts internally. Very Sad.

The same thing is happening in South Africa. Many projects in South Africa have been opposed and finally brought to a halt by environmental NGOs. We cannot extract oil from our ocean, and we cannot extract gas through fracking either.

I hope the refinery stands but he needs to be closely monitored and the FG and Nigerians need to be part of this company, so he won't exploit Nigerians as he has done with other products of his... I got that from the start as well. Their negative opinions were transparent from the way he was interrupted and asked the same question he was answering to the question posed about a 180 degree turn as though he was siding with Dangote
It is almost as if these journalists are mere talking heads. David said some pretty deep things about why he rejected this offer and rather than ask questions to drill further into issues like Green Energy and why Africa should be allowed to add value to its commodities, unserious questions about empty comments made by empty heads are being thrown at David.
The 650,000 barrel per day crude oil Dangote Refinery is a game changer for the upstream and downstream oil and gas sector. Things cannot remain the same with the emergence of the Dangote Refinery and what we are currently witnessing in the oil and gas sector is what happens in the wild twitching and thrashing of a snake whose head has been cut off. As Dangote Refinery continues to ramp up production, even if it initially does so with imported crude oil, producers of crude oil in Nigeria will have no option than to sell it crude oil. Likewise those who want the importation of petroleum products into Nigeria will soon be caught in their own folly of ignoring the Dangote Refinery in front of their home.

The fact remains that the West does not want Africa to succeed. I live in Italy, and despite having no crude oil resources, they have six refineries. This suggests they would be pleased if we didn’t have functioning refineries, so we would continue exporting crude oil to them. Thank God for Dangote, because in a few years, 70% of the refineries in Europe might shut down if we have a working refinery in Nigeria and Africa at large

The interviewers are highly unprofessional and hostile towards their guests. It seems like they wanted David to stoop to the level of tabloid journalism. He's a discerning and impartial journalist who refuses to be influenced or bullied.

I was actually waiting for you, the interviewer, to ask your guess the one genuine question before dropping my message. The question was, did these organizations or individuals contact you because of your past posts about Dangote? I'm hearing or seeing this David for the first time, and I must confess that he is a very eloquent and one of the smartest Nigerians that I have ever seen or heard spoken. No other countries want the betterment of Nigeria or Africa in general. Everybody knows that when Nigeria is going well, the rest of the Africa countries will do great, and this is the reason why some cabals/ criminals elsewhere are trying to use us against ourselves to cause confusion and mayhem in the land of Africa, thus to continue using some of us to steal and loot our resources and massacre ourselves.
The questions should have been more relevant to the subject matter as opposed to trying to discredit David. His previous posts on dangote is obviously the reason he was contacted. Maybe the presenters should have done more homework on the Dialogue earth.

A lot of you Nigerians don't know how lucky you are to have a man like Dangote build one of the biggest and modernized refinery in the world, which can help your country benefit from a lot of things. How conceivable is this? A foreign NGO offers you 800k naira, not 800k dollars to do dirt on Dangote refinery, a 20b dollar kick? 800k naira mind you is a miserable 550dollars. That alone is not only cheap & disrespectful but insulting.

Africa is not the poorest continent but the richest continent on earth ,if only we woke up ,unite , create our own central bank and print our own currency backed by our resources, this would be a game changer. We don't need aid from no one but Almighty God and he has blessed us with everything over every one else.
Your straight forwardness is on point. The only issues here is that the said Dangote is not really doing anything to help Nigeria. His cement for instance cost more in Nigeria compared to other countries. Dangote business practices is nothing to be celebrated.
